theres not really any legend i would advise playing when you're new, the game is really well balanced so you can succeed on any of them. the easier weapons which might help you learn are axe, sword, spear, hammer and bow (kinda). play what and who you want and have fun.

experimental is the closest you'll get to ranked without the rank, strikeout is almost the same except you change legend every stock, FFA is everyone vs everyone, friendly 2v2 is the closest you'll get to 2v2 ranked without the rank, and obviously 1v1 and 2v2 ranked are the competitive modes. theres other modes like brawl of the week which are kinda like party games with different rules and a whole bunch of modes that change each week.

when you're new you might lose a lot but thats okay in the significant modes they have hidden elo (rank) which will mean losing will bring you to people your level, you can also use training mode if you want to practise a combo/whatever, its a good tool

every character has 6 signatures, 3 for each weapon, depending on the direction you press (side, down, neutral) they're called this because they're unique to that character, they're heavy attacks with fancy animations and different hitboxes, abilities, interactions, etc based on the signature. when you have no weapon you're unarmed, every character has the same unarmed attacks so they're considered heavy attacks, all use the heavy attack button

no, i wouldn't sig spam, you might beat people who are bad against it but you wont beat people who've learnt to counter it, you'll just be hardstuck without playing the game properly. sigs aren't used much at higher levels and if they are they're either out of a light attack as a "read" (eg; predicting where the opponent will dodge or move) or used in a way where they would be hit for missing it.

like i said, theres not 1 legend you should stick to, you should give all the ones you have access to a try and then if you like one you can purchase them permanently in the store with the coins you get just by playing the game. then every week a new set of legends will be available and you can try more people out. high defence would be what to look for if you want that kind of playstyle.

it kinda depends on the circumstance, if you're offstage and you have a lot of options left its usually a good idea to go lower or just be less obvious with your movement by mixing in fast falls, especially out of hitstun. you can also do it when you get hit up to get down faster (just watch out cuz this is predictable). if you're in neutral you can do it to quickly get off a grounded attack or as a fake that you will dair them but it really depends on the context

dair is really really great, probably the best for it, its hitbox is amazing and you can get different types of movement(s) in your dairs by dairing with different momentum(s), if they NEED to touch you can just dair where they need to move and they'll get sucked up , it also combos well into another dair.
sair is really great especially if they try to go high offstage and you can also do > sair > jump > sair as a jump read if you move towards them offstage.
gp is okay its a bit slow but if they're about to touch the wall and you expect it and hit it they'll probably die.
weapon throws always good offstage since unarmed isnt bad at all for gimping.

as for getting back nair is really amazing if you hit a nair you can hit another one if they dont jump out and if they're above you theres literally nothing they can do
just watch out for them being at a diagonal angle with you offstage, its blasters weakness and its pretty hard to avoid without good movement, if you have advantage sometimes its good to just ledgeguard them and not let them back on stage, since blasters has a lot of spammable moves to stop them from getting a touch on anything but the wall (forcing wall-slip)

ranked is good at finding challenging games that have the possibility where you can lose but just losing and going next isnt improving, figuring out why you lost (not just one attack which you lost the game to, but the bigger picture) and actually taking some knowledge or technique or anything from that loss and incorporating it into other games, its not just losses too, if you do something good you should remember that and keep it in your arsenal to abuse in future games

this was a frature in experimental for quite a while and now its graduated

not just weapons but bombs, sidekick summoners and spikeballs too

the mod folder should have an swf file. find the identically named file in the brawlhalla folder (right click in library, properties, local files, browse local files). it might be inside a folder

if the mod breaks anything, verify integrity of game files

if you want to use a custom image that requires some more tools
