Preexisting Family Converting to Elf

I think most people start as a custom elf ruler with no prior family. If you'd like to start as a preexisting character, it would be nice if their family came with you on the first expedition (maybe a choice) so your children/wife etc convert with you and get the trait.

Why arent you bringing your family with you? They already SHOULD be able to come on the expedition but the participant selection screen is finicky sometimes.

If you cant do so consistently its a bug I need to work on

Not sure. I maxed out both options before leaving. I didn't manually invite them tbf, but I forget that feature exists even in base game.

you have a tab above the button to validate the shipment which allows you to choose who comes

I always build my starting character as human, that way I'm not 'cheating'. As for taking my family on expedition with me, I didn't realize that was possible. I just accepted that I would have to kill all my male heirs that were born before becoming an elf.

Problem is that you can only pick "categories" of people, and when kids are not your pupils and minors, I don't think they always come 🤔
