I've been trying to use veo3 to make a 58 second scene going in a movie I'm working on but I'm just getting mistakes after mistake. Not one video I have made i can put in the movie. We have movie theaters waiting for the movie. I need accuracy , and while on a indie film budget i cant afford to pay for mistakes all day. here's the prompt , i tried many diffferent forms of prompts but veo 3 refuses to listen and makes it own assumption of what i want. I cant afford to budget for 90 % failures let alone how long it taking to find one that works.

First attempt at making something production ready.

  • The video and ambient sound was created with VEO3.
  • The script was created using OpenAI to pull text from Shackleton's journal, and then modify it for the screen.
  • I used ElevenLabs to create the narration track.
  • Final editing was done in Adobe Premier so that I had control over the end product.

Some lessons learned:

  • Generate lots of clips and figure out how it'll fit together later... trying to generate longer clips or things that flow is still pretty tricky.
  • On-screen dialog is hard to work with, so for now voice-over narration is easier.
  • Clips without music are easier to work with (though sometimes prompting "no music" just causes it to focus on music)
  • Getting historical accuracy is really hard. I couldn't use many of the shots because the ship / tents / clothes were modern.

I'm working on an experiment, trying to make videos with whatever output flow gives me, sort of like testing out the creativity :

Prompt:
A simple underground stand-up comedy setting with dim, moody lighting. A solo female performer stands under a soft spotlight, holding a mic. The camera captures her from a side angle in close-up, emphasising her delivery and expressions. I used 3000 credits to make this and about 6 hours of work. Video was made using text to video prompts in Veo3 with some scenes in Veo2 because I selected "extend" or "jump to" in an attempt to maintain character consistency. It didn't always work out. I assembled the clips in CapCut (where I also removed the captions that Veo3 annoyingly keeps adding even with negative prompts) where I also added transitions and fades.

Tried using Veo for the first time today, it was a cool experience. Being able to extend clips helped me make some clever transitions when it wasn't able to do exactly what i wanted. Anyway, heres game of thrones middle east edition.
