Late, finally got to reading the synopsis
based on the way the story is going currently, what do you think is the next step for the story? The way I see it, it'd need to be connected to the symbiotes mostly because a lot of those other plot threads tie back into it. But at the same time, I'm not sure who would be good characters to introduce through that. They still have to introduce the other NY heroes, free Blade and Stratovskr (or whatever), and explain what's corrupting Bast and Wakanda a little better. All while adding new environments.

The game is already so bloated with duelists, there's almost more than the other two classes combined. And every season they're gonna add like one more at least. Any progress towards evening the number of all three classes is a welcome change, if only just for visual balance and variety.
I mean Cloak and Dagger is just a Duelist disguised as a healer cause more people seem to play Cloak 😭

So I hope at the very least Phoenix is a Support or Ultron is a Vanguard or Thanos or whatever and whoever comes next

No, they’re from Present which I did say in the original message. Most of them, at least. Krakoa (their home) was moved to 2099 during the Entanglement. Storm is from a different timeline, maybe Collapsing but it’s unclear if hers was destroyed or if she was just moved. Magik is from collapsing.

He is in fact in 2099. He was approached by S-Zero in his story, then at the end realizes he'd be more help there than in NYC (after getting whooped by Dracula), so he leaves and that story is continued in the Web-Warriors gallery panel from s0.

Hero stories are all available, at least the first of three. The other 2 for everyone hasn’t released yet.

For gallery cards, they’re partially battle pass unlocks, partially achievements, and partially seasonal events. So far, no way to get the ones you’ve missed, but I have them saved in a doc if you’d like to read them.

I highly doubt we’re getting any variants playable. The ones that are most prominent (in rivals lore) are the ones who are playable, and no others really appear so far. Mantis fights an unidentified variant of herself in the Collector’s Themepark as part of his little contest of champions taking advantage of the Entanglement, and Present Chronoverse Avengers mention their dead Cap to the playable Cap (2099).

As for Doom 2024, he’s the main Doom so far. The one in league with Dracula, the one who fought Strange for the Darkhokd, and the one who caused the Entanglement out of frustration.

Doom 2099 is (obviously) from 2099, and was the other half of the Entanglement since his experiments synchronized with 2024’s across timelines to cause a big accident, of which he is currently taking advantage.

If you’re referring to appearances, pretty sure 2099 is the blue one from the trailer and 24 is the green.

Though Magik does exist in Present, ours is from Collapsing.

We're most likely going to see a symbiote Odin later on based ont hat conversation where Odin says he feels a corruption encroaching on him even in his sleep. Warlock identifies this as the same corruption he sees in Bast a bit later, which is of course, a symbiote. So he heads to Klyntar to kill Knull.

He got curbstomped by both Khonsu and Doctor Strange, and afterwards, he did something we don’t know yet and screwed up time by merging timelines into a single space

Doom made a deal with Dracula, and now it’s always night in New York, and Squirrel Girl got defeated for the first time in her life

The Web of Life and Destiny got messed up in 2099, and both the Master Weaver and his apprentice, Spider Zero, are in a generational argument as to how to fix it (and also Punisher, Black Widow and Captain America came from here, Cap died in the original timeline, while he was just freshly unfrozen in the 2099 timeline)

Krakoa time traveled from the 2024 main universe to the 2099 universe (which may mean that there’s an X-Men map coming soon that I, for one, can’t wait to try)

Hydra did as Hydra does, they kidnapped Bucky while he was trying to bring down a Hydra base, and they put a canned Eldritch squid in his arm that sometimes possesses him to go on murder sprees again and again and AGAIN AND AGAIN

Wakanda maybe comes from the year 2099, and they managed to do a Star Wars and start a galactic empire to find the place Vibranium came from, but their Panther Goddess, Bast, got Venomized

However, the one we have rn is firmly Mosaic, since a dev is the one who said that in Dev Visions video.

On the Midtown map, 2024 Doom gave Dracula the means to make it so that there’s eternal night, and began a Vampire invasion. Half of the team (attack) wants to retrieve the Darkhold, which may corrupt reality, to find a cure for the vampires, while the other half (defend) wants to use a spell called the Montesi Formula to kill all Vampires, including the innocents already turned

On the Hydra map, half the team is trying to stop Hydra from opening an Eldritch portal to squid monsters, while the other half is essentially either brainwashed or Hydra knockoff heroes

On the Yggsgard payload map, the attacking team is trying to destroy Loki’s Yggdrasil sapping device to avoid him messing with time, while the other half is, essentially, Loki’s army

We’re never really playing as the canonical heroes, more like variants battling variants. Like, canonically, Sanctum Santorum Doom Match takes place before the Midtown map because Doctor Strange needs to retrieve the Darkhold from the Astral Plane against Khonshu, but the book ends up destroyed, prompting the Fantastic Four to try and restore the book to find its contents again

They're using Hive's energy to make super messed up supersoldiers. You can see one of them in the tube in the middle of the supersoldier factory stage of the HYDRA map.

and yeah, they kidnapped Bucky and basically turned him/his arm into the key to open the portal, but he gets rescued by Hawkeye

Sanctum Santorum:
• Doctor Strange escapes Khonshu and the Astral Plane with the help of Wanda, but the Darkhold is torn apart in the process
Midtown:
• Attackers (Wanda, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange) need to take H.E.R.B.I.E. to Avengers tower to digitally restore the Darkhold
• Defenders (Iron Man, Moon Knight) need to stop H.E.R.B.I.E. to avoid the Darkhold tearing more things apart with its mere influence

