I have headcannoned that Audrey living in Neutroville (Area 88 particularly) means there's a large ethnic Enclave of English living there and therefore justifies the existence of my Northern English OC in the fic I'm working on. Also given the strong Asian vibes in the area, they probably rub elbows with asians a lot, and therefore also justifies a scene early on where he's craving Soju hard and happens to go into the wrong bar looking for a particular flavor of it in Preton where Lawine spots him (and wants his head on a pike for what he did to The Scissors 6 months ago).

I don't have his tech/skills worked out entirely. Its his personality/character that's been my focus because it's a fanfic. He essentially serves as a foil/parrallel to Lawine. Though the story will have much of it take places from a third person effectively over his shoulder, his interaction and development with her will be the vehicle for her own development and ultimately the story is about her (and to a certain extent their prolonged will-they-won't-they relationship because of course)

He's probably gonna have a similar skill set tech-wise to Lyfe/Wednesday from Snowbreak (drone stuff) I WAS thinking about his primary skill being a bubble shield like from Halo buuuuut IDS just implemented one into the game so now I have to think of something else. Miku Beam is not out of the question.

Two millenniums ago, there was a war. Between the human world and the other... the Underworld. But somebody from the Underworld woke up to justice, and stood up against this legion, alone. His name was Sparda. Later, he quietly reigned the human world, and continued to preserve harmony, until his death. He became a legend. The Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda.

Earth was freezing over, and to avoid that apocalypse mankind looked to a space between dimensions. A portion of it was digitally terraformed and then mankind was uploaded into that space. An event called the Sunset Disaster severed the space's connection to Earth sometime later, but presumably all of mankind (and some animals) made it over before then. Now, they all live in a sort of city-state called Strinova.

People in Strinova are largely immortal in the sense they stop aging at a certain point and can come back from death in most situations. This has come to an end due to a new terminal disease called Collapse Syndrome. Those infected lose their memories, their minds, and eventually go berserk and if they're killed then they're gone for good.

Not long after this discovery, Strinova entered in an armed conflict between three factions:
-PUS: The armed wing of the government, but they also handle some of the research too.
-The Scissors: A group formed in part of ex-PUS agents looking to resist them and rebuild a path back to Earth
-Urbino: An artistic business conglomerate playing both sides and looking to uncover new places for mankind to travel to.

Yeah, in the sense that the Scissors is an insurgency taking an inherently violent and opposition approach bordering on complete overthrow, how PUS is evidently NOT the good guy given the shady stuff they've been doing, and how Urbino is completely willing to play the middleman based on convenience and has their sights set beyond the current situation.

And, well, what current lore there has been hasn't really explored it as much. On one hand, you do have stories like Meredith Character Story (explicit demonstration of PUS doing a deliberate mind-wipe for the "greater good," the events of S4 Preton, or Flavia's work trying to root out corruption from within. But there's definitely an equal amount of less that and more "feelsgoody" stuff like the events, side stories, and the Map Workshop one.

(I guess that's why what character-driven fanon that does exist definitely leans a lot into further exploration of the grey area civil war thing. PUS operatives who've had beef/incidents with PUS but still stick around due to various reasons, more Scissors members that are results of experimentation, still more Scissors members that align ideologically but have differing methods, Urbino members just trying to get by and sort things out, even new independent factions that seek to outlet frustration with the state of the world in a different way)

Urbino's a business alliance, largely consisting of some of the artists (or possibly just capital-A Artists who help design bodies) of Strinova. They're probably best known for funding stuff like special events and various institutions (such as Celestia's Astral Sanctuary and Elitron University). Largely it's owned by the Bai Group (lead by Bai Mo) but other groups also have shares of it (such as Audrey's Family).

Long term, Urbino wants to expand on transdimensional travel, allowing mankind to explore realms outside of Strinova (and Earth if the Scissors manage to rebuild the Human Corridor). This goal would also need bablo crystals, which is why they play both sides in the conflict between PUS and the Scissors.

Possibly downplayed since the retcon, but there's also some inter-faction fighting as the various groups with stocks try to find ways to become the primary group in Urbino.

Correction - PUS is likely hypocritical to some degree or at least trying to hide something, but they didn’t develop a disease to control the population. It’s a byproduct of Strinova being an alternate dimension, though the exact cause is unknown and debated.

Their interactions in story show something else.
Michele is angry that Ming deceived her during the PUS exam (Ming and Lawine infiltrated it under fake names), especially that she was the first friend she made and bonded with.
Ming understands Michele's pain (collapse syndrome of her father), and she's trying to make Michele understand that PUS won't help his condition and just reset him or even that PUS may be behind the collapse syndrome, what Michele can't believe... at first.
But when given hints, she starts investigating to find out the truth. That's why she infiltrates Scissors territory under cover. (Story season 4)

Unfortunately things don't go as planned, and conflict between PUS and Scissors rises because Eika's powers went out of control, things spiralled downhill and ancient beings got awoken (Crystallines)

Ming and Michele's interactions in the story are quite interesting. Sure, Michele is hostile, because she feels like she can't trust Ming.
And Ming is mocking Michele's blind follow of orders, despite the cat witnessing the shady stuff PUS does. It's a conflict of moralities. But when you focus on the meaning behind all that, it's Ming who relates to Michele, and she's trying to protect the cat in a very... Ming way.

It's also interesting how Lawine sees Michele.
Lawine's mentor/hero was George Lee - Michele's father. She valued the man greatly. So Lawine kinda tests Michele every time they meet, as everyone calls Mich a prodigy. She wants to see if the girl will carry his legacy (and is proved that the silly cat can outsmart her)

I really love their dynamics. They're not hating each other. They try to be friends.

Strinova is CN game first. We got localization.
They united versions, so now we are only days apart from CN.
Treat it as CN being test server, so if anything won't work, they have 3-4 days to fix it for us.

The story CN had is retconed for them too. Global and CN has the same content in game lore vise.
All supplementary media doesn't need to be translated oficially for us, as we (fans) do it just few hours after it's posted on bilibili.
No need for them to waste resources and post same stuff second time.
