i just finished all the tales and echoes on qinghe and dang who knew that tian ying was the main character of qinghe
a gold leaf
its a very long side quest i havent finished the part 2 and 3 yet
I chose the pastry
what did zheng ran said after?
Uhm, not sure it was a while back, what did she say after you chose '' a gold leaf'' ?
not sure either i've been finishing qinghe for quite a while now, but after chose that you'll go meet someone and that's where the long quest starts
earlier i just got a secret ending on qinghe after finishing the tales and echoes and rn im finishing the wandering tales
Probably is the same, I dont remember though
probably
Isnt that quest going to expire soon, you should finish it asap
Where in the lore do they explain why hair dye is so rare? (actual question)
there is no actual lore specific that question afaik
but you can just remember that white hair has a high meaning within the whole Wuxia/Xianxia world
Most ppl who has white-hair (besides old people) are usually very wise and strong people who mastered their own body and reached a next level
This is the summarized version
You could probably go way deeper into that topic
but im too lazy

Iām speechlessā¦..
š
the simple reason for hair dye is that people have black hair, its harder to dye black hair so ones that work properly are going to be rare.
Aran is such a sweet girl
Either is fine it gives her hope
We are emperor
It's confirmed š due to a bug from a CN player revealing his mask
YES š
Kaifeng man..
Can i still 100% qinghe even if im already done with cHapter 1 like blissful retreat is now in ruins and do i miss some side quests
Whatās Yanyun? The country the game set in? The city? Region? Iām confused
Wait. So our character is Wang's kid?
Just whyyyy
Why would you share this
no the masked figure that took the pendant was our uncle
And why would he do that?
Anyone knows if Qian Ye is dead or not? Maybe she came back already in chinese server?
story reasons
My girl became A MAN? š š
emperorette
No real talk I don't think it's possibleeee there must be anot-- EmperoRETTE
𤣠𤣠𤣠𤣠š¤£
its the region the khitans took over
Dont tell me she is going to die too š¢
I chose pastry and it went back to choosing but with the leaf as the only option
Yup
wait, is the land we currently inhabit the land of Jianghu?
How strong our character in lore? I think our character surpassed yi dao after blissfull retreat got destroyed
Hmm
An economically and militarily important piece of land that was ceded to the Khitans
Jianghu refers to "the world out there" beyond conventional societies. The realm of martial artist power struggles, wandering heroes and outlaws
ah, so it's more of a..... not physical thing
Closest western equivalent is "the streets" where it symbolizes a social space governed by personal honor, loyalty, and martial skill rather than official laws
Itās like pokemon
I assume the greater lands beyond (physically speaking) is just China? like the greater whole of everything is china. or is it not china?
Game is set in turbulent historical fiction version of Song dynasty China, geographically slightly north of current day Beijing
It means lands in world, not involving ocean
"the streets" is governed by personal honor, loyalty, and martial skill??
Closest equivalent
Back then those jianghu people believed earth was flat.
Could be
Do you one better, they think their land is the center of everything
While being flat and square
tbf a lot of ancient civilizations thought like that. idk about the flat and square one tho
idk I think we are being hidden so why would someone hide a poor persons kid.. idk
I know that people knew the earth was spherical for a really long time, so Idk maybe that'll tell us when this game takes place
huh. The silk road is pretty established at that era. They're actively trading with the byzantines
Stated at the start of the game that its in turbulent period between 910 to late 960
rather than thinking their land is the center of everything I think it's their way of forming the map and form their strategies and plan, which I think is fine
I'm looking this stuff up. I'm not really sure, but it seems like.... some people knew it was round and other people... didn't? a lot of the western ish world kinda knew it was round at the time.
so I suppose this flat and square thing makes sense for the time
Emperor Taizu became emperor in 960, so we are definitely on 960+
it seems like the more sciency people were convinced and the less sciency people were not convinced
*before the song dynasty
yeah I think this is more likely. After all the public only starting to believe earth is circular after we fully circumvented the earth. And that happened in 1500+
In the "World" section of of the Journal, under "Factions" there's a list of Historical Events - that have dates and regnal names, but nothing else. Is this just something that hasn't come into the WW release yet? Like "Northern Vow" has "946 CE - Third Year of Kaiyun" but doesn't actually what happened. Am I missing something or is it just not in game?
Constantly growing
It's like the jianghu is like how adventurer to us in the west
Like the mindset of most adventurers
While technically the main character gets is xia
Northern vow is just in world faction not irl
I'd say 962 for in game time period. With events happening in 908 still within living memory
That's just an example. All the factions have "Historical Events" with dates, but nothing more.
Ah mb sorry I misunderstood
No worres š I just want to know what happened haha. Maybe I'll check with someone who played the CN version!
they got me for freaking out on 61. im in shambles
we are 962, that being said the game does open in the 5 dynasty and 10 kingdoms warring period, which ig if you lived back then you would still think you are in. the characters dont know that the song dynasty will last 300 yrs
the wars haven't really wrapped up yet either so for all they know emperor taizu is just like kingdom 11
When will we have 10 kingdoms loving period @jaunty coyote
when they release velvet shade
i will marry all 10 kingdoms
I feel like velvet shade is more spy sect why is it considered the love sect
velvet shade and nine mortal ways are the same sect one is just rich and pretty
i feel like they do the same thing š one just has plastic surgery and money
mess around with people, spy, steal things, spy some more, sell expensive probably illegal things, spy
Velvet shade uses beauty and prestige to get information, nine mortal ways is more using common means and numbers and rats
Velvet shade members make love by saying "you wanna have sects"
go have sects with urself
Not sure where I'd ask this, but why do the hats have holes in the top of them? I imagine it would sorta make wearing a hat a bit pointless since the top of your head is still exposed to the sun and thus would be heated up and make you feel hot
to accommodate a hair bun or top knot, a common hairstyle in ancient China
then I suppose it's rather annoying that pretty much every hairstyle clips with the hats....
On the contrary, it actually is a lot cooler having the top of your head evaporating sweat than having it covered by straw through ventilation.
The biggest cooling factor, shade, is not affected.
It is also lighter and able to accommodate more head sizes so it doesn't need to be tailor made for each individual, you can more or less pass it around for everyone without a tiny head.
you also gotta consider the fact that the world was colder than it is today
though I wish china had a similar hat to the korean's gat
do you think you can hula hoop a hat with the topknot
the real question is will we ever have a short hair for men
I think there's one battle pass outfit that has a short hair
i look up to you master I haven't gotten it yet
Back then we dont have hairdressers
The latest outfit has short hair comparatively but it looks dorky to me
Give me WuYue kingdom or I riot
I mean I'm not asking for a fade but I suppose that's just a wuxia thing to have every men in long hair lol
If you can change china history, do it in game. I prefer the way we are right now.
what, have every men with long hair?
Ya. Send a modern hairdresser back to song dynasty
that's heretical š
there is one hairstyle you can unlock in that one house with the mirror that has..... short hair I guess. it's more like a medium hair, but it's the shortest hairstyle I've seen (aside from the bald one)
it isn't actually, filial piety dictates even your hair is a gift from your parents and you should not cut it, back in the day
Itās considered honouring your family to have long hair lmao. Cutting hair is akin to a death penalty
that's why it was a huge thing when the manchus came in and made everyone shave...
yeah I just googled, so it's kinda like the Sikhs' thing ig
how does it work with monks tho, since they're bald
overwrote the other belief š¤£
They sever ties to family to serve the dharma. So itās symbolic of them leaving worldly ties (ancestor and family) behind
what about the dots on the forehead
I remember Krillin have them too
Basically hair = family respect and monks have no ties except to temple hence giving up family.
technically aunt han gave us up after the fire š©
Perhaps this wwm is the only game where short hair or bald is banned. They are considered as not filial.
Monks on the other hand, they arenāt bald btw. They got 6 dented dots on their heads.
Nuns by the way, not sure in song dynasty but they are fully covered up from head to toes.
are the masks supposed to look rather unsettling?
Tbh the monks argue it too. Itās supposed to be ritual scarification for āhigher faithā but I donāt think most modern monks do it anymore at least in chan Buddhism
Coz the dots are painful to implement af
Traditionally people do it by burning it with incense
More painful than tattoos
like slavebrand?
Almost the same pain as becoming eunuch
Itās basically a nicer cig burn tbh. Iāve not seen a modern monk with it but older generations does it
We havenāt given her up tho so long hair it is š
Itās supposed to only be given if the monk wants it (not supposed to be forced) so itās more likened to rite of passage scarification. Tho there is one interesting origin proposed that itās for the emperor to keep track of where the monks are so maybe under that interpretation
can we use that justification to have short hair in-game? š¤ maybe like a stray monk who become faithless and let the hair grew back
Uh technically you can but we have a backstory no?
Honestly a better reasoning for short hair is āburned off in heavens pier fireā š
what season does the game take place in? or is there a good indicator of what sort of temperature range this game has.
