Pretty much that, make characters more firmly planted on the floor, and make it harder to achieve very fast speeds. Should help against pushing people around with your weapons, make sure footing more important, and reduce the amount of racecars circling the colosseum.

Dampening people's speed specifically when they're after a certain velocity could help normalize moveset speeds.

Basically, the faster you go, the more the game tries to slow you down

It could stand to be a tad bit higher overall to help stop people sliding very fast

more friction in general, hands shouldnt move as quick as they do when on loose grip.

So with linear dampening, how does that work? Is that just the speed of the centre of the model, or every part independently? So would that mean just slower movement around the map for running/throwing, or slowed limb/weapon movement too?

Increasing the drag shouldn't be the answer. Just increasing the Character Rigidbody's Friction aswell as the Floor Rigidbody's Friction should fix the issue
