Hello everyone, I had an idea for a change to Falling Attack. I was thinking that it could change to an active skill instead of a passive. Also, put in a reasonable cooldown of say like 10 seconds. Why? Let's use Barb as an example. If Falling Attack was an active skill instead of a passive, Barbs would have to choose their active skills wisely and couldn't run Fear, Undying, Falling Attack, etc, all at the same time. Couple that with a reasonable cooldown and there would be less spamming and more skill as Barbs and Fighters would want to be more choosy when they use it. Thoughts?

using falling attack requires skill
it's hard to land a headshot which is the primary reason to use it
and if you miss you are easily punished
it's not that op
it's a core part of combat
if it was an active skill it would need a buff
currently all it does is increase damage by 15 percent and stun if it is a headshot
falling attack need skill, you got kill by falling attack just because you are noob, falling attack need buff as barb deed buff too.
that's most barb player talking about. but can you off your auto-aim and then talking this, barb just jump and attack, auto-aim suck you sword to my head😋
as a ranger just kite
a longer cooldown isn't a bad idea
but at the same time it's not that op to spam it for the reasons listed above
however the cooldown is currently quite short
also the range is bad
you get more range just by swinging normally due different animation

Not really since I’ve seen many people either use evade or clash right after missing a falling attack to cancel out the recovery
I would agree it takes a bit of skill if it weren’t for the fact that you can miss and quickly flick it to the opponent to get the hit after the animation plays
It's the fear and falling attack combo that locks you out of counter playing. 1.5 second lock down followed by a stun is game over for most classes. Which isn't fun to lose too so people don't come back.
It’s no different than a swing of the sword regularly and this is what people tend to miss. simpletons, you take a huge risk to gain that +15% damage and stun.

Also that 15% can add up especially with the naturally high damage of the Zwei or whatever weapon the user is using. And as Kren said, it ain a huge risk if the character is feared and which also comes with a 6 second slow. More than enough for two free hits…
Thank you it pisses me off every time I enter a dungeon I know there is barb headhunting for your kit and there's not a whole lot you can do except try to get to the stone while he finds the other 7 players

Ah falling attack the timmy killer. Good barbs rely on much more than falling attack spam. Undying is the true terror of barb. Can beat them to death in 5-6 seconds and then have to fight them all over again for almost double that time in invincibility mode