I see some people (mostly peasants) wearing the sort of clothing you might imagine seeing in a place that is very hot and humid, but I also see some people (mostly nobility) wearing something you might see in a very cold place.
Do you guys have suggestions for the journal in game? Like where it asked about diplomatic relations? Feel like this would be something you'd know about š§
Im very lost
I think for a game like this it varies from location to location
No need to stress over that
Not yet at least
Yeah one region is ice and snow
Thank you Mr. Shovel Sand into my Gaping Mouth š
I can say that it's not winter in Kaifeng or Qinghe
But thankfully we do have a clue
the pear blossoms flowers in the flower expanse indicate it's spring
would anyone know what i might've missed here?
was practically certain i 100%'d those areas, its in the world tab
so it's not really harvest season yet
I'm not sure what the farmland in Qinghe was looking like but Kaifengs grain seems to be readily harvested
so it's not consistent at all
You have better luck in #š±beginner-questions
shiii aight
Try clicking the picture and see what's missing
I think it does mention what season it is during idle NPC conversations but we tend to forgor
honestly not sure what im looking at
ah nvm im blind
missing a historical event
Still not a lore related conversation sadly xD ask in #š±beginner-questions next time so it doesn't flood chat
š¤
would this count then?
If we are talking about Wang Qing then honestly we could be
But my bet would be on || Li Zuo actually being the father ||
Hehe wang qing
Hehehe
Bro you know it ain't haha but if you got lore questions hop on over š¤£
brother its tough enough sifting through 90 questions of the same thing im doing this to find the lore n what not
That just made me laugh, but sadly Qing is almost always read as Ching in wuxia
Li zuo is that the famous body positivity singer
Hey at least we did answer your question
i mean yeah cheers for that big man
And as seen in the prologue of the game the Jade is important not just the baby, the Zhenguan jade to be exact
Well looking up how big deal jade is it's big deal even in non wuxia ancient china
Is the touch of death a type of meridian touch or is it just digging your fingers into their heads lol
There is an animation that slaps enemies to death or chopping the back of their neck so could be digging the fingers into the head
if you click them you should get a menu that gives an overview of what you missed
I mean it's said to strike enemy vitals
I see the ones if your standing mostly look non lethal but the one where you drop from a height looks like you straight up just dig your finger into their skull like those old wuxia films
Cool jw for clarification a friend was asking and made me wonder
and meridian touch is explained to be an acupoint art
yea i saw that now its just a problem of where
playing that warboat quest, I also noticed all the soldiers have shaved their heads, is there a reason for that?
Probably a punishment
sorry, i mixed it up a bit! in journal > sentient beings should give a better view, and you can click to open map for a quick tp
It's kinda looked down upon to have your heads shaved
Idk... I don't imagine elite soldiers would be made up of punished soldiers or whatever
ah i see, thank you
Or crush their heads onto the pavement
only reason I can think of is practicality but idk
The whole breakthrough mechanic might be needed for gameplay balance but lore wise it seems pretty immersion breaking. What could be good in game/lore reasons for the world to power up with you?
Yeah in ancient china it's believed that hair are gifts from parents so you can't cut them off. Only criminals or Buddhist monks get shaved.
example
I'm looking at one of the guys begging for mercy and they seem to have short almost shaved hair.
Well you're more powerful than them so I would believe it's like a way to show they're not easy but you make a valid point
even the strongest martial artists can be killed by regular ruffians if they completely let their guard down
i guess
in my headcanon, the touch of death is the kakashi fingermove
My first time using it the enemy was standing on a block so my finger did go in the butt
It's what keeps this as wuxia and not xianxia imo. We're superhuman, but not super powered
maybe it would be revealed to us through our MC's origin, like some sort of deity in disguise/reincarnation (swk?)
You should say that to the people who are insistent that WWM is xianxia lmao.
Nah we're most likely related to the main villain Li Zuo.
is there anything in the CN version that hinted at this?
I feel like it's borderline at times, especially with the god of avarice and qianye fights. But it's attempting to stay wuxia
They had whole domains lol
Or avarice with his dharma body
tianying went ras al ghul lol
The trailers? It shows Jiang Yan facing off against Li Zuo while holding the baby MC. There's also some info I got from CN players though I'm unsure if this is speculations on their part or if it's confirmed. Allegedly, ||the MC also has the immortality gu in their body and the jade they were holding was suppressing it||
Yeah I would call it Wuxia with a spice of Xianxia but WWM definitely wont' go full Xianxia with the whole ascension thing.
what's a gu?
It's hinted at in Gleaming Abyss...
I have no idea in regards to CN but in gleaming abyss the Void king did see Li Zuo in us
I need to watch that cutscene again coz I forgot š
The lore of Gleaming Abyss is that, ||a long time ago, there was a figure known as an Immortal, though I canāt remember their exact title. They were able to live for an extremely long time thanks to a special parasite that allowed its host to extend their lifespan. The downside, however, was that the parasite also dampened the hostās emotions, slowly turning them cold and empty inside.||
||Sun Buqi became fascinated by this phenomenon and began experimenting on Liu Qingyi(?), who eventually went mad and wanted to die. Later on, Li Zuo also discovered the existence of the parasite and decided that the only way to end suffering was to make everyone immortal.||
Spice of xanxia for sure some fights are xanxia level
Tbf making a game with a very grounded wuxia battles is hard
Not enough flairs and explosions
It's honestly pulling it's punches
ah thank you, that whole dungeon confused me, the whole time I was under the impression that one of the ghostly figure is the deer deity or something (and my mind was trying to connect them to the madness disease the town was afflicted with) especially after we saw two person literally transformed into stone statues(?)
Like how we always knew how to do the dragon head but wasn't strong enough to figure it out yet
The immortal deer deity is Liu Qingyi, who wore a mask and went outside to help the villagers.
anybody have any idea how to trigger "a study in slacking"?
was the town madness disease her doing?
No that's Sun Buqi I think.
what about the two villagers who transformed to stone statues (the entrance of the dungeon)
is that like magic or something?
You can only successfully become a host if your body has been conditioned by poison or something similar, which makes it very difficult to become infected. Liu Qingyi had a special physique that made the experiment successful, and Sun Buqi wanted to recreate that result by slowly poisoning the villagers. The so-called ālongevity fruitā was actually a lie that Sun Buqi created to carry out the poisoning.
that is the same poison that turn people into dream puppet yes?
Not sure but yeah the dream puppet and Dawn to Dusk poison are also Sun Buqi's work
which one is dawn to dusk poison? the gleaming abyss one?
The misty area in Kaifeng, but you also encounter zombies in the Gleaming Abyss
ah I haven't got that far in kaifeng
so i just did the Twisted Fate sidequest and i have no idea what just happened. Kind of the gist but not rlly the finer details. Jiang was adopted by some general, stuff happens, he's involved with the general who died....twice? And now some guy who looked up to the general is trying to hunt Jiang but is misinterpreting the situation because it was kept secret or something
Jiang Yan is the son of a high-ranking member of the Well of Heaven, who was once an old friend of Wang Qing. When the old friend died while trying to help Wang Qing, Wang Qing adopted Jiang Yan.
Years later, a war broke out against the Khitans. During a particularly dire moment, He Ran went to deliver a box that he believed could help win the war. However, inside the box was actually poison that would turn a person into a dream puppet/zombie. Wang Qing was hit with it, and Jiang Yan had no choice but to kill him. That is why Wang Qing ādiedā twice.
The Aurate Pavilion then spread false news claiming that Jiang Yan had killed Wang Qing. That is why Jiang Yan is being hunted.
Sun is the guy inside the cave with the woman?
No that's Li Zuo
Hows Li Zuo fitting into all this , iirc he turned evil
He's the main villain. His discovery of the immortality gu makes him obsessed with turning everyone immortal and creating an eternal dynasty
alright that feels like amore comprehensible line of events. I feel like the whole zombie poison thing wasnt clear. I knew it was poison but i dont remember reading that detail
You mean he's the guy with those flying bugs?
The guy with white hair yeah
i appreciate that he is just wuxia miraculous ladybug
No he's Hawkmoth
wait another miraculous fan?
you think hes gonna turn out to be our evil dad ? š
Possibly?
And maybe this whole thing is a battle for custody of the MC between Jiang Yan and Li Zuo.
Idk about that one lowkey
he aint my real dad š he never paid child support
tell me all the story pls I don t know all
If he was actually the mcs father it wouldnāt really do anything for us and li zuo
he aint really the guy out here going for a custody battle either
our life has been in danger due to this man schemes
thats just the average wuxia father
its like shonen dads, always putting you in danger
I thought this wild theory is based on the bombastic info I got from CN players about how the MC ||has the Immortality Gu and that the Jade is suppressing it. So Iām wondering whether weāre related to Li Zuo, though itās also possible weāre just a random kid he picked up to experiment on with the Immortality Gu. Again, just a theory. Take it with a sea-worth of salt.||
it wouldnāt really do much
Having the Zhenguan Jade means weāre hail from a lineage of some power and backing
Competing with Gendo Ikari to become the worst dad in history
so we can say that we arenāt some bum in the Qinghe streets
ruby is dead? or not
Dead
hmm interesting, why would uncle jiang want it back tho?
are u sure?
