or that the dissendent can turn off the lights and everyone has a little flash light that turns on and that 3 people need to go to the pressure room to turn on the lights
and that the dissident has night vission

maybe each room has its own light panel, hitting it with a screwdriver or knife turns off that rooms power for 20s
stops any electrical stuff and lowers vision

Would the flashlights blind the dissident with night vision? I think that could be a good balance.

add this to the default game like add a breaker to the map

yeah if the dissident could turn off lights would be pretty awesome. I am kind of thinking, that everyone has flashlights on their vests by default, and there is a keybind you can turn it ON/OFF, so the dissident can go in pitch black.
Would have to be pretty balanced out as well, maybe a 10 second timer until the lights come back on or something though, if all the employees were new players, they might not ever be able to get them back on lol. Then maybe the Dissident has either a couple minute cooldown, or a limited number of uses to use it, maybe twice?
To make lights easier, a "backup generator" could supply power to light the area around the control box to turn the lights back on. There could also be dim lights on the ground that lead players to it as well. This would maintain the overall darkness while also giving all players regardless of experience, the ability to reach and repair the lights.
Maybe like a dim red border of light around the box so it doesn't reveal the surrounding area, but is obvious in the darkness.
The lighting is baked into the map and not real-time atm.

Settings
Light boxes | on - off (default off)
if light boxes is on it shows the following settings
Light duration | 15s - 120s (default 90s)
Flashlight battery | 20s - 120s (default 75% of light duration)
how it works: each room has its own light panel, the dissidents/anyone can stab a light panel with a knife, making the lights go out for the set duration, anyone can attempt to fix it, causing a 30 second quick time event to happen, if failed you take 20 damage and 50 stamina, if completed the lights go back on for that rooms, when the light panel is broken it also disables batteries for alimentations from working till fixed, and when lights are out everyone can press L by default to turn on flashlight, this gives a decent range of light but still enough for sneaking, when an employee is killed with the flashlight on, the flashlight drops near their body and stays on for 5s before turning off
TLDR light panels being broken cause lights to go down and some tasks to stop, L for flashlight and use knife to break lights
It shouldn't be a separate game mode. Maybe an exclusive dissident task to turn off lights, but something that can be easily fixed for employees.
Lights will not happen atm. The lighting in the map is baked in. Unless they do either post processing effect ( which will cost performance a ton ) or change to real-time lighting it won't happen unfortunately. Or they get rid of the current lightmap for the gamemode, but thats really pushing it.
(if it does happen) cameras should have night vision
