My first mod that i made, it's quite simple. It adds a light (that acts like a secondary flashlight) to the player's camera that uses uses a battery system and recharges when it's not used (alongside having an indicator for the battery). Also very configurable, with custom colors and some configurable values and indicator styles.

i figured i'd post this in here since i haven't really fully tested the mod yet, so feedback about bugs or certain things that should be changed would be greatly appreciated!

small update to the mod:
-i reworked the code so that the gameobject only gets added when the in-game scene is loaded to avoid unnecessary NullReferenceExceptions
-added two new hud styles (circular and vertical bars)
-fixed the flashlight toggling when in the pause menu
-added a config for the cooldown before the battery starts recharging
-the volume of the flashlight now updates immediately after the config gets changed
-added some debug logs for when the controller gameobject loads or gets destroyed and when the light is toggled

released v1.2.0, which includes:
-separate config options for HUD and light
-configs for changing HUD position
-more battery text options (accurate percentage and battery time left)
-(some) configs can be changed without having to rejoin
-fixed some bugs (indicator not fading in when using the flashlight at high battery times, flashlight not turning off and resetting its battery to 100% when the player dies)
-more logs have been added in case something goes wrong
-some code changes
-an updated readme to include the fact that the light can only be seen on the client of the player with the mod installed

alongside other smaller updates that i've released over the last few weeks, i updated the mod to v1.3, which has multiple bugfixes, more flashlight recharge options, cleaner configs and better overall optimization

oooo this mod seems pretty good to throw in to balance with diversity's TrueDarkness feature... I do wonder if there's any feature for flashlight dimming/flickering to be had for it?

because I see this as a great way to change up the use of flashlights in general

and also maybe some compatability with The Locker's light sensitive mechanic? Although it's not entirely a priority

as for the locker compatibility its alright if you cant do it, again it shouldn't be that prioritized anyways (I just thought to bring it up since its a popular modded entity) so I'd only imagine it being done if you really don't know what else to do ๐Ÿ‘

is one of em a fix to the weird bug the localflashlight has where when picking up a flashlight doesn't allow it to turn on even after dropping the flashlight?

it fixes itself somewhat when you pick up a fully depleted flashlight though

not really important since it just fixed flickering not working when networking was disabled

wait a minute, did you just implement your own version of TrueDarkness (a feature from the Diversity Mod that makes the surrounding area from the player appear to be much darker when there's no light source) into the mod?
