Jesus Christ that's a lot of tankyness
So you're the dude who slammed me in arena
Yea thats a super tanky build
You were in blue gear and I still couldn't kill u with legendary weapons
W passives but I’d recommend blazing ray over prayer of restoration. Most of the time you’re already tanky enough that it’s more useful to have a spammable heal (BR) for your teammates
I would use advanced healer
Beacon of hope and prayer of restoration will already make people super low
Sorry I think there’s a miscommunication. I’m saying that Blazing Ray is a better active skill than prayer of restoration. I agree that advanced healer is a top pick, plus it works great with blazing ray
Sorry misread that
But blazing ray isnt good because you have to aim use it and its single target
Prayer of restoration brings more value because its an aoe spell, and the damage is near the same. It also works through walls
If you have problems with the cooldown, just use a book
Blazing Ray isn’t single target though, it affects everyone in its path. Sure it won’t hit everyone all the time but in my experience you just need to have good positioning
But even then you can use BR like 5-6 times in the same amount of time you could use Prayer of Restoration 1-2 times, so it’s a lot easier to use in that sense
its still bad because you cant heal yourself with it nearly ruining the survivability of the build
Skill issue
Had a super similar build but I didn't notice death ward working for me and I was rarely going down so I just took it off for spells I used that hammer smash and the 2nd I switched it up but started using Bind just for those kiting wizards/rangers lol
The Rogue that just kills you because he jumps around you and you can't land the blazing ray and now you're out of willpower because that ability eats it up.
Skill issue.
Ngl I think Death Ward requires extremely high physical defense and healing. Otherwise you just end up upping the amount of hits it takes to kill you by 1. Noticed it being that way for a couple Clerics in Arena last night.
Well yeah, if you can’t land your shots with the ray then it is a skill issue.
But the same rogue (if they have half a brain) will bait out your Prayer of Restoration and take very little damage from it. Then you’re stuck on a 25 second cooldown praying the rogue doesn’t use their superior movement speed to kite your melee swings. If only you had a high damage, low cooldown ability that dominates at mid-range to keep them away 🤷‍♂️
Lmfao. Keep me away. Good luck. The only reason prayer of restoration works is because my feet need to touch the ground.
Otherwise I just circle you and stack poison to +7. Then I jist dodge and distract while keeping poison up. Pretty much every cleric starts to fall apart when they're taking -70% healing rate.
Along with a flat 7 damage a tic.
Honestly the best Rogue counter that Clerics have, and possibly the best Rogue counter in the game, is divine burst.
Also AoEs like prayer of restoration are excellent for knocking Rogues out of stealth.
Also, if we're talking Arena. There's no baiting the prayer if they're a good team. It heals allies and damages enemies, there's no reason to activate it prematurely and get baited. The best thing I can do is kill the cleric as fast and aggressively as possible. Generally using poison bomb to debuff his allies while I run past them to focus down the cleric.
If the cleric gets seperated from his team it's a wrap. I've had so many clerics foolishly run away from their team trying to run from me on Arena.

If you take ~80-100 damage to the face from BR and don’t back up, then you’re just gonna get another 80-100 in 3 seconds while the cleric stays out of melee range. Most players will back up.
-
Again, skill issue. Maybe you can bounce around better than the other rogues I’ve seen but tracking/aiming hasn’t been an issue for me while using BR.
-
Imo one of the main draws of Prayer is the self-healing. Rogues (and wizards) having healing negation further increases the likelihood that using BR will be better than Prayer in a fight.

I agree, divine burst is great. But if you’ve already been hit that many times by a rogue, you want a damage option ASAP to make them back off or kill them outright. But oops, look at that- your Prayer still has 15 seconds on its cooldown. Should have brought BR.

Getting into overall Arena strats, I like bringing Divine Shot for dazing rogues who want to rush me so that my teammates can help me clean up. But also, if a rogue can run past my teammates uncontested and kill me then there are larger issues than what skills I’m using. You could suggest using Prayer to get them out of invis if that’s what the rogue is using, but you’re risking being vulnerable with that lengthy cooldown if you guess wrong.
You make fair points but in my experience Prayer is just too situational. Probably Shadow Realm is the main place that it performs well due to the small rooms.
I've never had anyone able to restrict my ability to reach the backline in Arena. That's why I stopped taking stealth. I could just double jump the pillers if I felt so inclined, but I don't need to. I can jump on the barrels, double jump off them if I need to. And jump over the cover wall with double jump.
