If you're asking about pity it stays so you can build towards pity without worrying. Also if you happen to be lucky enough to get either the outfit or the mount, DO NOT CLAIM IT IN YOUR INVENTORY. If you hover over it you can choose 'more' instead of 'use' and convert them into harmonic cores.

So here's more info for clarity:

Harmonic cores are basically gacha currency, you can horde them forever inbetween each banner. They can be aqcuired either by pulling from the gacha OR disessembling a cosmetic in the gacha into a Core. IF YOU GET SOMETHING YOU DONT WANT, do NOT equip it. It will be IN YOUR BAG, there you can disessemble it.
