VEO 2 has the ability to provide it "ingredients" so you can supply a picture of yourself. VEO3 can't currently use ingredients. VEO 2 results don't look very good to me, but it's the only option you have if you want to make it look exactly like you. Otherwise you can try with prompt engineering techniques.

I just setup my prompts for random dialouge and interactions and tell the AI to figure it out. It works out to about 80% quality and funny videos, while the rest is just not good.

Has anyone else tried to use VEO 3 Frame to Video and found that it's nearly useless because it shifts color, shadows, vibrance, maybe even exposure and becomes extremely contrasty? I've found a workaround that I do on my upresed versions of the videos. (I upres from 720p to 2k using TOPAZ Starlight Mini, it's way better than using the 1080p clips from google).

Not sure this is the right please to suggest this, but hey, many people out there are stuck because of stupid regional regulations, like here in Europe: You can use Veo3 and Flow from any country with a VPN, but not with your current account ... You have to follow few steps :

Use a VPN set to a U.S. location. (I'm using NordVpn but I guess any would do)

Open a different browser (not Chrome) and make sure you're not logged into any Google account. I used Microsoft Edge, to make sure there is NO connection to my Chrome profile.

Create a new Google account, US random address and your phone number for verification (mine is German, and worked just fine)

Add your real credit card, but use a random U.S. billing address (this won’t affect the payment process).

Go to Flow and subscribe to the Google AI Pro Plan.

I’m on the Ultra plan and using Flow → Veo 3 Quality (8 s, 16:9) .
The video renders fine, but the audio track is either missing, pure static, or a strange Arabic-sounding mumble.
I’ve tested:
• different voices (en-US baritone, default, etc.)
• fresh prompts and retried seeds
• shorter & longer dialogue
Same result every time.
Example line I need:
“That’s where Avant Garde comes in. We specialize in seismic retrofitting—strengthening your home to protect your loved ones from the next major seismic event.”

Has anyone run into this bug or found a workaround?

Once the video is generated you can upscale to 1080p for free with Flow. For 4k you will need to utilize a different upscaling service..

Veo 3 fast is great for 720 (plus you can upscale for free to 1080 on download, in Flow) - it's great for testing your prompts. Use Veo 3 Quality when you need prime output, but I'd always test/start with Veo 3 fast to ensure my prompt is good to risk the higher cost alternative (Veo 3 Quality).

Im still new to this, but i made a test (the same exact prompt) with fast and quality, and surprisingly, the fast one looked better (somehow the quality made it look more cartoonish and messed the audio too).

Considering that, wouldnt it be better to generate 4-5 times fast one instead of 1 quality and you just pick the best outcome of the fast? (it will still cost less, and you will have more choice)

short answer, yes, start with Veo fast. Then move to Veo 3 when you need a much higher quality (say for a client), having tested your prompts first in Veo 3 fast.

You need to develop a high detail description of your character, and use it every time you want that character to appear. Imagine every time you make a video clip, every clip is from fresh, from new, you must treat the AI generator as though it didnt remember what you just did. Be very specific about a characters' details and you should be fine. If the character's voice isn't what you want, you can use Eleven Labs to play in the current voice and then replace the voice with one more suited.

Funnily enough many users think that Gemini is worse. What does your prompting look like. Anecdotally, it does seem that Gemini has some prompt context enhancement built in, whereas Flow's seems to expect more. from your prompt.

Its not quite there yet but your options are either to use Veo 2 and add a reference image of your character using the Ingredients-to-Video feature, or to write a very detailed physical description of your character and use it in every prompt in Veo 3. (lots of trial and error)

Oof, yeah wasting credits is never fun. What prompt are you using currently? As stated above, the prompt really has to be detailed and specific for any semblance of character consistency.

So the biggest thing for subject consistency is dialing in a descriptive prompt and reusing that for each new scene. For human-like subjects it will always be more difficult because our eyes are trained to spot every inconsistency. With non-human subjects (animals, objects, etc.) it's much easier to get away with it being off a bit.

Using the same clothes or something unique like a "red bandana" that draws attention will make it feel even better.

Here was my attempt at making a more real and humanoid version of Bigfoot instead of just talking gorilla.