š¤ ging freecs
Dunno. We don't have enough info yet
She got pinned down by arrows she aint surviving this one
maybe its just his outfit
Yes unless there's a cutscene showing her alive. I always assume a character is dead with that kind of portrayal.
we see her in heaven's pier heaven so yeah...
yh maybe
There isnāt alot of ways she can survive tbh
Like she canāt really go anywhere she is just a little kid
mhhh
tbh it would make sense why we would be stolen at the beginning, but mostly we are just meming because in miraculous ladybug the villain who uses bugs to turn people evil is the main character's dad
Yeah but Iām wondering why would we be taken away š
I mean the trailers show Jiang Yan facing off against Li Zuo with MC in his arms.
custody battle fr
with swords
There is also the theory of us being the biological son of uncle jiangās adoptive father
Whoever it is gotta be someone renowned anyways
i mean it would make sense li zuo would want their heir back and we are so hidden, gotta establish a dynasty somehow
There is one big problem with that too
Yeah that's another popular theory that MC is Wang Qing's kid
I donāt think Li Zuo would want a heir
His goals and motivations would not include a baby
Maybe he just used MC for experiment :v
is wang qing prominent enough to have people fighting over us tho?
He wants an eternal dynasty so I donāt think he would want a son
Very. He's super popular.
Infact I think he is the kind of guy to kill his heirs
he's popular but he isn't emperor lvl no? man's just a popular general
like he doesnt have dynastic/kingdom claims
In Jianghu I would argue that maybe he's even at Chai Rong's level. Since he gathers tons of martial artists to establish Northern Vow.
The Zhenguan Jade isnāt that renowned where only kings can have claim to it
the Zhenguan Jade isn't imperial jade
A generalās child could have owned it
aight but once they had the jade there was no point in keeping our identity secret then? I assumed the jade was one part (proving who we are) but the important thing is us
itās evidence thatās ties us to our family yeah
and I can't find how us being wang qing's kid could be used by anyone other than being like 'oh thats cool'
take it away and we have 0 documentation and evidence
I think the jade is more important lol since those people who hunted Jiang Yan mentioned the Jade and not MC.
i assumed people didn't know we are alive only that the jade is out there, but like 'we are the jade' kinda thing
otherwise why keep it with a baby
Eh idk such is the struggle of making theories. We have too little info atm.
Being Wan Qings son makes more sense than Li Zuoās to me
Doesn't explain why the Void King mistook MC as Li Zuo though so there has to be connection between them.
Unless we find out we have a special physique that completes Li Zuo's goal
or it could be the other way around like Li Zuo wants us dead thats why he's trying to find us
Maybe we are a c section baby somehow harvest by Qinyi but that sounds crazy
Uncle Jiang is like wtf you can't kill a baby
Maybe the jade is like Harry Potter scar. We gonna have voldemort.
Or lord of the ring? One jade to rule them all.
or maybe li zuo is actually dead and the guy is an imposter heheheheh
I keep forgetting li zuo. Who is he again
awful convenient man dodged his historical death
and then made a whole sect of imposters
Emperor Ai. Last Emperor of the original Tang.
to my understanding these bottle things are gourds that have gone through some process to turn them into bottles, so am I to believe this is a gigantic gourd that has undergone that process and just placed here?
main villain white hair
It was memorable to know chai rong but i canāt remember for the life of me on who is li zuo
It's just vibes
White haired guy with insects.
Oic
i think the real li zuo is dead and the guy is an imposter and we are somehow proof of that
evidence? idk vibes
Wait last emperor of tang?
does the insect dude appear in kaifeng? I don't remember him appearing anywhere during the campaign
The current tang isn't the og tang. The og tang is long gone.
he is in the intro cutscene? I think
In the prologue
If you say like that, li zuo is 35 years old now
yeah irl he was a child puppet emperor that was killed like in his teens. in game tho he is alive like 60 yrs later with white hair and an assassin group ....somehow
He's older... iirc
How is he 60 yrs old when the year is 930
game is 962
Oh
Still looks young and fresh though
Amazing game and its free btw guys
its all the aureate pavilion plastic surgery...that wuxia botox fr
He showed up in the intro, and 2 3 times after that in Qinghe, he didn't appear in Kaifeng. If u did glimming abyss then he's the guy in spirit form
Btw does anyone know when we're gonna get some new stories? I'm dying here... don't tell me I gotta wait for 3 months?
Probably roaring sands soon, to wrap up kaifeng then the long wait for season 2
We still have the imperial city in Kaifeng that we canāt get into right
Or is that tied to a side quest
Let me in!!! I wanna go in
I'll clear roaring sands in a day fr
Going to go in to terrorize big and smol Zhao myself
Savor it when it comes, or the dead weeks are gonna feel like an eternity till season 2
This game is an exercise in self control from the gacha to the quest locking.
Maybe a month until roaring sands, a month for imperial city and then we get CNY event whatever it is and then new chapter?
in the meantime there gotta be better way to access these notes in my inventory
need a degree in investigative journalism the way how exposition is laid out
if this is really the case not gonna lie I'm pretty bummed out. If it takes that long my buddies are definitely gonna stop playing..
anyone have any idea about the settlement building thing? I imagine that feature is released on the next map expansion?
OH. I remember now. They killed the deer
What exactly are immortals?
Infinite age
Canāt die to age
Isnt lunar new years around febuarary anyway, that's when season 2 comes out too lol
The name explains that much..how does one become immortal in that case? Like achieve a certain god level martial mastery?
Tho tbh in wuxia they just use it to refer to anyone who is powerful enough. Like how people call gaming pros āgodsā but they arenāt actually gods
A šŖ±
Usually in these stories you have to specifically cultivate for it.
To actually be immortal
Immortals are kinda easier to understand if you read cultivation novels, they are cultivators who have achieved immortality and ascend to higher realm
Wuxia murim manhwa and manhua have those right?
There are cultivations in Wuxia and murim but not to the point of immortality
š¤Æ
Once in a while you get a ākindaā like ye baiyi in that one danmei is immortal but only under very specific circumstances
(He canāt eat or drink mortal food or leave his mountain or he will start aging again)
I guess no one has the answer.. I've been trying to find out when I can finally build the next Blissful Retreat.... Everytime I ask about the settlement building everyone seems to ignore me entirely
Bro lasted 100 yrs before giving up and eating noodles
Canāt you just build on free land wherever you find it?
With F4
well.. I'm talking about the stuffs where we can hire workers, build beds for them, and make them produce stuffs
Oh yeah we donāt have that yet. Probably later update
I watched it on YT. CN server has that feature. So actually building working settlement
Tbh I think they will focus on getting mobile out first before their next big game update
And thatās dec 12
Yeah that sounds logical. I guess it's inevitable. Guess I'll take a short break and play again once they added next major feature
Qianye better start cleaning her neck, next time she show up I'll chop her neck
b
Isn't there supposed to be a Lunar update and then another update?
I have a feeling it will be a long time yet until we meet her. Have to be a really proven jianghu to face the pillar of Aureate pavilion. Han Xiangxun and Yi Dao couldn't beat her.
They will probably do the new year event along with season 2 release
We have this and itās called sim city
Different game
lol. Thanks for the recommendation? Try Cities Skylines tho. Sim City is obsolete
but yeah, I'm pretty hyped and gonna be spending hundreds of hours building my own Blissful Retreat once it comes out
Everything is expansion gated, CN server had to sit through the same thing
No, they already have it ready they just have schedule for the release dates like the lvl up, they already have mobile version ready, example is china already has mobile version
Everything is time gated
Of course, I'm aware of that. But are you saying they're making the update schedule linear? As in the updates will arrive the same exact way as CN server does? So international server will always be 12 months behind?
Dunno some say it's gonna be faster others say it's not.
More reliable thing we have is from the game itself, itās been 10 days and 10 days again if it doesnāt go up then we can do a guess
But they havenāt lied about a single release for game release date, remember how the game takes like 100gb Iām assuming the content is already in the game but itās not āoutā since a release date
sure but it serves them well to drop features one at a time month or so, with time to figure out smaller things (bugs, patches, etc) in between instead of like 20 features all at once. its much better for marketing and follow ups too. It's not that they have to make it in the time frame lol but they do have to control their drops and updates
like the global release had so many bugs that they still have to update, and i am sure the mobile release will need a couple patches too before it can work fully, and it makes sense that they would get that all cleaned up to a reasonable amount before they move onto the next big mechanic/map update
some outfits got dropped faster but we are also missing some game mechanics right?
yes
dang the way they force us to rank up to send links and image is genius. But now we have bots/braindead people spamming chat in an attempt to rank up so they can post image and links.
