Like if maxx c was legal

I'd main deck 3 sphere mode

and draw one almost 90% of the time on my next turn, plus whatever hand traps I draw to hinder them further

If you run 3 of any card, and your opening hand is 5, you have a damn good chance of getting that card

and if you have any hand trap, at 3, and multiple kinds, getting a hand trap turn 0 is basically guaranteed anyway

so if you draw a shit ton you're just drawing more interruptions and more ways to pick apart your opponent's board and your set your own up

The OCG is a much slower format with not that many combo decks purely because maxx "c" exists

it's historically been mostly slower control formats, with some combo decks being tier 1, like Dragon Link. We had the same issue when Maxx "C" was legal here, and as soon as it was banned BOOM, combo decks went CRAZY.
