I like this quote because it shows how sometimes despite putting all the effort one can put into something, and they can make significant progress, life doesn’t always go the right way.
And in the first game he was just some silly old man who said silly old man things, but in the sequel, his character had so much more depth, and you could see through his foggy glasses how close he was to giving up, after trying so hard, and getting so far.

Before anyone judges me for playing Genshin, I would like to say I am in no way associated with the fan base or fandom. I play the game because one of my irl friends got me into it, and it actually has a really good story as well as excellent character design and voice acting. The most I have ever gotten involved with the fandom is when I occasionally make (sfw obviously) bad fanart and post it.
