Wolf maiden was zheng family's noblewoman but escaped and was raised by wolves (zheng is quite a common surname, she might/might not be related to zheng e, it wasn't stated). One day the ghost revelry hall's dog tamers came and caught her along with the wolves, she escaped once again but fell in front of a brothel, the manager was disgusted by her since she was covered with wounds, it was then YingChun (she's a top courtesan) came and carried her back. Ying Chun took care of her really well despite the others telling YingChun not to spend too much effort with her, YingChun taught her how to read & write, and it was said that the first word she has ever spoken was chun (春, means spring). She would come back late and bring flowers for yingchun everyday. She then asked how much money is needed to buy YingChun, and started saving up money, yet YingChun is getting old and sick (the madam of the brothel wanted to squeeze up YingChun's value and kept letting her serve customers). She stayed by YingChun's side all this time, until she slapped 3 coins on the counter, wanting to buy YingChun (at this time, yingchun is already dead). The person leading the way prepared a mat, but just like when they both first met, she carried YingChun and disappeared, returning to the wolves.

Yet she didn't understand why liyun wanted to do so (at that time she joined mohist through her mother's keepsake). LiShouJie blurred the truth and said it was yanzhao who killed liyun (rongyuan couldn't believe how yanzhao would sacrifice his best friend, not to mention it was her father), she betrayed mohist and returned to kaifeng, wanting to know the truth from yanzhao. Yet when she returned, yanzhao's mental state was spiraling and couldn't give her an answer (that was the first time she had ever called yanzhao father too). The song court intend to build a warship for the southern campaign, but after knowing the actual truth from shimmer of south (that is was liyun who wanted to die, and yanzhao had to do the favour of his best friend), her hatred cost her too much, that she even built a warship for the song court (who is the true enemy), thus she installed explosives, changed the diagram, and through YM who got swept in again, she managed to have a convincing "death", and hid her true identity.

However the biggest difference is that the score of the sect cohort (80 people) is totaled together. If the entire group reaches a certain threshold then more people gets promoted. At the first level if there is a whale then everyone gets promoted, a reasonable level that's easily reachable is still 70 of 80 promoted.

the biggest drawback is that partnerships are prohibited in the Masked Troupe... You can keep your existing one but you can't marry anyone new. Plus you can't do "Hearts of Harmony" or that partnership mystic skill emote. At rank 4 of the sect you can't even do the partnership emotes (wall trap, heart you, bridal carry, etc) with anyone.

I don't know specifics but I know that a trope in cultivation fiction is that if you cultivate your Qi improperly, you can Qi deviate, which could have consequences from mild to fatal.
