Actually I don't have any problems with matchmaking it's quicker than before. But now the toxicity on the game has greatly improved so it ruins my gaming time especially in ranked

In Brazil it is unbearable to play, besides having your own region with a low ping you end up always playing games in (NA) with 200 ping... not that it is not difficult to win against NA, but it is bad.

getting into games sometimes with 200 ping when it’s not what i queued for, regardless if you select the server you want to play, you should ONLY QUEUE for those servers. there should be some toggle or option that u can turn on or a multi server select (similar to valorant) where you can queue for multiple servers and have a toggle option to only queue into a game under a certain ping threshold no matter the queue time

Ping Cab needs to be lowered, already faced up against people who are lagging , maybe lowered ,t 120 or 150 , add additional language check, most team mates, don't even bother trying English , they either speak Russian or Chinese, which makes zero communication and hearing them doesn't help at all and always forced to mute them from start of matches, game should match people with same language and region to avoid this communication problem

(APAC) Never had issues with ping, so I guess that's a good sign. Queue times for challenges is ok (sub-20 second), but ranked could be better (+-1 minute). What's great is that this game runs well on slow wifi and mobile data, unlike CS and Valorant. Despite that, I'm on my 5th losing streak, 4 pub stomp games and 1 choked game. Haven't played ranked for 3 days now

The lag when playing normal mode is 70% of a server with a ping between 150-220 ping appearing, and despite selecting the closest server, it redirects you to a very far away server, although the good thing is that the waiting times are not that long

Regarding the rankeds, the waiting time can easily reach 30 minutes, I only point out that on those servers, ping never occurs

all in all:
multi server selection - if i select chicago, virginia, and miami for for example, let the game pick whichever finds a game faster

heighten max threshold - make the threshold that throws you into a non-preferred server higher. if i select virginia i should not be thrown in brazil or california after only waiting 45 seconds

max ping threshold slider - add a toggleable (off by default for convenience) slider in the settings that you can change what you want your max ping to be, similar to how CS has. if i wanna wait 25 minutes for 40 ping let me do it instead of giving me 150 ping after i waited 1 minute

all of this would make it convenient for everyone

I have one statement.

In americas, there is a big problem. I called my asian friend, and although we Queued only NA, sometimes we were put into Brazilian matches (since it is my host main server) and he played with 350 ping.

This only even happened because Americas queue the best OR fastest server, not just queue restricted ones. The solution to that is to, while cross region is enabled, you block any server in the host region to be able to be found, so like, even tho the queue usually allows it, it should never happen.

I love this game and bro - I was wondering why my friend and I who are on Ethernet are spiking over 200 ping every other game and more than a handful of times the ping spiked 350? I sit waiting for a game for so long....i just got more hrs at work and it might sound dumb but 10-20 min wait time is how long some matches take and I am just missing out on gaming and time. I dont see a setting feature yet where we can have a max ping and turn cross server play on or off? If not, these things should be added for sure...

It’s currently impossible to play on the South American server. We are not being placed in our own region but instead on the North American server, where we constantly experience ping ranging between 130 to 200 ms. Even when we all attempt to join the same match in the SA region, we consistently end up in NA matches.

SA player here.
After the last update with matchmaking, my experience improved a lot and I can find matches way faster than before thanks to that. I often get into NA game servers instead of SA, but that could be for the lack of players and/or NA servers having way more people playing at the time I usually play (Around 12:00 am (UTC -3)). Although I don't have any problems in terms of gameplay even in NA servers, my ping may vary up to 180 ms but I still get to play smoothly even in the action time.
I only tried twice playing with a friend (From Europe) that is outside my given regions (Americas), we chose a server in the NA to play where the ping still stayed stable for both (Around 100 ms) and we still got to have a nice and smooth game experience, also without a long queue wait time.
Overall I'm currently satisfied with the matchmaking. And if I could give a suggestion, it would be, if possible, one day make it so people can choose to play only in servers that best suit their ping despite the waiting time (Since in Americas for example you can be thrown from SA to NA servers and vice versa), since not everyone apparently can have a smooth experience because of that.

It is a good idea ONLY if you can intentionally select to enable this. Getting placed in lobbies where the average ping on your team is over 100 and the enemies are a stable 30 just feels wrong without having a choice

I literally have zero differences, I play from Australia with a minimum of 110ms regardless. (As Singapore is the closest server we have to Australia, followed by 150ms in Hong Kong, then Seoul and Tokyo both around 175ms)

Also, to play in another region; I seem to need someone from said Region.. and also because I'm in Australia, the only over server I can access is San Francisco with 193ms.

