I think one way of balancing the fish could be making it useable for 2 hits.
The damage should be lowered for the hits to balance it out but still make it a last resort weapon if needed.
The first hit should do more damage than the second hit.
After the first hit, the fish texture should change so its half a fish and some bones, this can be used so players know they have 1 more hit and less damage.
Things like the Pizzushi should deal greater damage since it is a task item just like the Gaz bottles. The fish should not be on the same level as these
Ooooor, just make fish not be a weapon by sinply nerfing the damage significantly as I do NOT think that fish was intended to be a weapon in the first place /:
I mean almost oneshotting someone with a fish is FUNNY but I agree that it kinda feels wrong to be that way. If you get hit by a fish you are basicially dead.
I wish the fish would do a LOT less damage but have a disarming effect instead and maybe a staggering effect (be unable to move for like half a second or be slower at that - Nothing to crazy)
Also agreed. Heavy items should do more damage because punching with them drains so much stamina and is so slow that you prolly run out of health/stamina first (
) before you can get an enemy with that
Right now I like to use the fish to disarm people with detonaters/c4/knife/weapons but while trying to disarm someone I kill them on accident more often than not 
Also if someone walks near me wish a fish I will immediately kill them because of the high danger they pose. I feel safer around a shotgun than a fish

Agreed on that it should do less damage, as someone with 800 hours I don’t think that it should be a main weapon.
Usually if someone runs around with a fish they want to use it to kill someone. For the lulz or because they are being dissident but never for self defense

However it’s not THAT overpowered, it’s a massive item and makes ur very clear that your intentions are bad.
Personally when I’m dissident, I prefer using a cassette tape over a fish as a backstab deals the same damage and forces main hand item drop as well.
Fish is just new player cassette so it’s honestly not that broken it’s just overused.

Once my friend group started to use it heavely I just started to kill everyone who carries a fish out of restraurant
I guess that’s one way of dealing with it lol

Yeah I’ll admit logically it doesn’t make sense, but it isn’t terribly busted.
But it surely is annoying because getting hit by one is more or less a guranteed death

Is worse than
Cassette + Cassette
As the time it takes you to pull out your cassette after using the fish the target has likely turned around and now you have to swing an extra time to kill them or they potentially swing back as well.
What do you think about nerfing the damage heavily and make the fish be able to disarm someone

But with just a cassette using only backstabs you can just 2 tap with no delay
Honestly as I said, I don’t think it’s needed, but I wouldn’t be against it.
Hm maybe but if you get hit by a fish. No matter what. You can not fight, not run. You are dead unless you have a gun
No, if you get front face hit by a fish you can swap weapons at the same time as them and then you get 1 swing in. Same as being back stabbed by a cassette.
You can prevent getting backstabbed but you don't have to turn your back on someone using a fish. You can run but if you are unlucky you will get oneshot instead 
The difference is you sacrifice the instant 2 tap for the ability to get a “backstab” then a delay to your next hit
Because you give up that speed though the target has a chance to get a swing/shot out on you.

The time to kill just using a cassette is faster than using a fish then cassette.
I mean it might be slower but still I feel like there is not much you can do if you loose like all of your stamina at the beginning of a fight
Yeah same goes for a backstab with any small item though (excluding screwdriver)
Especially if you drop your weapon

Also BEFORE we nerf fish we have to buff guns, this is ridiculous.
I mean from a balance and meta perspective I'd agree but personally I just don't like the fish being able to 2 tap someone

Oh yeah no I agree on that, it doesn’t make sense logically, but from a PvP standpoint it’s balanced.
REAL, and to hold more then 0.2 micrograms of a bullet in the clip when I find a natural spawn of it.

Aside from the shotgun I guess? As the spread means less pellets hit you at range, but it’s not a literal damage drop off it’s just less pellets making contact.

Used to actually be scary to kill someone because they could have an actual weapon

I feel like the revolver is alright now but I liked the oneshot on headshot more too
The accuracy makes me want to commit actual war crimes
I could see them adding more weapons at some point and maybe at damage dropoff?
Like if they would add a longer range weapon the revolver could one tap again at shortrange

You they just literally spawn them through a menu or actually enable them to function properly in game (spawn in map etc)

I personally have never downloaded mods or cheats for lockdown so I don’t know what it’s like on that end

Yeah, what i suggested is nerfing it. Lower damage and limited to 2 uses instead of 1 that way it can still be a viable last resort if your item gets knocked out of your hand.
How much damage were you thinking?
I don’t know the numbers of the fish (or any of the weapons) off the top of my head but it should be lowered
It’s 20 Damage 80 Stamina
First hit: 10D 40S
Second hit: 5D 15S
Totals to 15F 55S
These are just rough numbers off the top of my head ofc

Essentially what that would cause for optimal PvP is instead of the following actions (current)
1: Hit target with fish
2: Press E to swap to secondary
3: Hit target on back/front
4: IF 3 was a front hit, hit again
To now being,
1: Hit with fish
2: Throw 2nd half of fish
3: Press E to swap to backhand
4: Hit target on front as if the target hasn’t turned around by now they need to uninstall and seek help.
5: repeat an astounding 3 MORE times, totaling in 5 total hits.
When if you started with a cassette backstab the process would be
1: Backstab
2: Backstab/Front hit
3: IF 2 is a front hit, front hit again killing in either 2 or 3 hits
The cassette as a backstab already disarms the target, so removing the fishes damage means that it’s essentially pointless as a weapon and you should just carefully pick when to backstab someone rather than fish them.
I DO however LOVE the idea of HALVING the damage and giving it two uses but the second use doesn’t disarm (you’d be hitting them with the fish bones so logically it wouldn’t be slippery anymore) as this would remove the ability to catch enemies weapons mid air (you’d have the 2nd half of the fish in hand so you wouldn’t be able to catch anything) and would change the dynamic of fish slaps from outright stealing a weapon to both players scrambling to either grab the weapon or kill the other player first.
Definitely a decent balance in my opinion
I haven’t really put too much thought into the whole idea but I do think that the numbers can be tweaked for sure and even make it so a backstab would disarm them every time or something along those lines. I’m sure you can come up with a better way to balance this idea here since it seems like you know way more than I do lmao.

well not exactly, the item is best used as a last resort item and seems to be designed that way
as it only does 20 damage, but the stun 100 is the good part, making the player drop the help item
The stamina is 80 that’s the bit that makes the player drop an item. The 100 slow stops them, there is no “stun” statistic on it.
The cassette/container/battery/fuse only deals 90 slow, but deals the same 20 damage, 80 stamina, and that forces the player to drop an item as well. The slow is unrelated to the disarm, it’s that the stamina bar is completely drained on hit.

Honestly idk why y’all are tweaking out about fish, it’s literally worse than using a cassette tape.
Using a higher cooldown on the fishing animation wouldn’t do anything either.
