An autistic level in depth review of Celestia's Legendary Skin "Shadow Rose" as a Legacy

Shadow Rose.
This could imply the existence of a shadow or insecurity within her, Specifically with the emotions.

There's a few things of keynote in her art that could exemplify it.
The 2 rapiers, the crawling Roses, the Oxeye Daisies, the crumbled gazebo that's slowly repairing itself, and the general unkeptness of the "garden".

Gardens are notably known for being a piece of land where everything inside it is kept in a tidy and clean way.
However the Garden Celestia is in, rather, her Garden is crumbling, but there's still 2 things that grow in it.

Red Roses and Oxeye Daisies.

In flower language, Red Roses can mean love or passion, or both. However the interesting aspect is with the Oxeye Daisies, It means purity and innocence from love as well as a "new beginning".
And note, The Rose vine is creeping up everywhere, even on her legs. This will come up later.

The Gazebo is in a form that shows that it's slowly being fixed, and the 2 rapiers, one is basking in the light while one is bloodied, hiding in the shadows.

A Knight, well, Dame in her case. In modern literature is someone who sacrifices themselves for the people, upholding the virtues and chivalry.

So, What does "Shadow Rose" mean?
Celestia, After putting it her all into her passion of helping people, put off taking care of herself that her "Garden" has been abandoned and is slowly decaying. She, Celestia, is getting tired.

However, something happened. She started looking into her Garden alot more. Hoping that just like how she cares for people, someone will come and care for her and will teach her how to care for herself as well. This is what the clinging roses mean.

But still, There's still that little innocence in her that doesn't know what she feels and wants to have. She's just looking for it aimlessly.

I mean, Look at her expression, She's looking for something but doesn't know what it is, but there is a faint hope that it exists

She's trying to go out of her shadow now but doesn't know how.

The rapiers exemplify that. The one in the dark is her, and the one in the light is the one that she's waiting for.

Before I had the impression Nobu was older, given his more ‘serious’ look he had compared to Reiichi’s indifferent gaze. (From their splash arts). Reiichi’s betrayal would have been a ‘oh he’s younger, rebellious, and sees the world in a different light’.

But since he’s older, it becomes ‘I’ve seen what’s been done to this world and PUS can’t help it’. As to why he didn’t try taking Nobu with him, maybe even during their time working together they already weren’t seeing eye to eye. Nobu being younger and maybe more hopeful has the stronger sense of justice that Reiichi had lost seeing PUS ‘ruin’ the world he grew up in.

That and/or ! He sheltered Nobu! Didn’t want to influence his life with his own views and hopes one day Nobu will come around to the truth.
There’s also Nobu’s position to take into account. Not sure when he became captain but if he was captain during the betrayal he probably couldn’t do anything because of it. And if it was after, well wouldn’t that sting knowing you’re now leading operations against your own blood?

Basically they have to experience something that nearly breaks their soul

The second requirement, The one that would awaken their superstring abilities, They need to turn that grief into "reason"

Be it finding the killer, uprooting a system of something
But the key part is that one has to realize that their still stuck in a loop of grief and now have to dedicate that to "doing something"

That would turn one into a stage 2 superstring, One that can use those abilities

Despite being a legendary that has a surprising amount of exposition and added lore to it, We can still dive deeper to it.
Icarus is an old Greek legend about Icarus, the son of Daedalus who created false wing so that he can escape the island of Crete by flying away, However due to his hubris, Icarus flew to close to the sun causing the wax on his wings to melt thus causing him to fall to his death.

The story on her legend skin states that she was hired by a collector to protect the "Icarus Device" from a thief that plans to take it in plain sight.

But we can dissect it further with her lore tidbits that we know, the association with the Greek myth of Icarus and the art direction of her skin.

To put it bluntly. Maddelena is Icarus, or rather is the "Icarus that lost his wings"

In her legendary she plays as a detective albeit an odd-jobs kind and in her artwork we don't even see a glimpse or a hint of what the Icarus device looks like, but we see lepidopterology collections and quite a few light bulbs.

Lepidopterology is the study of butterflies, but in the Victorian era with the steampunk aesthetic we see, Butterfly collection is more on both a show of status and complexity, the study of mortality and change but specifically it was thought to symbolize the soul back then.
but we see them collected here, dead and frozen in time.
Light bulbs are usually used as symbolism to innovation, creativity and enlightenment, along with the Lepidopterology collections and her victorian era steampunk detective theme.
A detective is, well, a person that finds and pursues and discovery of the truth
