How about you explain what changes were made to the classes for the new season before we play so we're not surprised. Like when fighter lost punching specialist skill without telling anyone...

Can we get the dev notes and guidelines for these changes. I would like an explanation on thought processes. Like why did barb, wiz and cleric get so much attention and the other classes get so little when they all could use some help.

Honestly I can understand not wanting to tinker with every class due to this preseason really well balanced outside of soulstones

From what I understand, the devs focus on the meta of the meta -- how the various class-specific skills and abilities influence the likelihood of wins/eacapes--the goal of which being for all classes to have equal potential to succeed in the game.

Now, imagine putting probability data in the hands of players, many of whom are already maximally exploiting what they know about the game in toxic ways. Now, ...imagine everyone having an opinion about said data, and having THAT shape the nature of player feedback each season. No thank you. To your desire to have the granular details behind the changes--never gonna happen. We, as players, cannot be trusted to behave responsibly with that knowledge.

As to your question of why so much focus on these particular classes:

  1. Barbs are the new rogues--the scapegoat class we blame when we can't win (Clerics are next, mark my words). So, that's why them.
  2. Wizards and Clerics...
I'm speculating here, but I bet that magic classes (Cleric, Wizard) are pretty volatile--difficult to balance as individual classes and even more difficult to balance across characters. Expect there to be consistent tweaks for them for several seasons.

Same thing happened in pc
First it was rogues, so they got dirt napped

Then it was Barb, dirt napped

Then fighter, so they did absolutely nothing to fighter for years

Then WL, dirt napped

Then Bard and cleric, so they did nothing to them for years

Then druid, so they never "finished" druid and used that as an excuse.

Then they finally nerfed fighter, Bard, Druid and Cleric and gave some power back to rogue and barb.(a bit too much power back to Barb if im being honest, they could access 100% physical pen and oneshot full plate fighters with one skill and one perk)

Then released a brand spanking new class that hits like a truck and has tons of options: sorcerer.

Rogue was damn near unplayable for years unless you had crazy gold for at least a 20k kit, they literally have negative physical damage bonus on pc without decent gear and can only use the lowest physical power weapons.

Only within the past year did the classes start to get closer to each other in balance, then Sorc came along and I can see that power gap coming back.

I can already tell AoD balance team is better.
They actually seem to take feedback from the community BUT with a grain of salt, which is great.

Well, that and every decision doesn't have to go through one guy with a """"vision"""" who very clearly mains fighter.
