I like how you could've just named this mod, "Old Bird Infestations", but no, you went with, "Curse of Embrion"

You could think of it that way but it's not actually coded as a weather, just its own event
kinda like the random chance for interior fog or infestations
Me putting this in my modpack without telling anyone and seeing their reactions
I do like the idea though, lots of Old Birds just landing on a planet that day

It’s a random event, just uses a flat chance to do. In vanilla weather has an algorithm that is a little more complicated
i hope theres more ways to configure this in the future
i want to make the curse guarantee at least 5 old birds
without reading the mod page, this is incredibly intimidating
a whole mod dedicated to curses(binding of Isaac style) would be siiick
It might be interesting to come up with more curses. I was also thinking of an opposite like blessings.
I've just released v1.1.0, I removed the custom audio feature cause after some time with it I don't think it fit very well. Some other features have been done as well and can be found in the changelog.
I might add this to my ultra modded modpack

I removed the audio voice lines mainly cause they sounded cringe to me after adding them. I could technically cut it down to just me saying Curse of Embrion or rerecord saying just that.
Maybe change them to something else entirely, like distorted Old Bird noises playing briefly. I do like the idea of something like this happening to set the tone during landing

For anyone who didn't get to hear them before I removed them here's one just as an example.
Wait does this spawn way too many old birds, as many as embrion? If so, imagine on adamance
It specifically changes the weight of Old Birds to be like the highest it can be, and increases the power level so more can spawn
Oh and if they are not in the pool of a moon normally it adds them to that pool and does the above.
And yeah Adamance in particular already has a higher spawning rate. When I went there for testing there were quite a bit, and like 4 stacked inside each other lol.

like the group of Old birds coming
I actually like the global sound more now that I think about it, it sounds more ominous
So you imagine it like a random ambience noise kind of with the curse instead?
not an ambience, I think it more as an "Alert" sound that appears when the curse starts
Oh well the curse starts right when the lever is pulled so it would happen right then
But I get the idea it should probably be a global sound instead of emanating from the speaker
i always thought of the sound playing through the ships speaker
like a message sent from the company or something

You know I'm surprised that didn't even cross my mind when making this. I'll fix it shortly.
Alright this should be fixed in the most recent version.
^^^ ship doesnt land after the first moon (you can rejoin and it fixes itself)
all the sounds and stuff are there, but the shutters don't open and the door doesnt oepn
my fps also goes from like a crisp 250 down to 3, and I hear the company drop fly in and leave

Ok if I had to make a guess if you have modded moons installed I bet the order of moons shuffles a bit in game causing it to break. I'll push something for that and hopefully that fixes it.
Sent out an update just now to hopefully fix that issue.

hi hello i just found out about this mod and i love the concept!
i have some questions tho, for starters is the global sound moroxide sent a while back gonna be implemented?, and another thing i noticed is that while using weather registry the "Curse of Embrion" text doesnt appear
I was considering adding it for a time but the sound would play right when you pull the lever to land, I could potentially delay it a little I guess but I think what Moroxide was thinking was like the curse sends in a huge amount of old birds like at some point in the day and that would be the alert noise. As for the text not appearing with that I'll take a look.
thanks!, i dont really think the sound playing just as you push the lever is bad tho, it would work as an announcement that you are entering a cursed moon
I personally thought it was kinda weird but if people don't think so I guess I could add it as a setting

hey sorry to bother, but i just found out that the curse can happen in company moons, at least on galetry, idk if this is intentional or not
It should not spawn on any moon for the company, so definitely an issue. I’ll look into it.
Apologies for the delay, this should now be fixed. The mod only prevented the curse on Gordion but now it should prevent it on all moons where enemy spawning is disabled.

so yeah dw its fixed by now

Hopefully there are no issues with the update, whenever I update a mod there's usually at least like 1 issue so we shall see.

you said there wont be any curses in moons that dont spawn enemies
but oxyde does spawn, even if its a company moon

If oxyde does spawn enemies then it should still work lol. Only if the moon has it set to disable spawning of enemies then the curse wont appear.