So I'm pretty much still stuck in APAC unless I have someone from the US (and only the US) to pull me out, it's almost like the cross-region matchmaking was pointless for anyone from Australia. That's how I feel about it anyway.

And I'm very certain San Francisco is the only over server I can somewhat access.

My average wait time has been 3-5 minutes. That's probably because most Asian players would play in HongKong (150ms for me), or Tokyo(175ms for me).

My only issue with playing at higher pings, is the hit reg seems to be way off.

I tried playing in San Francisco, with help from a friend based in the US to let me in there. (base ping of 193ms), I'd have fluctuations from 203ms to 235ms, and the hit reg was very noticeable.. though that's probably somewhat unavoidable with that sort of ping.

an an NA player i have not felt much of a difference, except now i can queue with my australian friends. we pretty much always end up on HK servers with about 150 ping each and it doesnt feel any different from when i play with low ping thankfully. so for me the new system is working great

the 200ms doesn't pose no real trouble for me for some reason, only half a second delay of registering damage. That is in the case of Demolition matches. I could still do TDM with almost the same experience in my original region. I roll around 190~200ms during cross-server plays.

The most I'm thankful for is never encountering stutters or players glitching around during battles and the match loading doesn't really exceed a minute for me.

Wondering if this will change as I climb the ranks though.

First thing first, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for you to enable the cross-region play. Thank you, I now can play with friends from all over the places, I once even joined a room where NA, EU and APAC are playing together.
However, this might be asking too much, but I would be appreciated if you could apply a less strict ping limit (like 300) to the causal Challenge mode.
I personally did not notice any significant differences regarding the queueing time, and I did not pay attention to other players' ping, the matches are good as usual.

you know the fix is so simple that its a wonder how its not implemented.... if someone choose one server then that server will be the one chosen... don't send them out to another server further away.... and if other players from other server purposely choose a further away server, don't give them the host privilages.... give it to someone with the lowest ping to the server.... this is the most basic thing that had been done since before 2014.... every new game for some odd reason forgot something so simple like this....

Experience on matchmaking?

1. When there is low count players, I get automatically match-maked cross server, that's ok. What's not ok is that I get into server where my ping either 400+ms or 600+ms. Worst when it is ranked.

2. Idk how your so called algorithm works but really just sucks. I get grouped with new players most of the time or high level players that still can't figure out heads to toes eventhough high level (a lot of match experience yet still play like new players).

3. At times the grouping goes extreme. It will be newbs (not noobs) vs experienced. Easy hands down surrender.

Conclusion: Your algorithm parameters is just not working well. Idk what rules you set but it is just too ridiculous. If player play support type char, is it expected to have high kills? Is "Assist" just a vanity stat? Damage is the highest factor when someone who helps the team to push/break into enemies formation means nothing? The gameplay heavily emphasize on teamplays but the reward focuses on "genocide" count (metaphor). Might as well Rambo the matches.

I'm from Brazil, I play on the South American server with 30 ms. It's a practically dead server for ranked, so I have to choose the Miami server with a ping of 130. Now with the cross server, when I queue I'm always the most disadvantaged on the team with the highest ping, between 150-170. To reduce this I always selected the Miami server, and I can't even do that anymore, it's been unpleasant for me to play ranked.

Matchmaking doesn't take into account the experience of the players.

Yeah it may seem good in comparison to other experiences; and I've had worse than that, but I still don't get why exactly I am put with those ranks despite being 200+ rank points behind, it just doesn't feel right being put with other ranks whose skill-class is probably a lot higher than mine since they can actually make it past Proton II; where I have been stuck at for the last 3 seasons total.

I guess that's just the flaws that come with Ranked in any game, but it's the people I get majority of the time; the other team is usually out of most of my team's league, me included.

It is definitely common to see the first 3 ranks in one match at times, but I feel like I've been stuck in a struggle because of it, if it's true that Strinova does MM via ELO rating, it'd be based on the in-game scoring system, which can be hit and miss depending on other matchmaking scenarios and instances; that's from my understanding anyway

I think I just need a good team to party up with, but I can't even find that in APAC, probably mainly because of where I am based geologically

I was hardstuck Molecule in s1 and s2. It took me 260+ games total across both seasons to get into Atom 4 since Strinova is my first shooter.
After another 160 games in s3, I'm now Neutron 4 with absolute dogshit aim cause I got good at knowing what to do on support.

Yeah, seeing your number of games after s1, that makes sense I think around 50-100 games per season is a good number, depends on whether you feel you can climb. I was merely hoping to hit gold at the start of s3 but far exceeded that Now I'm trying to improve my aim to have a shot at Electron by the end of season. Challenge games aren't really beneficial for improving, imo. Match quality in Challenge games vary too much.
