My Blind Character (Close-up in Thread)

Looking for names for him as well. Someone took the name I wanted (Guotian), so I need a new name that suits him.

He doesn't have any fleshed out lore yet, so I only have three facts about him at the moment. He's blind, he loves swords and trinkets, and he's an incredible bounty hunter.

Headcanons are welcome if they help with the naming process.

When I struggle with names, I put names I like into a word scrambler and play around with the letters to see if I find something I like. I tried scrambling the name you wanted, but the only names that came out of it that looked cool were:

• Goyan
• Tiano
• Naitou

He looks cool though. What is his alignment?

I usually do the same, but I wanted an authentic Chinese name for him, so I didn't do that this time. Unfortunately, all the other names I wanted to use for him were taken as well, so I'm hoping others have some name ideas.

That's fair on wanting an authentic name. I chose one for mine, but it's a letter off from what I wanted (Huoyan) because it was taken. But the current one has grown on me, haha. Maybe I can search up some more later today

Can't decide between younger (no beard) or older (beard), so I might just switch between the two every now and then

Hurt about the fact that I didn't get the Veiled Edge victory cutscene it would've been perfect for him

I do like his older look, but his younger one is good too. If I went with the younger, personally, I would slightly tweak his facial structure a bit, because he doesn't look as young. Just freshly shaved

I noticed that. I tried tweaking him, but I used the middle-aged slider at the beginning, so now, no matter what I do, he just looks freshly shaved. I guess I'll have to headcanon that the stress of the main story aged him physically in his younger years

I’ll use the younger look for the main story scenes and some outfits (for lore purposes), but I’ll definitely stick with the older look in general

I can't get rid the light stubble either, even when I completely remove it in the CC menu.. so I guess his younger version will be in his 30's instead of 16, lmao

Hmmm. Have you tried shortening his facial features/face? Bringing his jaw/jawline upwards a bit, etc? As for the stubble, yeah I've had that issue where it seems like the skin isn't as smooth no matter what I do to it. Even with the age slider at 0 lol. I did notice that the lighter the skin tone the less it's visible, so maybe that has some play in it. He still looks cool af though

I did try shortening them before, but they made him look a bit disproportional, so I left it as is. I'll see what I can do if I ever plan to sit down and work on his younger version

And ohh, yeah the skin tone might be the culprit. I gave him a slightly tanned olive skin tone

I do love the older version though (whether its early or late 30's), I'll just have to headcanon some of the lore for him to make sense in it

I don't know if you settled on a name yet, I added diacritical marks to my character's name and it wasn't taken that way

If you want, maybe I could try? YOu want him to canonically look the main character's age, but keeping his features?

I didn't choose a new name yet. I did want the name to have a cleaner look to it (for when our names show up during quests), so I didn't want to add diacritical marks to it. (I also wanted it to match the other character names visually)

I do! I still want him to look a bit mature though (as not all 16 year olds have baby faces)
