when you delete files on a drive, they get unlinked from the filesystem but the data exists until that region of disk space is used for another file

u can definitely "truly delete" a segment of data on a drive

with an HDD u can just take a magnet to it even

via software ull need to overwrite the area with 0s which prevents recovery (eg reformatting), but for unimportant stuff u usually just delete their index, at which point the computer believes that that area is no longer storing anything

(this is why its much faster to delete a single 1G file than 10000 100kb files)

Each of the Superstring is basically a higher dimension form of a memory drive.
They (Superstrings), the memory drives have the ability to turn 3D or 2D depending on how the data inside feels like.

Now Collapse Syndrome is when those Memory Drives don't have enough capacity in them to store data anymore but it still keeps saving data. Going into Overflow, because of that some data corrupts and ends up becoming viruses that tries to spread itself by corrupting other Memory Drives like a Zombie Virus
