‘Short bus’ was my first attempt to make a narrative film with Flow I did use Sora for the one shot where the bus crashes off the overpass. I tried some of the extension tools to create longer shots and experimented with camera orbiting. It starts slow it’s mostly slow but if you can get past the breakfast scene it gets more entertaining. It’s a surreal film about the first time you have the realization of death as a child and the brutal institution we’re all trapped in. Anyway AI isn’t fond of death or gore or using kids so some wonky stuff because it’s completely prompt no image reference for the characters. But I think learning into the wonkiness can be a interesting experiment

Really love how everything is centralized and not having to switch back and forth between Flow and Whisk. With using frames to make videos I think the seasonal changes in this short was my favorite to play around with. Not having to worry about character consitencey as much as before really takes a load off.

I made this video last year for fun. I had made an image in Midjourney that I really liked, and would like to see animated. So I continued with that image from Midjourney - and used Veo 3.1 to make the video/audio - and Capcut at the end.
I prompted partly vaguely to give the AI as much leeway as possible, so that much of the monologue is entirely AI generated. Parts of the monologue is bespoke. But 60-70% is entirely generated, which adds to some of the humor. Strange similes and allegories arise.

From my personal experience, I've found that:
- I use the first scene as a base to establish the art style.
- I always try to maintain an angle of about 45 degrees (if I use a frontal view, the long hair changes into short hair, which is a failure).
- I avoid scene changes (Flow seems to have trouble going through doors).
These are just some of my experiences. (This is purely my personal experience.)

1 - I start in ChatGPT or Claude to stimulate ideas. Those usually have to get adapted to improve the story and make me happy with it. I also ask ChatGPT to suggest prompts, which helps with ideas, but I usually adapt them and write my own based on the suggestions.
2 - I work in Nanobanana to create the character sheets and sets. If I have to put a character into a set I can do it with Nanobanana or Photoshop. Sometimes this helps as I find using Ingredients causes more halucinations in Flow.
3 - Then I start to generate the videos, and I assemble them in Final cut as they are done so I can see if the movie is working as it comes together.
4 - and finally its all about sound design to bring it all together. I use Eleven Labs if I need to work on the voices, and Envato to find music and sound effects.

My best Veo output so far... I'm a Sora refugee; it seems Veo makes a lot less assumptions and expects a lot more direction, but the actual output seems reasonably good! I really love the workspace interface as well, having nano banana built in to the same interface is really nice.

Hey friends, so I had an idea for a short story/vignette. Now its done, i'll take what i've learned from my experience fighting the prompts and hallucinations to start a different story. I decided to go for a podcast setup, and cut away to show world or action. Its a good cheat to get out of jail when you hit a wall. I'm using Flash - Fast (Low priority) model to save credits. I decided to go with anime for a few reasons. Bukimi No Tani or "The uncanny valley". We humans instinctively become averse to something pretending to be real (Coining the term AI slop). Why am I doing this? A Big hollywood movie costs upward of 1 million dollars per screen minute. A short film will cost upward of 10k per minute, and flow/veo averages around 50-100 per minute depending on what you're using it for. So for me its a no brainer. Its a fun hobby and its no magnum opus, but its something small that might grow into more. And I dont have 10-15k for a short film. I had this idea ages ago and I thought of a cheap way to make a short film with easy camera setups using a podcast environment. Then Veo was born and I tinkered with a few text only prompt projects. now you can use nanobanana for your character and environment assets. I trained notebook LM to help me with the prompting (still not perfect). And I need to establish more art department assets before I get going, cover more angles of an environment, really consider the locations in more detail to be able to get more angles. Maybe project Genie will help me do a proper 3d virtual scout to grab all my angles in future. I can rant on about this all day long. Veo seems to like to embed subtitles, voices, random dialogue and music when its not asked for as well as doing some really weird things. Matt, thanks. To answer your question, the dark shade popping in and out was prompting only. The mirror glitching was built in Final Cut. I had the character walk in front of a green screen in Flow, and then used a keyer on it. Then, using layers, masks, and transitions in Final Cut I assembled it. I couldn't get a prompt to do that reflection in a way that I liked. It's still not perfect as it is not truely a reflection of the character, but it goes by fast enough that I left it.

I've used the portrait of Juno as a baseline, and modified it a bit to make Lumi, her swimsuit-wearing sister. (Me and another AI made her up in a story.) Can you guess the difference between them?

That was about 60 hours of work. I experimented a bit with the stadium setting and ran into a few issues.. for example, if you don’t blur the crowd in the background, the AI really struggles. But that also turned out to be the solution: just blur the people in the background.

More excellent work. You clearly know what you're doing! All the video is clean, scene transitions are professional, beat matching is perfect.. lipsyncing is very close. Only thing I can think of is that occasionally Riley is lit obliquely in one sequence and then lit uniformly in the next. Honestly this is such a minor point that for AI purposes what you create is practically perfect! Great job showing what can be achieved.

It's actually pretty interesting how video generation models till now still have hard time to make consistent generation, the fact that it generate tentacle in from middle of the sign, out of nowhere with no logical basis of it being severe and come out of the middle of the sign.
I don't know but i hope google able to experiment with high framerate video generation, 120fps will allow for smoother transition and maybe more logic consistency.

The scenes were created using flow. Nano banana 2 mostly. And the videos can then be generated using any model you have subscription to. The play is around limiting the movement and scene changes. And then edit using any video tool.

Here's something new I just finished.
Managing to make Flow speak my northern Italian dialect was beautiful.
I made most of it with Flow, plus some Kling and Seedance add-ons. The music was made on Suno. But the voice was all Flow's, and it's spot on.
