yeah xD thats fair. This one was tricky. It's given me something to try and incorpoate in my prompt methodology. Essentially if you add dialogue it REAAAALLLY wants the subject to face the camera. So you can do it in two parts or you can ask a narrator to voice the line. Narrators tend to have a sticky "narrator" voice tho.

I have to say it, I feel a bit ripped off. I got sucked into Veo3 because it's very impressive and wanted to create some short 8 second videos with consistent characters. I signed up to Ultra because the Google marketing suggested that using ingredients was the way to enable character consistency. It's only when you complete the subscription, try using the feature in Flow that it reverts to Veo2 which has no audio which is effectively useless to me. I know its cool and I appreciate its going to get better but I still feel ripped off due to the lack of transparency from Google on what should work vs what does today

You do realise that people are paying Google to be their testers.
This is not about expecting perfect results, we understand that won't happen. It's about fairness. Getting credits back for useless outputs should be a given, especially considering the cost of those credits. It's ok for the video to not be how you imagined it visually, but the audio has to be there. It's a fault at their end.

That's how I've been going about it so far. I just never been a very good artist of any kind and it shows when I'm not including details like lighting or audio. But I decided while I wait for that Prompt Alchemist to release, I'm gonna build a Gem for now. I'll just pull what details are required/recommended for a professional prompt followed by telling the Gem it's purpose is to help me construct prompts with that info. Going to try to get it set up where it asks me probing questions one at a time while providing examples of answers for that question. So I can give it my main idea and it will ask me questions until I meet the goal and it generates a copy/paste prompt for me to try.

Got it -- even if we turned off the audio the credit cost would be the same I'm afraid (it'd be the same model). There are other models you can use with lower credit cost, but of course we can't guarantee that if you later made a higher quality generation with Veo3 it'd be the same as e.g. a generation made with Veo2. Some folks have success 'storyboarding' with just images first too. And you can always alter the "Outputs per prompt" to save credits.

I 100% agree. So I instead built it to teach me step by step while proving examples of how I can improve. It's loaded with the info to be a successful "director" of scripts/prompts to help it challenge me by identifying missing pieces I could provide. So the more I use it to build my scripts, the more I learn about things to consider and how to construct/compose my sentences for better results. Figured getting some skills would be a good idea 😅

I tried everything possible already. Here is the example below where “Hey John! Welcome! the way the ai credits work is very shady, unprofessional, and is not made clear at all how they work or even that you are using them each time. they dont offer refunds for unwanted or glitchy/deformed people/not what you asked for etc or for any other reason, and even if you were charged for more than you used and it was the system's fault, they claim there is nothing they can do about it

I dont know why im surprised at this i guess though, google support shouldnt surprise me anymore at this point but im like this probably should still be in beta if they have not even figured out how to deal with the credits yet or maybe not even have them out yet if they arent going to offer support for things that go wrong

Take a screen shot if it gives you a character look that you like and import it to chatgpt and ask it to spit out a bulletproof physical description for veo3 - those are all options

For anyone coming on here to complain about ingredients/frames/extending scene problems in Veo 3, maybe save your breath. Yeah, I get it, it's frustrating, but it's not like someone at Google Labs said "I know, let's create a platform where someone can make 8 second videos with audio but can only extend without any audio."

It's where they are with the development of the entire platform, and I'm sure they're working on it. When they figure it out and eventually work out all of the bugs, it's going to be way beyond what currently exists on any other platform. Now, I agree that maybe they shouldn't be selling it until those issues are resolved, but I can also acknowledge that as far as realism and lip sync goes, that first 8 seconds is absolutely the highest quality I've seen yet. And I'm not referring to space suits, talking Sasquatches or gorillas, but AI humans that look so real that it's nearly impossible to distinguish from real. My project can't proceed until I can extend or use ingredients/frames to create, so I'm frustrated too.

It'd be better if people weren't getting lured in to breaking out their credit card thinking they were going to be able to create some full production, only realizing after buying that they are limited to 8 seconds. And it's not a small amount of money out of pocket in order to find that out. But either cancel your recurring billing until Veo 3 is completed or Veo 4 comes down the pike, or be patient. If they can create outputs like this with the 8 seconds, we are probably only a matter of weeks away from being able to extend, or use ingredients and frames, what have you.

Be patient, or move on elsewhere and check back in later.

Even though I’ve switched to the Ultra subscription and attempted to access Veo 3 (quality), I keep receiving this message:

"Switching you to a compatible model for this feature. Submit again to confirm (or check settings for details)."

It doesn’t allow me to use Veo 3 and automatically reverts to Veo 2 instead.

What am I missing here? Is this really the level of access I get, even after paying such a hefty subscription fee?

I've been wondering about this for a while. How long or ideal should the prompt be? If I use too many details, it becomes very long, and I don't know if Veo3 interprets text-heavy messages well and the algorithm simply ignores parts of the prompt.
