In China we call ourselves 百姓 bai xing, because we may have hundreds of last name but we're all regular people. It should never be them against us. Confucianism which we Chinese have as foundation of our philosophical values believes in treating others well so other would do so in turn. Unfortunately its because its easier to form together by taking sides that are easily identifiable. I think I'm one of the outlier because while I was born in China I was mostly raised in the United State. I've received my share of discrimination growing up as well as being looked down upon by my own people sometime seen as a traitor. It has taken a lot out of me mentally even detrimental to my life that affects me today. But for me I hold firm in the values I was taught that for society to be better people must be better and that we shouldn't allow our inner hatred, those thats that are more like animal natures than human to manifest.

It's important to separate the fine line of right and wrong instead of taking the easy path and apply wholesale values that often results in simply different people becoming victims of hate.

So I learned to listen, i learned to pay attention to how people act, how they speak, everything, and let me tell you it isn't easy, for alot of people. It's something you have really REALLY earn.

Because then you get the ability to predict patterns, what kind person this may be just from your gut feeling and information alone, still not judging even when the gut feeling gets better or worse, and other stuff.

As it's always more predictably reliable to milk the current customer base as guaranteed income, than to gamble on new players coming in (In the eyes of the finance department anyways). Usually corporate sees the game more as a profit/loss product with little to no emotional investment into it, especially localisation ports where it's a ctrl+C ctrl+V and going in and changing the text language, compared to creating a new product from scratch.
Player leaves > Profit goes down > More aggressive monetisation and cost cutting > More players leave > Profit goes more down > Even more aggressive monetisation and cost cutting > Even more players leave > etcetc

We're hoping the price discrepency doesn't become a trend as once the snowball starts rolling, it becomes harder and harder to stop, as servers need to be paid for, it becomes impossible to save the project without going into the negatives through investing even more into marketing/infrastructure(Better servers, dev time to fix the problem), like No Man's Sky was an example. They had to deal with mass refunds, and operated on a loss for over a year or so of development before they gained player trust back by fixing the game, and now they're successful. Not many companies are willing to do that and I'm hoping this incident isn't the beginning of a snowball, since we have a good thing going with all the good PR, high player numbers, there isn't a need for this aggressive of dark pattern abuse yet.

I get the annoyance, and you must not have seen my previous post history in this channel, but you're trying to co-opt my statement into a narrative when I'm explaining to people interested in how to systematically build golds ingame while not detracting too heavily from playing normally.

There is a way to obtain more golds and focus on stockpiling them reasonably and at a cheap rate with a service you should be buying if you cared that much to play that much. That's what I'm giving an idea on, for instance many people didn't know you can get a third gold pull each week from the appearance tab in the seasonal shop if you max out jade fish. That's already 50% more gold pulls a week from the expected norm, which will matter over time for anyone that cares about farming them.

You can push 3 a week from engagement. Those are the most fluid ones, you can also stockpile static gains from permanent progression event milestones, ingame progression reward milestones, and first clears on martialist duels in the open world.

Even some of the straight buy skins that aren't that expensive and can be further reduced by the stackable 10% off coupons have variants, so do some free ones you unlock by pve farming, for example. But just about all gold tier type skins have a variant of some sort.

The gacha is incredibly wack, it has no warmup phase leading up to the pity like most modern gacha, the rates are less than 1% for rateup rewards, the purple rarity rewards are insanely cheeks tier bad 90% of the time so the value you would normally get of a guaranteed purple per 10 pull is severely reduced, and the residual currency from pulling while cute, doesn't carry nearly as much as it should. The 1 per month 10% off cash shop ticket for 15 silver gacha essence is sick, I guess. The gacha is very money heavy and distastefully outdated compared to modern times. I doubt the CN server has it as bad, either. So I would be very careful when you choose to spend. Maybe they'll add bundles for gold pulls + yadda yadda later or something.

From what I have heard CN has cheaper pulls and someone said the silver gacha pity also impacts the gold banner for the reward or something to that effect. They also have the black market NPC who lets you earn pearls in the game by selling gacha rewards to other players, but that mechanic was entirely ripped out of our version without notice so far. For instance, the 30 day service for 5 bucks, those 90,000 coins are supposed to be the coins used for that black market NPC in the ghost market for that. They definitely get treated better, and several people said the step up gacha we got for veiled edge isn't even legal to do in CN like that, which is why the drama is not an accident or whoopsies.

You would get 300 pearls per 5 bucks, so between the coupons stacking up to 50% off, you'll naturally be able to get cool stuff still without relying on gacha.

I also recognize the team has to divert from their original work to spend time on fixing the controversy, and those efforts scale to how much compensation we are demanding to feel it's worth having faith in them again. They scale in value relative to when you first enter a new region, have no teleport checkpoints, and all your lightness skills are re-locked. The 1 dollar horse with auto travel also has a passive to loot dead enemies for you if you let it follow you instead of dismiss when getting off of it. Wayfinder also allows you to target things nowhere near a teleport point and fast travel to it, during which you can pee, do something else, etc. I also mostly stay on foot, especially as map knowledge goes up, but it has it's niches and uses. You still get far more value out of it than 1 dollar spent. It will also come in clutch when new content drops a new region.
