This is the first entity concept I've actually shared so bare with me if the description is a bit hard to understand. The Conductor is another toybox entity (like the jester and nutcracker) found commonly in mansions but more common in other interiors than their sibling toy entities. It is unkillable but easily countered by keeping track of its paths and being mindful of where you step.

The Conductor is a large wooden toy train with scratch marks, and faded paint. It is almost big enough to fill a facility hallway entirely, with just barely too little room for an employee to squeeze through. The stains on its wheels and cowcatcher (yes that's what the pointy bit on the front is called) appear after it kills something. On the inside is flesh and bone hidden just out of sight, when the toy facade is unmasked one will find the many arms and face to be stretched and morphed as if they were plastic melted and remolded into something more grotesque, and when active a fire burns bright from within. It’s like a window to hell in there.

This is a simplified visual breakdown of how its mechanics work. But there's some specifics that should be stated to get a better grasp of its existence. The tracks work like the barber with how they become visible with proximity but they are also very dark and do not become visible until you almost standing right on top of them. When it spawns it appears anywhere that's a dead end. Each path it makes must lead from one deadend to another. As it passes by the lights flicker and dust is kicked into the air. When it moves, the carts also appear behind it and keep the motion, it takes a while for the Conductor to pass and when it does it disappears in the dust it creates and reappears at another dead end a short while later (the visual was made before I had the idea of it disappearing). While it can't lay tracks through closed secure doors, something interesting does happen if it lays out track behind an open secure door and then that door is closed. Upon leaving its station and hitting the door, the impact will cause a brief blackout and make it disappear for a lot longer, however when it comes back it will be much faster in preparation.

i forgot to mention this detail, if it runs over an enemy that enemy is respawned somewhere else or the power spent on it is refunded

#

that way the interior isn't left a barren empty wasteland with only the train to worry about

imagine seeing lights rapidly approaching you down a narrow hallway lmao

i wonder how this would work in mineshaft interior.

  1. caves are very narrow, idk if the train makes sense to be there
  2. the non-caves part of the mineshaft has tons of carts n stuff in the middle of hallways, which might look wonky if the train just kinda,, passes through them
  3. there's already minecart tracks in minehsafts, feels weird to have two types of tracks

ig for 2) the train could path around them
