#Prefab VS Atlantis comparison (w/ pictures)

So, vs the atlantis, the prefab has some key weaknesses
-it is frontheavy, and sways as a result of its bilateral weight distribution
-the stearing is very snappy
-it suffers from "Bobbing", a back and forth rocking motion that affects light aircraft
-it has tires to prevent fall damage, which is good, but its center is vulnerable to any irregular obstruction. It survived two landings on flat ground, but landing on a tree destroyed it. It has survived subsequent landings.
All in all, theres a lot to work with and a lot thats off, its a mixed bag. Taking off and dropping are intensive efforts, you need to focus and be quite gentle. Meanwhile, the seaplane pictured drops smoothly, it turns smoothly, there is an emphasis on motions which have drive without jerkiness.
I would say, all in all, while it doesnt compete with a hefty player design, its actually still quite good, and was a pleasant surprise for myself. Its a fantastic tutorial for new players or players who have trouble with aircraft; more significantly, it's exposed, meaning that a player can learn about how it functions and how to build a better craft just from observing its skeleton. I think its a fantastic specimen.
What I would do better:
While testing the planes and collecting pictures with @livid blade, we decided to make some upgrades to it, to see if we can improve its function. This came in the form of two simple tweaks, and nothing else:
-two balloons, at the very end of the middle segment, which do not deflate.
-two thrusters, right at the base of the front segment, which are in sync with the already established turning thrusters.
(see 4th picture)
These changes combined led to a smoother yet powerful turning ability, a smooth (but still speedy) descent, a much lower risk of destruction upon landing impact, and a massive decrease in bobbing. Thats what I mean when I say this is a fantastic specimen, it only took these two changes and its good enough for dedicated use on a survival world.
here are some pictures of the competitor, my seaplane design, atlantis. pictures are once against courtesy of @livid blade