Hydra Base
• One side is working with Hydra to open a gate into an Eldritch world, while the other side (Hawkeye, Cap and Bucky) are working on tearing it down

Wakanda - Hall of Djalia
• Attackers are trying to return the Statue of Bast to the main Hall to try and restore her after she’s been Venomized by Knull
• Defenders are under Symbiote influence, and trying to stop Bast from being restored
Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda
• Shuri’s side is trying to explore Chrono-Vibranium, a substance that may help in manipulating time
• T’Challa’s side is trying to stop the scientists, in the name of the (unknowingly) Venomized Bast

The Web of Life and Destiny has been torn open over Tokyo 2099 due to the timestream entanglement, Spider-Zero and the Master Weaver both want to repair the Web, but they have opposing methods. Spider-Zero wants to plug the web into cyberspace to repair it quickly, while the Master Weaver thinks that's too dangerous, and he wants to wait and gather Chronovium until he has enough to use it to repair the Web.

On both maps, one team is working with the Master Weaver to stop Spider-Zero and the other team is working with Spider-Zero to repair the web her way. Also, the Tokyo map in the conquest mode is likely gathering Chronovium for the Master Weaver vs. gathering Chronovium to keep it from the Master Weaver

The first map, Shin Shibuya, is rescuing Spider-Zero and bringing her into the Spider Islands, where the Web of Life and Destiny are.

Afterwards, in the Spider Islands, the end result is either one succeeding in patching up the web into either Cyberspace, or by using Chronovium

• Attackers are Spider-People affiliated with Spider-Zero
• Defenders are Spider-People affiliated with the Master Weaver and the secret police, the Public Eye

So start at the beginning. Dr. Doom 2024 is mad because he can’t control time so he creates a bunch of Vampires in Midtown. Dr Strange is captured by Khonshu in the Astral plane but escapes and helps to restore the Darkhold (whatever that is) against the wishes of Iron Man and Moon Knight. Meanwhile up north, Hydra is discovering Chronovium and kidnaps Bucky and all that jazz. T’challa is currently trying to stop(?) Bast from being revived — or at least devenomized.

What is the time stream entanglement? Sorry, I know nothing other than “shoot the other guys.”

which means the Master Weaver is knowingly or unknowingly working for/with Doom 99

Chronovium is the magic plot device, there's different types of it - Wakanda combined Vibranium and Chronovium to create chrono-vibranium (also called vibra-chronovium or smthing), Doom 24 made blood chronovium with Dracula's blood, which he then used to create the eternal night in NYC

that's where the Klyntar map comes in, he's currently sealed inside the planet Klyntar but he's starting to wake because of the timestream entanglement. The story of the Klyntar map is basically GotG vs. Adam Warlock and Venom. The GotG want to use Knull's essence to try and reseal him, while Adam Warlock and Venom want to kill Knull. Venom tries to stop them so he can consume the essence and become stronger. The Necrosword is stuck in the body of the Celestial floating around Klyntar and he wasn't able to pull it out before when he tried

there is not, there's no mention of why/how most of those characters ended up in New York. Moon Knight and Iron Man were already there obviously, you could guess that maybe Shuri sent Bucky to NYC to help, Wolverine and Psylocke likely came to NYC together to hunt vampires, and Adam could've came over to help deal with the eternal darkness part of it.

It's hard to say for 100% certain how canon the gallery card image is, because Adam Warlock actually isn't even mentioned in the story of the card, but if it is canon, then it has to happen sometime after the events on Klyntar with the GotG.

I would imagine Darwin as a hybrid duelist designed to play around/with his team.
Passive - The more of a damage type he takes in a row (melee, hitscan, projectile), the more damage resist he gains of that kind of attack. So if he gets melee’d a bunch, he gets a bunch of melee resist, but then if he starts getting hit with hitscan bullets, he starts losing the melee resist.

If his team is down on a role, he can use an ability to turn into that role. So if a healer gets picked off, he can adapt into a healer temporarily, if a tank gets picked, he adapts into a tank, and if a dps gets picked, he adapts into more of a glass cannon dps

Human Torch in Marvel Rivals kinda reminds me of Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen lol

He’s got that goofy dudebro energy that Gojo has, but it’s kind of annoying, which is kinda the point. They’re both insanely powerful characters who don’t have any real reason to take anything seriously. The only difference between the two besides their similar powersets (basically just flight and energy blasts) using different energy sources is that Johnny is kind of an idiot, and Gojo isn’t, which makes sense considering how complicated JJK’s Cursed Energy can be. Johnny just has to say “FLAME ON” and concentrate on maintaining his fire form, flying, burning stuff, and looking cool. Gojo has to concentrate on one of his abilities that basically makes him untouchable, then scan everything that emits Cursed Energy around him with enhanced senses, and do some weird math/physics related sorcery with his powers to conjure Cursed Energy singularities that suck in everything around them, inverted versions of those singularities that do insane knockback, and a combination of the two that deletes things in a straight line, while also looking cool and probably thinking about protecting civilians more than Johnny does. Basically, Human Torch and Gojo feel kinda similar and I thought that was funny. Also I’m pretty they’ve both got the same VA.
