A mod that adds fake common or fire doors. I know the mimics mod already exists, but the idea here is to have these doors take the player to random parts of the installation, with no way of returning, further turning the place into a maze. This can confuse the player and add another challenging element to the gameplay. It would be interesting if there was little to no indication that the door is fake, making the challenge even difficult.
#Fake Doors (other than mimics)

the counter to it is go in through the real fire exit as most moons have 1
and then you know that all the others are fake
That's exactly why I suggested using regular doors as well, although I understand that sometimes it might seem obvious. I remember that when I installed Mimics, it never caught me, haha 🤪 , because it's easy to figure out which door is the original one. In my idea, you could just add a door that leads to another part of the installation, with no possibility of returning. It would be interesting if this door disappeared after someone went through it.
As for the emergency exit door, I think it could work, since Mimics has that mechanic. It would be interesting to add a chance that, upon using it, the player encounters a hit kill jumpscare or is just teleported somewhere else.
I'm already working on a mod like this, actually! Said "fake" doors in the mod I'm working on are tied to the "Doorman", a creature that imposes rules on all the doors in the facility.
Some doors are "occupied" -- this means that the player has to "knock" (hit it with a shovel, or use the knock button with an empty hand) on the door before entering, or else they anger the doorman.
Some doors are "do not disturb" doors; they can be entered as normal, but if knocked on they anger the doorman.
Some doors are "vacant" doors -- they don't care whether or not you knock or enter, and largely function as normal doors.
Anger the doorman enough, and he goes into his chase phase -- alongside getting teleported as normal through failing a door check, he chases the offending player down, always knows where they are, and will remember their offenses even if they leave and reenter the facility.
Excellent! It seems promising. Will these doors work by teleporting the player to another location within the facility? This could create confusion and lead to interesting situations. Additionally, it would be intriguing if the doors disappeared right after being used, forcing the group to split up.
take a look at another mod suggestion:

what do you think?
with no way of returning you mean a spot like behind locked doors that dont lead to an exit?
Imagine the following scenario: you and your friends have just landed on a moon. You enter a facility and begin to explore, but at some point, someone accidentally walks through a seemingly ordinary door, or a fake "fire exit," which actually serves as a teleporter. This portal transports you to another part of the facility, which could be random, and as soon as you pass through, the door disappears, leaving you lost in an area far away from the rest of your group. With the door gone, your friends won’t be able to follow you immediately. However, it’s certain that eventually, you’ll all reunite. This system of separating the group opens up interesting opportunities for new situations and challenges to unfold.
Of course, the mod would include a well-thought-out respawn system for these fake doors, ensuring that the mechanic doesn’t become overly chaotic or frustrating. The idea is to create moments of tension and surprise, but with balance. The doors would reappear in strategic locations after some time, allowing the group to reorganize or plan new routes to meet up again, keeping exploration engaging without causing unnecessary confusion. This way, the teleportation system becomes a tool to create unpredictable, yet controlled, situations, maintaining the fun and challenge in just the right.
the well-thought-out respawn system sounds like a pain
random with a timer is what most people would do
pretty sure mimic doors is just random chance for doors to spawn
