I don’t think our definitions of “Gacha” are similar. I am aware of Gacha purely being anything that rolls for items, regardless if it puts you ahead of someone else.

Gacha isn’t synonymous with P2W. Pay to win is simply just a concept that gets strung a lot in the genre, among other types of games too.

This game definitely defers from a normal gacha in the fact that it places cosmetics on a wheel rather than game progression, but that doesn’t make it non-gacha. Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter and has changed how people view the genre because of how it handles server wipes.

At the end of the day, every source under the sun has called this game a gacha, I’m inclined to hold my belief that it is. A good portion of it is rolling numbers. It not being predatory doesn’t exclude it from the genre. Gacha doesn’t define what it is in its entirety, but it still could be considered one.
