Even if a game comes to an fully polished state, it usually can’t be launched right away. There are still things like marketing strategy, platform certifications, localization, server readiness, and commercial agreements that need to be aligned before release.

Polishing is just part of a larger process, and that's why not even the developers themselves, much less the Moderators, can give a date
