Footstep indicator is necessary not all people that will play this game are pro or have headphones/headset... I mean you probably look at the footstep indicator because its helpful.

The footstep indicator is good , if it showed enemies that would just remove half the effort in the game

As far as sound goes I enjoy the ability to know someone is around based on their step sounds but we should be able to sneak and be quiet if we crouch