Yeah you're probably right. We prolly shouldn't expect rapid updates at least on current stage. Still a lot of bugs and translation kerfuffles yet to fix
yh
In CN server, has the young master found uncle jiang? Or is the story still developing
I don't think so. In the latest area, Mohist Hill, ||the MC is said to be going to meet with Aunt Han.||
Please use spoiler-tag
I'm not even sure if it's confirmed though lmao
||As the first quest already mentioned that YingYing has information about Aunt Han and she was close to reveal it, I would guess that we will get her information at the end of that region||
Is big zhao ||really the emperor||, sounds too ridiculous for them to let ||such a prominent figure just roam the streets unattended|| also ||what happened to the minister that Lord Shi replaced/took face of?||
||Yes, he's the emperor|| . Cut them some slack, it's just a game lol. Also this is emperor we're talking about. No one is going to refuse if he really wants it, not like kings and presidents these days. ||His brother will be a jianghu wanderer in the future as well||. The minister ||is implied (or confirmed.. not sure) to be dead, probably by the Avarice himself||.
Very poor reasoning "it's just a game lol" , I was merely giving reasonings as to why he couldnt be
You could just refute it by saying that it's confirmed from X source or the CN version
Is it?
And about ||his brother being a jinaghu wanderer in the future, isnt his brother the Kaifeng prefect that already appears? Is that guy going to be a jianghu wanderer?||
Chill out. You said it sounds too ridiculous, and I answered "it's just a game". Yeah if we're talking about real life ||ain't no way an emperor is going to be hanging about posing as commoner and hang out in poor quarters, but again, it's a game story||. ||and yes, that guy, the Kaifeng prefect and future emperor also pose as commoner, except he is a jianghu wanderer instead of standard commoner||
... Why are you getting serious
I read alot of fiction, it's even on my bio
Him being on the streets and infiltrating the place without being recognized was still kinda ridiculous even on fiction bases until provided reasons/explanations as to why he's doing that or how he's getting away, it's natural for someone to be confused
China has SS tier writers that can rival any other writers alive so "it's just a game" being a reason for story being nonsensical does not make sense in this case, even more with how good WWM has been
Hope you understood what I was trying to say
And I see. But upon looking it up, I couldn't find any sources confirming that his ||prefect brother will become a jianghu wanderer, all I could find is that he remains that way|| Do give me a source if you have
What...? I'm not getting serious at all. I thought you were asking a question about the story and I just answered. I'm not trying to debate whether the story is ridiculous or not, and you're free to think if it is or isn't. I do not consider ||Big Zhao being an emperor|| to be a silly thing. I think it's fine, and it's something that happens a lot in wuxia where the emperor or high ranking officials are often shown to be incredibly skilled fighters.
As to the source of the second thing, it's apparently in CN server, I have no idea if it's just a preview or is already out. Or I could just be trolled, but from multiple conversation here it seems to be confirmed.
||Big Zhao is probably disguising to watch over common peoples lives, eng ver doesn't have enough lore to guess other reasons iirc||
I tried to look this chat up for the second thing and couldn't find anything
I'm just gonna assume he's still a prefect as far as the CN story progressed
Thats fair. I definitely am using that rumor as it is. Not important for us to know the story earlier anyway. I got that sneak peak from someone conversing here with a screenshot and that's all. ||I agree with your assessment about Big Zhao. And I get the impression that he's judging the effect of his brother's coin policy through this disguise as well? That's the impression I got.||
Huh did anyone ping me and delete it
I forgot to put spoiler lol
Have to write it again
||So I think big Zhao went undercover to check how the commoners fare under the tang coins confiscation policy. During the whole arc he was hesitating whether to continue the war or use that treasury to help the people||
You could just tap edit and add || on both ends of the text yknow
||He used to be a general and knows martial arts too so even if he's undercover, he can definitely protect himself||
Bro got his ahh kicked by the khitans feelsbadman
What about his brother
Is he someone significant
||google 2nd emperor of Song and u'll have your answer||
oof
I think the logic is quite simple. The reason Zhao Da wouldnāt be recognized might be based on the following points:
- Those who knew him held important positions throughout the dynasty and were unlikely to appear in slum areas.
- Historically, Zhao Da is said to have had roughly 11 sworn brothers who assisted him in becoming emperor. Being closely related to him, even if they saw him dressed as a commoner, they would choose to play along with his pretenseāfor example, Shi Shouxin, Mr. Pu, and others.
- As far as I know, some emperors in Chinese history enjoyed dressing up as commoners to step outside the palace. This allowed them to understand the real lives of the people while also relaxing and having fun, free from too many power struggles and constraints.
- Usually, after an emperorās death, his heir is often his son. However, after the founding of the Song Dynasty, it was rare for a younger brother to inherit the throne. Thus, there are rumors that Zhao Da was murdered by his brother, which gave rise to the allusion "Candle Shadow and Axe Sound" (Zhu Ying Deng Sheng).
Okay thanks! Good to know the game hasnt ended in CN yet lol
Does anyone know a good video where to start with understanding the story? I'm kinda lost playing and watching the cutscenes š
The emperor in disguise is such a famous Chinese cliche honestly also princes
so, I did the gleaming abyss storyline, and I did the lost prayers storylineā I read somewhere that there was more to this whole plot. is that true?
Yes, it connects to Tian Ying + Moon Goddess, Last Emperor, Wraith Village
Theres a lot more to the lore thats scattered around
I'd be happy to explain it briefly if you don't mind spoilers potentially
About Tian YIng: ||where does it say that tian ying isn't dead btw? In the cutscene after we beat him, he sinks to the bottom of the lake after being slashed+crushed by a giant rock...||
There're cutscenes after that but u have to find his hut
Thanks a lot!
I'll be looking
while I'd love to learn like thisā if there is a quest, left I'd prefer doing that, because I've already done palace of annalsa and the buddha cave story line, albeit not the moon goddess one.
I think void king is the only campaign boss who got killed right?
Really? U mean qianye didn't die? That bicch..
*side story campaign
Theres no explicit questline, its all over the place and a lot of connecting the dots
The game avoids using actual character names a lot, just titles and vague descriptions, so its hard to come to a conclusion about many things from quests alone
ah, I'd love to hear it then
tbf, someone was saying she did not die
Ok so we can get a cutscene strangling her to death with my red wristband
is Harvestfall Village a huge extended family with everyone having the same Yan surname?
idk, it's hard to find proper information sadly. To me it felt like the sacrifice of killerblade was a good enough closure for that whole thread
but who knows
Hi, can anyone explain to me about what happened in lost quest blind to the world? What was the lore and story? I skimmed through some part so I didnāt properly understood the story
oh it's a very long read
it's part of Tian Ying's backstory, so before looking it up, you might want to do other quests to fill in the blanks
That is the final bit of the story when you unlock all dark bits, it is not going to be just found otherwise
Gleaming Abyss Campaign story
||The Gleaming Abyss was incredibly poisonous 200 years ago due to some bugs. A Granny turned the Toad King Immortal Worm, capable of granting immortality, into a person who was capable of curing the poison from the insects. He wore a deer mask and was known as the Immortal of Eternal Life. The Immortals name was Ba Wu. Later on, in a war, Gleaming Abyss collapsed and trapped Ba Wu and Gran inside the place, so Ba Wu used immortality worms to keep everyone inside alive. (Gleaming Abyss was also once a prosperous village). Ba Wu would later on remove the Immortality Worms from the villagers, as immortality would cause you to lose all emotion.
(Deer Immortal/Deer Village storyline)
Fast forward to 30 years before the main story, a guy called Sun Buqi found out about these Immortal Worms. Sun Buqi was also under orders to poison the current emperor at the time, Emperor Ai of the end of the Tang dynasty. (Before Zhao became the Song emperor).
Li Zuo, aka Emperor Ai aka Last Emperor aka Aureate Pavilion leader aka the guy who gives people evil butterflies aka the guy whos making people into puppets, was in hiding. Liu Qingyi disguises herself as Li Zuo, drinks the poison, but survives.
Sun Buqi takes her to Gleaming Abyss and uses her to run tests using the Immortality Worms. She was made into a host for the worms after being repeatedly poisoned, and Sun also used her to lure in nearby villagers as additional test subjects. These test subjects were eventually made into Dream Puppets.
By now, Liu Qingyi was immortal, but her emotions were sealed away and she wanted to die. So Sun Buqi finally gains a little conscience, realizes it was wrong, and leaves Gleaming Abyss, leaving Liu Qingyi behind. Liu Qingyi would then raise Wu Xiang Huang, aka The Void King, who was orphaned inside Gleaming Abyss. After returning from hiding 12 years later, Li Zuo finds Liu Qingyi in Gleaming Abyss. Soon after, she kills herself. PT2 explains why||
theres a part 2 about wraith village
very important to current state of affairs
I think it is based on ch game update incoming that features her
bdw ruby is still alive
Where do I look it up tho?
It's one of the pinned post in this channel
I've seen at least 3 youtube videos that talks about Tian Ying's backstory (including the blind lady part)
but tldr ||in his childhood, Tian Ying saved the lady from an arranged wedding in a village and gave her a knife to fight for herself. She later trained herself to become an assassin, eventually became a famous assassin and reunited again with Tian Ying, who's on a mission to ensure the Khitan envoy (a whole story about this) made it to Southern Tang.
