I still believe that while good aim helps a lot, I feel that having good aim isn't going to make you win every situation, maybe you can win a 1v1 or even a 1v2, but if you use your map layout knowledge you can use it to your advantage and not position in a corner in a 1v2, you won't have any way of running out of the fight and you'll most likely die, this may sound common sense but you'd be surprised how many people don't use their tools correctly in a fight and end up losing because of that

Honestly, with all the wintrading, cheating, smurfing and poor matchmaking, the lines between the skill-levels get even more blurrier

I personally would think of true high-elo as being around the top 50 players of each region or so, maybe more, maybe less, depending on the season and the region

And then as general high-elo around mid-superstring to singularity

Mid-elo as low-superstring and quark

And low-elo as electron and below

This is because a lot of people get to superstring and then quit for the rest of the season

And is why sometimes we have a LOT of superstrings, but only a few games on general high-elo

Either way, in the current state of the game, it isn't rare seeing people getting undeserved ranks, both upwards and downwards

Players who are too good to be so low, and players who are too bad to be so high

Talking about what is considered low level, if I take in mind a game I used to play competitively (Splatoon 3) the max Rank is X Rank, which should be only for the best players, however when taking in consideration what is low level, that X rank was also included even if it was the highest rank. Thing is that in Splatoon most of the people that are interested in competitive are already in X rank before actually starting to take the game seriously, so here in Strinova the problem seems that there's almost nothing in the competitive scene, there are not tournaments that often, there are not incentives to make people be interested in competitive, and that's why there's a lot of disparity between what could be considered low or high level.

In a perfect scenario low level would include unranked-Quark while mid to high level SS and Singu if things are done well, but for that to happen we first need the competitive player base to grow and getting it better with time

Okay so I'm working on a competitive strinova server for everyone to play and find games, and while there are probably some servers like that already, what I want to implement is a system where you can play with and against everyone without worrying about your in game rank. I call it 10s (10 players/superstrings). This system as I said before will give you the opportunity to play with or against everyone regardless of their ranks or level, where players can get experience and learn while meeting new people, it'll have no restrictions, you can be atom and play with/against Quark, the idea of this is that lower level players can get used to mid-high level games and mid-high level players can find new people to help, or even practice too.

10s will consist in Custom matches with Ranked rules, 5vs5 attackers vs defenders, teams will be randomized with the in game option to do so, once you finish the match, you can randomize the teams again.

I'm looking for people that can help me develop this system in a better way and, as I always say, make strinova competitive a better place to stay in. Thank you for reading

I totally understand your point and I felt the same while thinking about all this system, however I think that demo doesn't solve the problem of people trying to get better at the game. You probably have heard about scrims right? Then why doing scrims when you can do demo? It's the same thing in my opinion. Of course scrims now are dead because there aren't a lot of teams and most of them are high level, but my point is making everyone play with and against everyone, yes you can just have the best player in your team and you'll most likely win, but don't stay with that, learn from them ask them for advices, analyse their gameplay and decision making, same goes if you're against that high level player, think what you're doing wrong and why they're getting a lot of kills or what differences are between you or them.

What I want is to make the community more competitive and accesible for everyone, it's not only about playing, but also about meeting other players that can help you in any way, socialise... basically what a community should look like

(Also for the balancing teams there are a few ideas, but it does need time to implement it and see how it works)

I've played on a team that won ESEA adv when I competed in CS. I hosted a 200+ pug group back when I played comp tf2. You are only going to get benefit from scrims if you are at a certain level since fundamentals aren't gonna be there for lower level players. You aren't gonna learn from pugs cuz it's just low level players you can pick from. If you really want the player base to improve, have them get better attitudes since half the people don't even care when it comes to ranked

but with the coaching here in the official discord being pretty dead, a lot of players don't know where to go for this, so you either need to know someone who can coach you, or point you towards others for coaching

If you queue ranked, you run the risk of running into smurfs or people with bad mental who give up after 2 games, or just a toxic environment that makes you play worse
but if you were to play in a custom environment where everyone plays to win and you weed out all the bad apples, a player would be more likely to improve there compared to ranked

Thats why they made supernova (a seperate discord/queue like this for ss/singu)
you can ask anyone included, they would prefer supernova over ranked without a doubt

I dont consider myself particularly a good player but it depends on the individual on if they want to improve/know their goals/ and their mindset towards the game. If they casual player vs a rank grinder etc. And want to get coached or up to be coached. If you tell me you're hardstuck substance-atom theres something fundamentally you probably need to work on and just having someone point it out is enough looking at videos/replays does help but also won't if people can't self analyze the videos properly/too lazy to watch when someone else can tell/show you.

If by scrims u mean full setup team scrims like grusters v diamonds then we just dont want to because there is no gain from those scrims and we technically lose more since we r only giving without learning anything

then you can kinda assign every team to one of 3 tiers based on player individual skill

and from what ive seen throughout tournaments, the tier 1 teams rarely even benefit from scrimming the tier 2 teams so they dont do it unless theres noone else available, and tier 3 is completely off the table

I'm just saying but, if someone like me were to do a tournament with 2k USD on the line (separated by 3rd, 2nd ,1st ,and all get 10$ just to play) but at least 2 people in the team gota stream in each team. Would this be interesting knowing it would, in theory, also be a tournament that assemble demolition, escort, outbreak and more that would be a 7 days tournament. Asking for a friend ofc nothing confirm. please let me know

including gamemodes outside of demolition is really really hard and scuffed and requires a lot of thought put into it
outbreak and crystal scramble have no spectator slots, both arent meant for 10 players/2 teams of 5
escort doesnt give you the tools to just let players play a game automatically (and write down their score afterwards) and also has gamebreaking bugs that unfairly benefit only 1 team

for anyone planning on hosting a strinova tournament
id warn to stay away from non-demo gamemodes unless you know what youre doing (and are willing to get dissapointed/also dissapoint others multiple times throughout the tournaments lifespan)

But Strinova doesn't have much of that

Some chars are stronger

But never outright broken

(I'm looking at you League of Legends)

So I don't think bans are needed in Strinova

Also

Attackers have a natural disadvantage in every defense-attack game

That's why they usually have a raid boss char

To make up for that disadvantage

In a game like CS the compensation is done through better weapon options and no need to buy a defuse kit

Banning Ming just makes attackers' life much harder

Which probably means the most viable strategies will shift to boring rotate-pick strats

So it'll actually remove gameplay depth instead of adding

attack gets hurt by bans way more than defense, this is mainly due to their lack of choice, if flavia gets banned it would kinda suck for defense but its whatever, but if ming gets banned, attackers are cooked since the other duelists cant take space like ming does

defense can play pretty much anything and get away with it
