Chat exit input after a msg

Is it possible to make it so after sending a message in chat, it doesn't go back to having the cursor in the chat field and just 'closes' chat like hitting enter will?

so I thought this would be the better way, and it is if you are chilling typing messages like a chatroom, but I keep sending a message and then going to move around and forgetting, needing to exit the chat. so I'm going to add a settings menu in the chat box where this will be an option, and later text size and stuff like that will go in there too