He asked her a favor to kill off Jianghu wanderers who want to kill the envoy, but by doing so, she betrayed the country. TO repay her, Tian Ying promised to give her new eyes (which is why he sent for Uncle Tian to visit her)
Eventually because of her notoriety, a friend of her built her the temple that you explored as her hideout.
When she meet again with Tian Ying, she also promised to come with him to the Southern Tang territory to kill the Khitan envoy together.
However, sometime after this, the friend who built her hideout discoevered the fact that she is theeee asssassin who's been killing the local folks, and in turn, he leaked the blueprint of her hideout to the other wanderers who sought revenge. So that's why there's so many dead bodies in her hideout. Eventually, she succumbed to her wounds.||
that is a very abridged version š
Wraith Village storyline (Gleaming Abyss Pt2 + Tian Ying/Moon Goddess)
||Located next to Gleaming Abyss, it was poisoned as well by the immortality experimentations there, with their water source being affected. This caused the villagers to go mad and violent, and in the end, all of them died from going mad and killing each other, save for the three deer mutated villagers you find there. Liu Qingyi passed by this village curing people before, wearing a Deer mask like Ba Wu, and became known by the people there as the Deer Immortal.
This is where Tian Ying meets the Moon Goddess, who was being sold as a "mad" bride, and was requested by the village chief to search for Deer Immortal 3 times, but he couldn't find her. (The people of wraith village believed that marrying to brides from outside could cure their insanity). Instead, he discovered the Ying Yang reversal technique from an Elder Wei, which could temporarily stop the disease from further developing, but it turns out there was no true cure.
When the village descended into ruins, Li Zuo turned Wraith village into his experiment site for Dream Puppet and immortality experiments, this occuring after Liu Qingyi dies. He took The Void King with him for a bit, before sending him back to guard Liu Qingyis resting place.
(When Uncle Jiang was escaping with us, he fought The Void King and won. Then, we fought the Void King and finished him off for good, and he recognized us as being similar to Uncle Jiang. When he sees Li Zuo, its not that he sees Li Zuo in us, but rather imagines the disappointment at having lost again)
Now, in the present storyline, Li Zuo is full of resentment towards the Jianghu in general because they pushed for Liu Qingyi to end herself as well, following her public apology in her moment of sanity. He wants to create an utopia using his Dream Puppets and bring the Jianghu under his control. Hence why hes the main storyline villain.||
I will kill for Zheng Ran, my sheilaaaaa
My current character relationship tree. Any characters not here are not here because I reached the character cap
Ah. That makes sense. It also clears up a lot of things.
Is the void king adopted or biological
Im glad it does, more people should tune in to the amazing details of the WWM story
He was orphaned inside of Gleaming Abyss (formerely the village known as Yingyuan). Adoptive son I suppose of Liu Qingyi, Li Zuos lover, but Li Zuo treats him like a servant.
Li Zuo is a bad father but hey maybe things would be different if Liu Qingyi was alive
Nice relationship chart though
I forgot where to find this. This is only for your own reference right?
yes. its in Journal > World > Research
Uncle Jiang is less Uncle Jiang and more Older Brother Jiang š§
Tho I don't think we r wang qing's kid
Its not confirmed, but there is evidence from CN side I believe
Ngl it would be a pretty weak reveal if that's true
tbh there is some setup to it
How so? If you piece together Wang Qings death, Jiang Yans exile, and the cutscene at the start of the game where Jiang Yan is fleeing, it makes sense for the MC/the baby to be Wang Qings child
Jiang Wulang did not directly betray Wang Qing, but his actions led to consequences, one of which ended up being the battle where Wang Qing died, and he realized this most likely. So he was probably asked by Wang Qing to take us (his son) and flee.
Well Wang Qing isnt really relevant to the current story anymore so it would be pretty weak if we were his kid, which adds nothing to the story
Your right way to weak of a reveal obviously we are the reincarnation of the alcoholic immortal doomed to forever reincarnate as the town drunk at age 16
your right, MC should actually be Jiang Yan and Chen Zixis kid. I'm sure theres some wack male pregnancy pill in the Jianghu that let this happen.
What about ||Void King seeing Li Zuo in us before his end?||
It could be. But why did he then take our jade pendant? It has to mean something. And if it's just has to do with mc father who is just a mere general, it less than exciting story material
mere general š
He didnt see Li Zuo in us. He saw Uncle Jiang. He saw Li Zuo because thats his master, and after he lost to Uncle Jiang, he saw that his master was disappointed. So when he lost to us, he imagined his masters disappointment again
Mere general? Wang Qing? He has so much aura bro
Wang Qing taught Uncle Jiang everything he knows, donated to the homeless, saved kids, etc etc
How do u do story building with aura man.. It has to have some oomph to it than just aura
Honestly I'm more inclined to say the pendant had to be taken away because it ties us being Wang Qings son
Well his feats are hidden in various pieces of lore, not in the main quest
And drinking
Does anyone know if there is a future connection between the longevity tree/fruits and all those immortality insects. Like, the tree so far looks like coming out of nowhere. Where that belief it is doing anything is even coming from and somehow deer related ?..
There isn't really alot of candidates that could be our dad
Yea but why? It's not like Wang qing had such bitter enemies they want to ensure his bloodline dies. Wang Qing also never raised any rebellion or was in line to any throne that needs his offspring to die. So why take the pendant
A reveal is only good if it adds sthing to the current story, Wang qing's story is already over so I can't really see it. We'll see though
Father, Uncle, and adoptive son all take after one another. Alcoholics
Cutscene hit so hard the game crashed
I'm not against mc being Wang qing kid. But the story has to have some value so the jade can have some importance
Boss was about to bonk me
Lol that timing
Wang Qing literally has the best drip marketing man
Ye after that you can see the clouds of Jianghu loading š
Insane aura
But it's all in the past
His story is already over, unless devs is still cooking sthing
Not if MC is his child lol, we inherit the aura
Idk narratively it becomes an avenging story
Idk we just an alcoholic kid who keeps getting drugged, not much aura
We got our home friends and family stolen by Li Zuo
I wouldn't say it's all in the past
his death very much affected those around him
Li Zuo is already on the list even without us being wang qing's son, so...
well, why would they make a whole trailer for Wang Qing if hes irrelevant to the story now as you've said?
Yeah but this still means his story wouldn't end though
what do you mean
his goals live on through his son
If the trailer is new then I guess they are still cooking, since wang qing is a fictional character writers can do anything I guess
game loves bringing up the 16 prefectures
yea, which is why its speculated that we are his son
reclaiming it while being a general's son would be pretty cool
but then again like I said we don't really have alot of options
But is that trailer recent though
atp it might just be our mother that is important
Trailer says he's 53 when he died at the zhongdu bridge, that's a bit old to sire a new kid but that's just me
for starters it's not like the sperm doesn't work anymore š
Well I'm not really convinced, this trailer is before the game was released I think
So not new content for general wang qing
y does that matter tho
To me his story has already ended in qing he
And I don't think writers would make wang qing our dad if it adds nothing to the story
mhhh
Wang Qing is based on the real general Wang Qing, one of the four great generals of the Qin dynasty
Bro do you know how old the Qin dynasty is lol
Thats why I said based on
And he's still fictional if he's based on a general that lived thousands of years ago
I'm just more inclined to believe Wang Qing over Li Zuo
I didnt say he wasnt, just that he has elements of the real guy. Based on =/= =
If anyone here does have a helpful message/explantion which I should pin, please let me know
So it's easier for other people to find specific lore-explanations
Lol no, Wang Qing is just a no name general in history who got murked by the Khitans trying to take back the region. He's just super glazed in this story because he's a big name to the people of this time period who held hopes of taking back their lands and defending their homeland against the Khitans.
I know, but my point is he's still a fictional character at the end of the day like uncle jiang
I do have one on Gleaming Abyss + Wraith Village questlines, but theres quite a few colloquial terms and simplifications..others can decide
He didnt die to Khitans, he died to Li Zuos Dream Puppets (they ambushed his fight with the Khitans)
let me look
Otherwise I can pin it here
There's no element of Qin dynasty Wang Qing in him, totally different people, totally different era, and the Qin general is named Wang Jian, not Qing.
He would have perished with his army either way, according to the game it was a hopeless battle
Could you adjust your message by giving a short title to your message which is not within the spoiler-tag
because they got ambushed, no?
why would Li Zuo deploy his puppets to finish Wang Qing if the Khitans could do it?
