uhh basically? lol i dont know i just spend alot of time in photo mode in every game that has it, so taking the time to see what settings work with what really helps, honestly with lighting as long as you understand how light works even basic you should be fine, otherwise just use the custom lighting to achieve the effect you are looking for

this basically is how much of the background you want in the photo the zoom button on mouse wheel will base the zoom perspective off it

so the closer the focal length the less background but the more zoom you are able to get

if you really wanna get close to the face put focal length at the very end ( 0 ) then use mouse wheel to zoom in even more

sometimes for a good angle i actually take photos near a wall, the wall helps with zoom but it really hit or miss

if your clothes are too stale in a photo or want some movement in the hair you cann use the wind but i like using the winds and moving the character then using freeze frame to pause to get a good static pose with dynamic movement

Okay so... first you pick a place and position, then a pose. LIke say... lady staring at a bright morning

To make it stylish, add wind speed and direction. usually to the side that doesnt cover your body or face

Then set eyes to look at camera, set emote to fit, and just keep moving camera and freeze time to get the character to look at a certain direction

Focal length for extreme zoom in or out, aperture for DoF effect, DoF is used when you want to focus on the character, dont use it if you want the focus to be everything else

Then pick the best time to pick the best shadow, or if you want it to be morning/ night/ noon, etc. in this case i want it to be morning and i want the shadow to slightly cover the face

Weather is usually an instant cheat, just picking rain you already got a good lighting out of it

But anyway we want morning so, i just pick overcast.

From here if you want sharp color, pick high contrast, if you want pale pastel color, pick low contrast.

Color temperature is blue-ish or yellow-ish, combine that with hue. in this case i want bright blue morning

Bloom is a bit hard to explain, but basically it makes light more blinding. if you max it then there's no light bleed. if you min it then it makes ethereal glow in everything, which fits the theme im going with

Now if we switch to night, glow stuff is better but dont overdo it. in this case the shawl from the crane outfit is glowy. but if you play with bloom (medium/ low treshold, high intensity) it becomes magical

But the background is a bit boring, so rotate character + camera and you get to this one. nicer background, but now moonlight isnt in front of the character anymore and makes it too dark, this is where we add custom lights

You can pick any of the available custom lights, but if you're unhappy with it. go with actual custom. make your own

The sliders can be a bit overwhelming but generally you just move those circles thing around your character

I generally just go by feels, but to explain it. you want it to blend with the environment. like if the background is glowy then you want the character to be slightly glowy.

If the background is dark and the character is super bright it'll look out of place.

And you want the light source to at least fit the environment, in this case the background is bright so you want at least one light source from the back

Also, filter helps if you cant balance it
