This is quite sad when you think about it honestly

i mean this is basically the story of Michele and Eika in CN

they are good friends but when push comes to shove, they choose their faction first

it's like when they start discussing political stuff, they suddenly become enemies

in their case it's more of the matter how each saw the incident.
Eika was ordered by Ming to blow up the shed, but she still can't really control her powers, so she blew up more than intended. She tried to help, to save Ming, but things got a little out of hands. She's conflicted until Michele finds out that the masked girl was her, and instead of listening to EIka, she demonizes her on the spot. Something PUS does with Scissors, who in EIka's eyes are Preton' saviors.

Michele saw the events differently, comparing what happened to other disaster.

So she thought that EIka was behind both. Remember that she already lost trust when Ming bambozled her, and it's second time when her new friend turned enemy

This is why Michele reacted so harshly

PLUS, she just found out what's the cause of her father's dissease, and that Scissors may know a way how to fix it

So basically...

Earth and the (artificial) world of Strinova were once connected like two sides of a mirror, with The Corridor (through wich peple migrated there) acting as the link. This connection gave humans a sense of stability and meaning as they could still create things in image of something that existed. But after the Corridor was destroyed by 乐园的落日 / Sunset (sunset of paradise) ...whatever happened to Preton in the past, that reflection was lost—causing reality to feel broken and uncertain. (Also note that Crystaline arc happens there too)
Without that reference point, people began to mentally and existentially collapse, which led to the spread of Collapse Syndrome.
When you no longer can create something in image you can see or imagine, what your mind makes is distorted, creating madness.