They were waiting for reinforcements that would never come, not ambushed
So what I think happened was he made a deal with Li Zuo to become a zombie to hold the line longer, my 2 cents
Sent uncle jiang away too cause he knew that battle was a lost cause
But jiang found out about the plan, came back to the battlefield and put an end to wang qing in his rampage zombie state
adjusted
no, thats made up
Idk it's according to the game
I'm 100% sure that Wang Qing knew that battle was hopeless
Hence the reason why he tricked Jiang to make him leave
no he didnt die in battle
The fight was hopeless after they realized that they are not getting the promised reinforcement
He would have died either way even without the bug
He Ran also mentioned that he thought that he is transporting a very important item which might save the fight
||During the fighting near Zhongdu Bridge, the Later Jin forces were pinned down by Khitan troops. Wang Qing, broke the stalemate by taking a small detachment and seizing the bridge himself. His success should have opened the way for the main army, but the commanding general hesitated, leaving Wang Qing exposed.
At that moment, an envoy from the Embroidery Gold Tower (Aureate) delivered an ornate container to the armyās scouts, claiming it held a mechanism capable of reversing the battle. He Ran believed them, taking the box back to Wang Qing. Wang Qing, who understood what the container truly contained, sent He Ran and Jiang Yan away under the pretext of safety.
The two scouts sensed danger and doubled back. Jiang Yan reached Wang Qing first and discovered that he had already been turned into a Dream Puppet. With no way to save him, Jiang Yan was forced to destroy the creature Wang Qing had become. He Ran arrived moments later, misread the scene, and believed Jiang Yan had betrayed their commander. This explains why Wang Qing died twice.||
Don't know if the theories are still active, but back then there were some ideas that the guy, who gave He Ran the item, was working for the villian
He was part of the pavilion
If read carefully even Wang Qing knew after taking the bridge, he was cooked because no reinforcements were coming
Idk about whether or not if Wang Qing genuinely had feats all I can say is that we gotta be some baby of importance around Zhongdu bridge
From my understanding, I also read that Wang Qing basically knew that he will 100% die, after the reinforcement's didn't arrive
It's been a while since I read the theory about how exactly might gave He Ran the box
And the box saving the battle isnt exactly wrong, Wang Qing becoming a rampaging zombie would have maybe turn the tides
After taking the bridge, they were still surrounded by Khitan, so yes they would probably have died. Hence why He Ran even accepted the strange box, thinking it would turn the tide of battle
Not really because he'd be helping the Khitans by killing the Jin
Well if I was gonna die anyway, I'd swallow that zombie pill and take down as many enemies as I could with me
Presumably because he would rather die by his side than miss the chance
You should pin his relationship chart too, it's very good
To me that post read as personal interpretation of the story and not actual factual lore, especially the 1st part of it I think have inconsistencies with the stories presented in the game
Not against the pin, but it is not like this is the source for understanding which it might start to look like if pinned
I can re-read it later today so confirm it with my sources
Thanks for the reminder
I think the only thing I disagree with is not that the jianghu people forced her to die, she herself wanted to end her life because she hated being an immortal
Liu Qingyi Gleaming Abyss spoilers
||She was pressured into taking her life, as she was seen as an abomination of the immortality experiments that ended up poisoning Wraith village. as well as luring innocent villagers into Gleaming Abyss to become Dream Puppets. People didnt know and would be hard to convince that she was actually forced into doing so.
This happened in the year 936, after she left Gleaming Abyss to go apologize to the world.||
thinking about it even if it's unlikely we are Wang Qing's son we should still somehow tie to Wang Qing still
The jade kinda came from the man
Or Wang Qing knew our parents
Damn I didn't know she went outside to seek forgiveness
In that context, for my chinese-players;
Please be sure to not spoil anything
Or use the spoiler-tag and make sure to give a hint abt what the message is about
Liu Qingyi spoilers
||She did after she momentarily regained her sanity from Shuiyues help, after reuniting with Li Zuo||
Im amazed you found that piece of info, I only knew she was back to normal a bit after reuniting with li zuo
that too
Imeant that btw as in we still have connections to Wang Qing
I think if you (eventually) finish all the encounters, wandering tales, dark surges, etc, you'll find out a lot more
Disclaimer that I have not finished all of these myself
Oh wait we now know for sure (at least alot) of our origin
I mean unless that young son is someone else
That young son is our uncle
I highly recommend Twisted Destiny encounter if you havent done it already. Its beautifully voice acted, animated, and done, and gives you the truth of Wang Qing, He Ran, and Jiang Yans past
oh well guess we gotta wait for sure
I've done it actually, it's hard not to miss that one lol
The last animation is really well done in Twisted Destiny
And it also includes some minor changes/easter eggs which are very interesting
Hint: Wang Qing's beard
The guy literally stacked heads in front of our hut
Back then that quest confused the hell out of me because I didn't know what was in the damn box
Luckily I had some friends who helped me out
Twisted Destiny end spoilers
It was hella confusing to play the game when you can't even understand the language xD
But the art in this is amazing, He Rans voice acting too
Please open Roaring sands, need more PLOT
In the global version as well, many translations lack the impact of the original meanings, and a lot of funny puns and character name jokes are in pinyin which takes away from enjoyment
A particular NPC stuck on a roof is called Xia Bulai, which directly translates to "cant get down" which is hilarious
Ye, I also thought that
I found some translation-issues within that quest
and I personally dont really like the English Voice Actor for He Ran
many vendors, like the noodle ones, are called "noodle" as well
The chinese one is amazing however
ahaha yeah
Havent tried English at all, it doesnt feel right hearing English with the characters appearances
I don't mind if they are good, but they aren't
ye...
I also didn't like the translation for the Zhang E Quest
Especially the german translation is very off and it's hella confusing to actually understand the story
I already had 3 ppl asking me for a summary xD
The moment the english southern accent appeared in Kaifeng it's kinda hard to take it seriously
Canāt speak for the German translation but I doubt itās any better than the English one is sometimes
I dont have any summary for Zheng E yet because I havent played his quest, but from background knowledge of Kaifeng ||Him, Muruong, Ember of East, that grain dude, banded together for a shared purpose because of past revenge plans, and hes pretending to be someone right now||
You're spot on
First thing I did was change to Chinese still need to redo the beginning cutscene in Chinese dub
Yao Yaoyao, if translating just the Yao, means "Medicine, MedicineMedicine" šš
Depending on the tone of each Yao, could also mean "need medicine"
I missed a lot of puns without knowing š
The downside of not knowing enough chinese vocab(meanings) š
i wonder what **** **** means
akshually if i remember correctly she's called å§čÆčÆ so yeah she's called yao medecinemedecine
last name yao is one of rare ones that has a female radicale, because the family name has a very old history and some historians thinks that it steams from a time where it was a matriarcal society
I thought the Yao family name was quite common
theres Yao Ming
is there a lore reason for the geese to be so strong?
it's common, but having a female radical in the character is rare
idk every single chinese kid was bitten by a goose
Would like to know too š
there was a goose in the public parc in my city here in france, and i was chased by it
devs like geese
(I dont know if this is the actual reason, just a personal experience. But my mom used to say that she was terrified of the geese she had to feed and let out back when she was a child, and she grew up in countryside China, and China was mostly countryside back then. So could just be a universal experience of China in the past where people raising geese were being terrorized by them)
went for the first itme in china in the rural area, and ofc i was almost bitten by a goose
and i remember people laughing saying that my childhood is complete bc i have now the fear of geese
Back when I lived there I'd get chased by the geese if I was holding food too and it was pretty intimidating as a kid
i didn't know it wasnt a universal experience amongst kids around the world lol
ever had to go against a geese?
idk i was born in france and the geese were nice with other kids
but not with me, had to chase me for no reason
they are indeed terrifying
geese is just apparently more comedic I guess
also yes
i dont remember the dogs just remmeber a very skinny one in kaifeng being ugly af
want them
eat
tf
From the end of the Qianghe Dark Surges Cutscene, who is it implied ||Tian Ying ||is disguising himself as in the purple robes?
Yes.
Is tian yang super late into story?
Heās the prequel to the MCs story
You fight him upon completion of all 9 Qinghe campaigns
9???? Isnt there one? Then kaifang....
No, campaigns are not the actual story area. Itās the background story
Every map location in Qinghe is significant, and many are significant to Tian Yings story
How to access?? Im lost... is it super long tho?
You have to complete the 9 campaigns in Qinghe, can be seen through Journal > Qinghe area > Campaign
Itās the final ālost chapterā that you need 6000 Qinghe exploration for
Story
That must take AGES
Not really, most people have already beaten him I believe
Im like 40 ish hrs into th3 game and just found out about this lol
More like 25
But thx . Guess ive got a few more hrs of story in qinqhe then
Trust us, it is quicker than you think. Just explore, do stuff. Wander.
I like playing story
Donāt worry about being a completionist, each area has its own checklist of everything you can possibly do
I have NEVER 100%nt a game.... dont have the time š
Youāre in for a lot of fun then, WWM story wise is better than gameplay wise in my opinion
I enjoy wuxia storylines and this one is pretty solid. I enjoy the side storylines a lot as well
It is
Albeit translation is dodo

Yeah the quests are really goodšš½
will aunt han become the MC love interest?
woahhh
It's ok if you're sick in the head. But u don't have to let everyone know
shes so bad
I love the unapoglectic ragebait. XD and, it worked, kekw.
