Yes actually, I've been having trouble testing mods because of how low spawn chances are for custom items.

To be honest, in order to detect anything client side related. It'd have to alter the game severely. Mod menus, (Control Company).

Also the fact nothing like this has been done yet, not to my knowledge that is. This'll be difficult.

So, as of now what it does is it uses the lobby name. Now to avoid any confusion Control Company adds a special character to the lobby name when using it, Not a perfect method but it works 99% of the time. If it fails to detect Control Company then the host probably has a mod that removes that special character.

Not sure if it'll be client-side, since I don't even know if that would be possible, but I know a host/server-side mod is in the works to allow item/enemy prefabs to be spawned via a GUI
