i think this should be possible
the hurt boxes are cubes so it may not be amongst the first weapons to get added but id love to see it get added
yeah
Huh, the more you know
a lot of things in game design are secretely very simple shapes that come with the game engine by default
cubes
cylinders
pills
I just assumed you used mesh colliders for complex physics
but I guess i was wrong, pretty cool :?
:)*
You could but if two complex meshes collide it takes a long time to calculate so its easier to just make the head a sphere or several spheres since you don't need a mesh for that but can instead use simple math
So I guess you could detect the hooking mechanics with a bunch of simple colliders on the hook blade and make it look like there's complex collisions happening 🤔
Yes, precisely that is the case and that's how most games do it
If the players don't complain you've done a good job on your hit boxes and hurt boxes
I honestly couldnt tell with playing gladio mori so they must be doing something right 😂
For the physics models and colliers for curved weapons it may be difficult to do unless you create three near seamless links with individual hit boxes and the collisions would be havoc on your ram, it's definitly a cool idea and I hope they can add it tho
from what i understand, hatchets are able to hook other weapons, so would a similar principle not be applicable to those hook swords?
I untimed you out sorry about that auto mod got you
:(
I do NOT wish to be hooked, and dragged aroundðŸ˜
Then learn techniques to defend against attacks!!!!
Too much work
GG @timid otter, you just advanced to level 8!
day 212 without Hook Swords
5084 hours
305071 minutes
18304261 seconds and counting
done day my friedn
one day
But 69 funny number
hey a workaround to this issue is just having a blocky hitbox, doesn't look the best but it works nonetheless, as for the bladed hitboxes, that can be handled seperately.
hell yeah