Hi Iām curious about the guy that carried us when we were a baby, what happened to him?
i think we're trying to find him but ive been skipping all the story so idk
Just so we're clear, we haven't met Li Zhongdui in game at the moment, right?
are there hints on who is the MC of kaifeng, like tian ying for qinghe?
he left 3 years ago, also if u focus on details you'll know he's the guy at the start of the game who takes your pendant(masked black swordsman)
I tried to pay attention to detail but like man Iām focused on so many other things at the same time, itās amazing
yea it's fine , i think i only realized it after watching other play the game on yt
Not all the campaigns, just Ye Wanshan and Lucky Seventeen campaigns are important
Yeah, at first I thought it was another training session, then I saw that he took the jade from us, and then I realised that the [player] didn't know who he is and was a random attacker for him/her
any idea anyone:
are there hints on who is the MC of kaifeng, like tian ying for qinghe?
Is the dark surge of Kaifeng not complete yet for anyone?
idk mine isn't fully finished yet
Mine either
I haven't been in Kaifeng lately
I was there at first, completed the golden leaf, did the velvet side quest, Jinming Pool and the timely main quests
Mostly, I only roam around Qinghe (it's still not 100%)
When's the next part of the story coming out
for me before today i used to...just fight tian ying over and over for the past days or even week
And I don't think I want to do 100%
I get tired of chatting with AI
Masochist
kinda far, cuz kaifeng's story is over and it's next zone so next update
Ok
but i did beat him, i accidently saw something in yt how to understand his 1=>2=>hit move and then i beat him just after beating zhang E
Regarding Chapter 2 did Velvet Shade take part in the ||ember of east|| plans? If yes, did they knew their identity as ||Yingying||?
yes basically one of the secret bosses
what difficulty
legend of course
i can see why he is rough. i wouldn't be able to handle him in legend diff either.
but the main issue was that i started getting anoyyed so after a few(10) tries or less i would stop and do something else
goose skill rlly helped me win
almost double my dmg
I might as well try goose!
Yes
Or they don't know she's yingying but agrees either way to make the Kaifeng folk feel better
I've heard if you buy enough horskies in your pack, the stronger they get so they'll start dragging you around
f
hey I did the murong yuan campaign after the main quest so basically Big Zhang revoluted with 3 of his bro to become king right ? After his kinghood he order 1 of his bro ( now general Murong ) to opress a revolution that lead by Yuan's dad and killed him and adopt Yuan right ? or am I tripping
uuuh, can someone explain to me the story in Kaifeng? Because i honestly don't get it.
As i remember one of the reasons for the confiscation of the money was due to the coins risking overflowing the market and i would guess cause inflation, but then they make a fiat currency at the end, which is THE MOST INFLATIONARY, because you can't just print it if it isn't tied to a gold standard, or some type of real currency.
So i just don't get it. Moreover if the money is confiscated it would be extremely deflationary so it's definitely not good at the beginning, but eventually each coin would be higher in value as there would be less around.
I just don't get the story in this region, because as i understand it, it doesn't make a lot of sense
who's the npc that has most mentions in kaifeng
ŲŁŲ§ŁŁ Ų¹Ų±ŲØ Ų§ŁŲÆŲ³ŁŁŲ±ŲÆ ŲØŲ§ŁŲØŲ§ŁŁ Ų“Ų±ŁŲŲ§ŲŖ ŁŁŁŲÆ ŲŖŁŁŲ±ŁŁŲ§ ŁŁŁŁ
mention?
idk just looking for the equivalent of tian ying in kaifeng, someone who's the center of that area's lore
apparently reddit threads are not allowed, but I found one called "[Spoiler] KaiFeng main storyline currency related knowledge" in the underscore reddit that goes into more of an explanation if that helps
ah idk
I'm reading Reddit threads that explain the stories & lore by a Chinese speaking user and it's so good. I'm sad & annoyed this game's translation is so bad & lacks emotions.
I mean, it's not all bad for me personally since I consumed lots of wuxia as a child & here and there as adults so I can fill in the blanks, but damn the translations are so robotic most of the time, with no prose in it lol.
what if ruby is alive
I'm coping hoping that is the case.
š
My demons were calling for blood when Ruby died.
i loved it
The only thing missing, was the MC's expression. It was hollow, the way he expressed his grief.
no i meant i loved that she died
Felt disappointed that his expression during Ruby's death was just... superficial.
Oh. Well, I didn't.
Not campaigns sorry, I meant Jianghu legacy quests
I cannot post lore link made by where winds meet on YouTube? Even if its the game who release it ?
which one actually there's several that's very good at understanding the lore
Rip dead kids

anyone knows whats the lore behind the useless lock and wolf maiden?
song is forced to be in a war with tang sandly
she's a survivor of the Zheng family massacre (plentiful grainary arc), and was raised by wolves. Eventually she is found and taken in by a courtesan lady. Lady teaches her how to speak and write and stuff. But, the courtesan grows older and cheaper and takes a lot of abuse by the clients until she dies in neglect. Wolf girl takes the corpse and heads back to the wilderness because humanity disgusts her.
right. but im wondering what the useless lock is for, afterall she thanks you after giving that to her
the zheng family massacre bandits are song bandits or khitan which i never got clear
i think they were just roaming bandits composed of deserters from the armies
its pretty tragic zheng e is not a fun guy
ye classic wuxia everyone has a story
i just assumed its a lock from something that belonged to the lady
probably ||Zheng E? the whole east kaifeng corrupted by the spores has to do with their family story||
that's a very small area compared to the entirety of qinqhe, even master jiang knows of him, guy is a legend(maybe two)
ye there isn't going to be an equivalent of Jian Ying everywhere
wished there'd be for each zone, if they aren't stuck to that zone
what was the biggest plot twist in the stroy so far

They were bandits
Itās a chance encounter. Took me a few times to trigger it. Change your time to hai and go up to the well
Anyone finish "The Lu and Mo Debate" and get happy to see ||Murong Yuan is still alive after all her post-death quests||
Does anyone know which one is which for hammer dagger and hook? Im so curious which one of the girls is which
that we dont know, they all crazy with the beatdown
huh wheres this quest at
You know, I have a feeling most people don't know Mohism and why Mohism is a big deal...
Why
To put it in the most bluntest way:
It's a philosophy that teaches universal love is how the world can bring about an ideal society.
How to ensure universal love?
Don't be aggressive.
Is it some hippy pacifist thing then?
Nope, Mozi, the founder of the movement, famously built siege engines superior to the legendary carpenter Luban. Which is where the mythical contraptions in Wuxia fantasy come from.
Then he beat Confucius in a debate to the point Confucius does not wish to debate him anymore.
And he created systems of anti siege warfare where attacking a city guarded by mohists was considered a futile waste of lives.
The very concept of Xia comes from mohists who travelled from city to city, defending besieged cities from attackers to dissuade the spread of warfare. Wandering heroes with strange techniques and advanced technology that borders on mystical powers.
love fort
Unfortunately it is useless for those in power to hold onto political power so it was not adopted as state philosophy, and lost out to Legalism, and later Confucianism.
And Mozi himself is near superhuman, being multi talented in so many fields he was beating his equally monstrous opponents at their most famed field... So there was a huge lack of talent to continue his legacy
yet here we are his philosophy lives on, probably laughing at confuse us
I was in a rush to finish the story quests and didnt understand some stuff, are we related to the white hair guy or smth? And is he a villain or good guy
||Assuming the white hair guy you're referring to is the guy that is sending out those undead bug, there is some theories floating that he might be related to us. Some theorized that he is our father. Though I don't think it's confirmed yet. He is 100% the bad guy though. Wants to create a world full of soulless immortals (aka zombies)||
Wait ... What ? Who are you talking about?
Are we supposed to finish Quinqhe before we finish chapter one?
Not really, this is an open world game, you can rush through the main story and not explore Qinghe if you so desire.
In fact, in Kaifeng you're gonna feel like some of the side quest's timeline is a little disjointed if you don't rush the main quest first...

Wow they are so coolš
Oh, and as an aside....
The traps in Lunar Goddess's lair, was built by a mohist disciple who didn't even learn any of their real techniques, just the basics of their mechanisms.
The Mohist Hill is super glazed in this story.
hi im new here. got interested of the lore vids i found on yt. Guess ill go in the rabbit hole now.
It's in wandering tales of kaifeng
Apparently we have the ability to kill them but they are alive after we collect the rewards
I think we have the gu virus like zombies if we bite them, they become zombies too
How is it we saw seventeen and murong yuan turned into dust like spiderman got thanos snapped and yet we see them alive post battle

between all those times MC got drugged / hallucinated / knocked out by trap and the fact that almost all of the bosses we fight didn't die / faked their death / was just hallucination.....
Plot no jutsu
Does the game give u any clue on how to complete the dark surges if u dont look up a guide?
