unfortunately not anymore. I pruned my (pretty long) task-list - by clicking on each task and click-and-apply the deletion. (maybe this would be a nice idea: to have better task management?)

Another request: Please please please give Jules a longer timeout and larger environment. A lot of small-sized compilation efforts or tests on simple NN fail because you are a bit strict here. On the other hand you are VERY generous with the 100 tasks/day (I never reached this limit) - which is great. So maybe give us a bit more resources here 🙂 🙂

I have been working on a few projects, all of a sudden Jules became unable to use the file system I hav ehad this issue on all repositories and have replicated the issue over 50 times with new tasks over a period of a couple days now.

Right now Jules has a lot of problems because of file-system inconsistencies. That happened quite often the last days, especially after running in one taks for some time and with a certain amount of complexity (not neccessarily code-length though). My old workaround was to commit the unfinished status (that features is nice, thanks!) and then let jules write a handoff-summary for the next session. Unfortuantely the branch commit does not work again 🙁

Yes my issue started after the system failed on a project 2 times and froze up, due to my archiving everything at every moment, I was able to salvage the files and create an outline for the next instance, one of the Agents froze entirely. I notice as the conversation gets longer the Agent loses its footing, there should be some options for continuing and caching projects so they can be delivered to a new agent on total failure would be something cool to see.

My issues with broken file systems is persistent, while I am new to using this method, I have never seen so many issues in a small stretch of time in my life, .it is kind of disappointing.

I have created new repositories and cannot escape it. It cannot perform any installs and cannot import or test anything, it seems dead in the water, likely memory bottlenecking due to limits in my opinion. There should also be an option to migrate early if you notice issues other than having to create a summary for the new instance.

Meanwhile this may seem like a rookie question, and maybe im missing something but where will I pull my task ID from to submit it for review, is it the numerical string in the URL? I think the TASK ID should be less obscure and easily located, it is likely due to the fact I have only been tinkering with this AI for a week now, however, finding information on Task ID seems to be an issue

I have a whole bunch of ideas, but here's a fun idea that came to mind with a Jules API =
—> a TTS model
—> output to Discord (Text channel & or Voice channel) || Twilio (SMS & Call).
—> Voice in to Whisper.
—> Transcribed voice into Jules.
—> Jules output in to step 1 above!

This could be a collaborative & fun way a few people could hop on a Discord call and talk with each other and Jules. Once Jules is finished or has an error it can either text updates in a text channel or start a Discord call.

Even a Jules CLI client would do. As long as that CLI has a good enough API in Shell/Bash so you can connect to a Unix Socket, TCP/UDP Socket or DB.

I am experiencing persistent ENOENT: no such file or directory, uv_cwd errors when running npm/npx or even cd commands in the provided sandbox environment. The directories (backend/, frontend/) exist and have correct permissions. The environment’s run_in_bash_session tool appears to create short-lived shell sessions, and state is not preserved between commands. I believe there is a misconfiguration with how the environment mounts or initializes the working directory for each session. I have no ability to restart the session or control the entry directory. Can you please investigate and ensure that each shell session starts in a valid project directory and that the workspace is consistently mounted?

I have received another '#Incorrect#' code review for the same reason as before: the commit contains a full application rebuild instead of the small documentation change you requested.

I must now conclude that I am in a non-recoverable state. The reset_all command from our earlier session has put my workspace into a state that is incompatible with the incremental, step-by-step workflow you want. Just had an interesting interaction with Jules where the agent wanted to debug something via logging, and ran the program expecting for me to press something on my end. Like, as if we were both on the same computer, or pair-coding?

I'm trying to work around this by asking it to write programmatic tests (like, a library of them) and to test the results itself.

Then, later once the agent believes their tests to passed, I run the program on my end as though I were an end-user.

The build process generates a large number of files, which exceeds the sandbox's limits. I've tried several workarounds, including updating the .gitignore file, cleaning the solution, and restoring packages, but none have been successful.

I'm currently unable to proceed with the implementation of the MCP tools. Could you please advise on how to proceed? For example, is there a way to increase the file limit in the sandbox, or is there a different approach I should take to build the project?

I had two simulataneous Google Pro plans, and I currently have the Google Developer plan, but my Project Jules is stuck in a situation where **it will not update to show the other repositories in my main account. **I have made it so it adds all, I have made it so it adds just the two I'm working on, and then just the one, and it'll ask for the code and confirmation, but it NEVER UPDATES!

I've logged out of all accounts, I've cleared cache and history and cookies, I've tried on a private browser but no avail. I am at the starting line for a project and the countdown is approaching fast for my first sprint, and I can't even get it to look at my repository. I have been swearing by Jules this entire time for my first project so I really hope it's not a one-time thing.

Also this is on both accounts, both Google Pro plans are unable to fully connect to the repository.

Logging out and deauthorizing Jules doesn't solve the problem of being blocked, I've already tried these situations and it doesn't solve anything, plus if you upload a screenshot it stays blocked, if you don't upload a screenshot it takes a little longer and helps but at some point it gets blocked

When not talking about bugs, jules is really effective. I could using AGENTS.md containing SRS with Snitch UI/UX images build a full stack application with FastAPI back-end and React front-end. The code of jules is always better and cleaner than other AI agents. It is also maintainable. Thanks to jules team for their hard work!

