the south is for southern tang, and i believe the idea is that conquering the south is easier and will help them conquer the north.

also if i remember correctly, though i could be wrong, the north is colder? which is why it's meat + needs more resources than the south

north also required them fighting through the actual yanyun — the area thats a strategic fortress, which is a hard task. them being up there also makes them susceptible to getting supply route cut off for the army. Bottom right of Kaifeng there’s a quest that will take you to her boss arena

Or you can go to the arena during the hour of the wolf

Make sure you grab the useless lock in the ghost market so you can complete her story after you beat her and revisit her arena

You have to turn it in to her after you win

Although if you haven’t progressed the main story of the game enough you will be unable to even reach Kaifeng. So make sure you complete Chapter 1 of the story, and progress Chapter 2 at least until the massive city.

There are some Hollow Vale NPCs at their "base" in mistveil forest, BUT they aren't wearing HV uniform but Sworn Cohort shop skin. Lore-wise, they're a group of people shunned from society for unorthodox (&dangerous) medical research practices, and some – for being infected with Sleep Puppet Curse, so there aren't much of them outside of sect territory

Feng Yi, in text about their meeting, also used normal sword, and during bossfight he uses different animations from the two

It's mostly a "haha funny" kind of question, I'm really happy that they gave siblings a consistent and recognizeable fighting style (same as Young Master can be recognized for using Jiang Yan's style)

YM is in a new location, without the whole village to support him. [Ex: if you get arrested in Blissful Retreat, the villagers give you to Aunt Han, not Constable. He knew the punishment in Ch2 is much higher than in Ch1, where everyone were "on his side". Also, YM got scammed&robbed two or three times as soon as he stepped foot into Kaifeng suburb, so he was on high alert towards Yingying and little Fu, two of the Main Cast, for the best part of the story.] Who won't be less reckless & whimsical in his position? It's like if you move to a new town for university you'll be acting differently from your hometown school, even if it was just 2-3 months.

Not to mention the trauma he got after Witch almost killed him and everyone he was close to died/disappeared and few remaining pretend he's dead. This is also influencing his mood and attitude.

You can actually see some of YM's whimsy back in one of the quests, when he isn't in the middle of investigation/political action and is accordingly serious, give me a second to pull it up

the wandering tale you can do before or after Jinming, but there's an encounter quest in Pipa Chasm that's the proper conclusion to Murong's story

That wandering tales only makes sense after jinming pool, they should have locked it till you finish the campaign