Nah. You've to talk to everyone and pick up every interactables :v
you just gotta interact with everything you see and hope for the best. you should get almost all if you finish everything else before tales and echos
thats crazy
I played for 40 hours i only have 4% of the wandering tales in qinghe
I would like to uncover the hidden story "naturally" but this'll take too long for me unfortunately
For me, wandering about aimlessly and stumbling on stuff is one of the best parts of the game
yea same but theres too much content to stumble upon and I want to play it like a story game too
some npc gives you hint here and there
can't wait for it to come out on mobile so i can wander around while im on the bus
I don't think my handphone can take it
Until your are in some swamp area like the bodhi sea
or enter to ghost bride tomb
Still cool
randomly strolling and triggered an encounter upon || picking up an earing || then i..uh..got drugged by a || cat in the flower expanse || after completing some tasks and got sent to a || aureate pavilion's hideout ||
we are so gullible

Farmed all those Aureate goons for dem mats was nice
yea, and they deserve to die
Is there any lore why those goose are 9,999x more stronger than MC?
are they like the sleeping taoist immortal? Or the immortals underground?
no dedass i feel like im playing as my stupid little nephew
keep getting scammed. uncle jiang was right we not ready for the jianghu
i like the kaifeng one better bc everything's kind of sealed off in one city. and the gold leaf event helped me find a lot of them
chinese kids getting terrorised by geese is a universal experience for anyone whos been on a farm with geese
which is a lot of the age 20+ population
LOL
I don't like geese they are scary
Yeah they were blessed by the four heavenly kings
It's on sight for aurete pavillion
Nothing redeemable about that faction š
nah their leader is pretty valid plus hes hot
He didnāt listen to his baddie enough
|| what if ruby isn't dead what if 2 people kidnapped her right before she died slapped a mind control mask on her and went back in time and ruby comes back as a adult swordswoman we fight and we break the mask and she grabs one of the people and pulls them into a time dimension were she solos them by going super ruby 3. But no seriously anyone play cn version know of she ever pops up as a spirit companion or anything or is she gone for good? ||
He's the echo in the deer dungeon :( and he should've stayed with his baddie
As in dying with her?
this sounds like the plot of a hollywood movie
We don't know but it's blissful thinking in blissful retreats tragedy :(
Absolute cinema but I have unfortunate news
Actually it's bardock from xenovers 2
If she is going to be back itās a fate worse than death
Then she has the gu virus
Sheās not human any more
Aureate Pavilion make her a dream puppet rn
what? his baddie is dead though
shes dead š
Make us do what Uncle Jiang do to his adoptive father
Unfortunate news is sad but thanks for the answer
Yeah cause he chose to do his own thing
Absolute tragedy
no?..
Yes
Ruby?
Killed by qianye
Alive?
Got the gu virus.
Killed by us.
Like father like son
Hey I just realised my post rhymes if i add a hip hop tune
No, Liu Qingyi was experimented on and she chose to die
Yeah she was like I wanna atone, and dream puppet man is like I wanna rule da world
albeit with a bit of pressure from Jianghu
I just used buddha key today. Damn dude was alive.
well he grew resentful after what happened to her, starting the Aureate pavilion and turning people into the Dream Puppets via similar experiment methods that were used on his wife
Ye, or the fact she chose to atone which he doesn't understand she felt massive guilt
Yep and had make up on
?? He knew she wanted to atone, hes partially responsible for her momentarily regaining her sanity to apologize. She felt guilty for luring innocent villagers to be experimented on and turning into Dream Puppets among other things, but Li Zuo was not the one doing these experiments. It was another guy. She shouldn't have felt guilty is what Li Zuo most likely thought, and hates the Jianghu for how they pressured her into taking her own life, making her feel as if the fault of what happened in Wraith Village and the experiments were because of her
Thanks for writing that up consicely I definitely got the lore wrong on that
Huh Li again?
Li zhen zhen
Li zuo
Official khitan Li (tian ying after he got his miaoshan and tianying identities killed by us)
Li Zhenzhen was the Moon Goddess who Tian Ying saved from Wraith Village
Li Zuo is the previous Emperor, known as "The Last Emperor" in the in game character profile section. He created Aureate Pavilion.
Yes I know them. You told me these few days ago.
Surname Li, of all surnames.
...idk what to tell you besides it's a common surname but that doesn't mean they're all related
Li Bron
There's a book of surnames in Chinese history. Hundred Family surnames
As far as I remember, Li is a name created during the Tang dynasty.
Li zuo is the first person to have the Li surname
Different characters
No š¤£
Yeah the Tang dynasty Li (ę)
may not be the same character of other Li surnames
å² or ę or å©
Its ę tho
ęē„ emperor ai aka li zuo
Li was the imperial surname of the Tang dynasty, founded by Li Yuan in 618 AD. One of the most prosperous and influential dynasties in Chinese history, Tang was ruled by 20 emperors surnamed Li.[4][7] The Tang dynasty imperial family belonged to the northwest military aristocracy prevalent during the Sui dynasty and claimed to be paternally descended from Laozi,[11][12][13] the Qin general Li Xin, the Han dynasty general Li Guang, and Western Liang ruler Li Gao.[14][15]
Wikipedia knows chinese better than me wtf
Li Zuo was the last Tang emperor so he couldn't have been the progenitor of the surname, no?
Poor child and poor tang dynasty. Owned by zetian and many rebellions
ę goes all the way back to spring and autumn period and before
Li zhenzhen is é» anyway iirc
Times when chinese is better explained in than English.
Too many homonyms in mandarin
Is that unicorn i mean unilady?
It looks like qin or han dynasty hanfu to me! Ngl the spider lily(?) unicorn thing is peak fashion lolol
Chocobun just explained š
This one is great because of the ducks or geese not sure what they are
Is birb
Noooo bot got to me, but it was a link to a Tumblr blog that cross posts a lot of history and translates from weibo and xhs. There's really cool historical recreation of fashion based off primary sources like art or paintings
i've been wanting to get hanfu for a while but haven't settled on what style and time period i want š¢
LOL same although my faves are tang and song dynasty
Ngl qin and han does look very nice though
What⦠not tang and not song please. The hat can have so many birds to sit on like a transmission tower.
I meant for hanfu for myself...what's wrong with tang and song š
For us men, this.
tbf. tang didn't have the extremely long wings lol
My parrots will sit on my headwear all days
Thatās true.
But birbs are birbs
i wish we could fly with those hats
it started out like this and then evolved š¤£
OH fbanajskdjd mybad I was so deep in the hahaah pretty women's hanfu I didn't even consider....but like. You can whack people you don't like with that hat

women cosmetics having it better even irl š apparently big zhao made the long wings to prevent his officials from whispering to each other or something like that
Yup
Yeah I remember that historical bit! I just wasn't sure which dynasty he made the hat wings a thing
i like the cleaner look of qinhan
I thought it might of been ming when that transition happened
for both men and women
ming went full circle, the wings went straight up
anyone think big zhu and big zhao could have been good friends
I think I saw a c-drama with that hat and the wings up
Wings up for princes and the emperor, straight for everyone else
can i say it's a really dramamtic version of the transisiton to paper money story lol
and whole not even paper anyone is a reference to how china is really into mobile payment and the global electronic money which is neat but idk if ppl in the past thought that far
just finished the golden leaf quest last night..that series of quests' stories, top tier š„²
Did you kill the blind girl?
Did u cry
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO š dont touch her..she baby
i actually did when she asked us || why we dont go back home ||
Psst go see A'ran again for a fun post quest reward!!
there's more after the achievement?
i'll go check it later once i got home from work >.<
Oh on god??
Why are you working at this hour
š
haha..im from SEA, time zone is GMT+8..so it's 3:30pm here right now
Same I'm sea
I'm logging in to see so fast
It's a cute little present nothing major, but it's very cute
Just trying to manage expectations š but I loved it
A'ran must he protected at all costs yes yes
imagine a hyper steroid I mean qi pilled pulsating muscled man in Chinese clothing 6 foot tall barreling towards little Aran
Also with tiny head
You cant eat it anyway. Relax.
So you told her the lie
Idk I'm barreling towards little Aran. As the misterious John who wanderer
Cant tell you since itās spoilers
it all works out in the end..so it's not a lie š¬
i just figured out the sorrowfield village questline map is actually grace village
gracetown
is that the village covered in fog? i play the game in CN sub and dub, so not too sure about the EN namings..haha
It's weasel fart town
Yeah and the mansion that's burning is Zheng family's house I think...
dont care if it was a minor thing
it was
heart melting.
They all got kicked out
The whole village is the Zheng clan
And us too because we have the power to enter the past
No idea why. Gullible is our innate trait
Thats a recurring theme I saw it used as well in another game where you see the past as to why x villain is doing this or the answer to how you were betrayed
i just played the "her legacy" quest, i am never taking that red bracelet off.
Broke your heart didn't it
tearing up as we speak
Wanna rlly tear up
Relax we will see ruby soon. The devs took our suggestions in discord
Undead ruby here we go.