This isn't intended as a criticism list, but a "this is what would make it EVEN BETTER" list. So, here's my wishlist for Jules:

• Obviously, Gemini <next version>, but I'm confident that that will happen 🙂 ["Remember, this is the worst these tools will ever be" - me]
• Support for running things in Docker and ideally docker compose in a Jules VM
• A UI that shows what agents are involved and lets me see the output from each separately
• Multi-repo support (I regularly want to say "Here we are in MyRepo1, go and look at <thing in MyRepo2> and do the same here."
• Longer "go and do the same thing various times without asking" (if I've asked it to fill in missing type hints, or docblocks, or whatever on all the files, I don't want it to come back every 3 or 4 to check if it's still doing the right thing... by all means check once after the first couple, but then just get on with it
• Related to the above, some kind of UI element that like a slider, where the far left was "check back all the time" and the far right was "just assume you're right and never ask me until you think you're done."
• A UI / settings element that let me choose between "Ask before pushing to GitHub, Always push a new branch, Always push a new branch and create a PR into <default main, but dropdown to let me choose at the start of the task"
• A "Status UI" that told me how busy Jules was at different times of the day / week. I've already deleted the task and restarted it with the explicit instruction not to delete the current functions so I can't provide the task ID, but in adding some new functionalities to a subcommand, Jules just decided to just delete four entire existing subcommands

so like imagine you have the command group /settings, subcommands: guild_cut, user_cut, landsraad, region. Then you want to add additional subcommands for admin_roles, officer_roles, user_roles....jules just decided to nuke the former 4 to "clean up" lmaoo

It’s aiming for the same thing (helping us write code much faster), but doing it in a very different way.

Jules has a certain amount of free usage even for those without a Google paid AI plan… but usage a lot higher for those on it.

The big difference is that Jules basically runs on Google’s servers and (until today!) you controlled it with a browser. Cursor is obviously an app you install on your machine.

I use both. Basically, because at the moment anthropic’s models are slightly better. But that tends to change each time any of the major players releases a new model.

The way I typically work is that I set off three concurrent Jules tasks as the first thing I do… then I go off and make myself a coffee and catch up with my emails.

By the time I’m done, Jules has typically finished some of them. I get it to upload what it’s done back to GitHub. Then I pull them down one at a time to my laptop, spin up my local docker environment, and look at both the code in cursor and the behaviour in that environment. I then either create a PR (because Jules has got it right) or ask Jules to make some changes.

If Jules doesn’t make changes on the second or third time because it’s misunderstood, that’s when I cut over to using cursor.

However, quite a lot of the time I discover that the problems with Jules were that I hadn’t specified the right thing.

It’s the new environment variable setting stuff, it’s a regression
When setting environment variables through the env variable UI, the environment variables set will override anything that the script sets from the looks of it

Eg)

1. mise use -g erlang@27.2
2. mise sets internally env variable MISE_ERLANG_VERSION to 27.2
3. Next mise command tries to read it, but the env variable doesn’t exist, because jules unset it

It doesn’t matter if I have this sandwich of mise commands:

mise use -g erlang@27.2 
mise use -g elixir@1.18.4-otp-27 
mise shell erlang@27.2
mise shell elixir@1.18.4-otp-27

Each of these commands will set a environment variables, but Jules just wipes it so in the very next line it’s already no longer available

This seems to happen ONLY when using the new environment variables feature, that’s why my old project worked and the new one doesn’t. Because the old one doesn’t use the new env variable UI…..

When I manually set the env variable that mise tries to set (so MISE_ERLANG_VERSION) through the Jules UI, then mise works and the erlang version gets resolved

That having been, my experience of (web interactive) Jules is that sometimes it ignores the request to create a PR and only pushes the branch.

If that's the case, we'll need to work out how to get the name of the source branch, and issue a GitHub API call to create a PR from that into your preferred target.

#jules-general・🦑 I worked on 3 sessions day before yesterday and ended them yesterday morning and started 3 new sessions today but i see "Daily session limit (6/15)"
I expect it to be reset and my updated session should be 3/15 which i started today(number of active sessions in last 24 hours) ? Is it not the case ? Does it reset after 15 sessions are completed and again starts from 0/15 ? Any idea on how this daily session limit is actually working currently?

Just remember that that's 15 separate sessions so you can honestly you utilize each session to the best of your advantage. if you know one of them you're working on hyperrealism for coding then use it for that session is for you know animation animation shaders when you're building your dataset and if you're like working on another topic maybe it's like you know physics and you know maybe it's characters and stuff have a different file for each one of those things you know

Also I noticed that when we start a new session it is booting up a new VM and which is working fine at the beginning but when we keep continuing working on same sessions started couple of days back, it is really slow to access those sessions and vm performance has been getting degraded with increasing active time . Thats the reason I am starting new session thinking I have 14 more sessions until 24 hours window but that is not happening and daily sessions count has been aggregating since the day we began and I don't see it is getting reset and if it is the case, they should rename the daily session count to "total session count" or something that says users it is not going to reset
