#FPS Boost while outside

Probably to do with the fact the outside is more graphically intensive than the inside, especially if you have CullFactory too.
CullFactory already optimises pretty much the entire interior but we REALLY need a mod which optimises outside.
Maybe some sort of mod which unrenders monsters you can’t see, or unrenders some parts of the landscape like trees or rocks you can’t see.
A mod like that I don’t think has been done. It’d be nice to eventually have mods which optimise most major parts of the game like “Sodium” for Minecraft
try lethal performance and audio reverb fixes
as well as buttery fixes, and then lower the resolution
I did all of that. My game has been able to run at 60 fps all the time. However, when trying to run the game at 120 fps, the game will dip into the low 80s when a lot is going on. My concern is that lower-end computers won't be able to maintain 60 fps, especially if I can't maintain 120 fps.
bruh if its above 60 fps then its fine
I'm fine with 60 fps. My concern is that if people use my modpack, I want to ensure that people can get a stable experience like I'm getting
the problem is probably the mods u are using
When it comes to lower end computers there’s only so much you can do.
A few people in my group get 10-30fps and there’s not a lot we can do, simply a hardware issue
i have the same issue.
so i make sure all my moons and interiors pass a test of getting at least 80fps. (i usually peak at like 110).
if people are having issues though, then just turn down graphics to below the vanilla resolution.
Ironically one of my friends has a laptop with a 2070, and a CPU to match its power.
Unfortunately the laptop has 8GB of ram
well then you need less mods, period imho, as ram is limiting how much you can have running at once
Send me a your modpack. Perhaps I can convice you to try out mine? I've been trying to create a modpack that improves performance and fixes bugs, as well as adding new mechanics that feel vanilla.

I might try your modpack sometime or use some of the mods in it. Just haven’t been at a rush for it since most people in my group run the game just fine
Only really have a few fps boosting mods
With my modpack, logs are nonexistent thanks to me disabling them in BepInEx, however I keep AsyncLoggers because I don't know whether some logs are still generated, plus it asynchornizes them, meaning performance isn't hindered by said logs.
Wait a minute
Someone in my group broke something or at one point something changed but they don’t get fog anymore
And they’re constantly spammed with error logs saying fog doesn’t exist basically.
Asyncloggers might help with that
ngl, adding in as many mods that improve the experience for others, will help your lower fps friends a massive amount. i dont know thier modpack, but in my own, i add in anything i can that will improve their experience otherwise it puts them off playing (and as the other guy said, a lot of them keep it vanilla, it just fixes laggyness/etc)
Theres 5 of us which play LC. 3 of us run the game alright. The other 2 have issues sometimes. One either broke their game when trying to mod manually or maybe it’s because her GPU is 10 years old, she can’t see fog, gets console spam for volumetric materials, and a lot of lag. The other just has a really bad laptop.
I probably should add more performance mods anyway. Do you have any recommendations that make a decent enough difference?
im only going to say a few cause too many..
LethalFixes
VanillaMoonsLagFix
ReverbTriggerFix
ButteryFixes
TestAccountFixes
PathfindingLagFix
loads more in my pack, but i cant sift through them quick and i need to go afk xD
oh forgot one that i couldent find by searching for "fix", LethalPerformance
I had seen LethalPerformance before but wasn’t sure what it did
also LethalPipeRemoval supposedly makes the ship not lower your fps as much (but needs configging and i only just installed it)
Im probably mistaken but wasn’t it doing something with the games lighting system
it improves things... thats all i can say, but it helps
The ship is usually the laggiest place in the game, especially when CullFactory is installed so that might be worth a try
when i install mods, i do a before and after fps check in the relevent place ingame, if it raises my fps, i consider it a helpful fix/mod for improving fps
not sure cullfactory does anything in the ship, its for the interior xD
forgot about cull factory too, lmao
What I meant is when you have cullfactory installed too usually the ship is the laggiest place
Titan and march without cullfactory can suck for lower end PC's
ship is laggy period. as i said, dont think cullfactory affects that.
What I’m trying to say is when you have CullFactory installed the interior pretty much stops being laggy completely. My friend on a really bad laptop could get 40fps inside the building once. Which is a huge milestone for him.
It could usually suck a lot for low end PCs, especially on big interiors like titan and march
So there’s pretty much no competition for the ship after that
I’ll give some of the performance mods a try. They could probably help quite a lot
oh sorry, i misunderstood, didnt realise you were saying the interior gets so good, i was saying for me the ship has always been the worst xD
Not your fault I’m way too bad at explaining things. The ship is too laggy but there aren’t a lot of performance mods for exteriors, let alone the ship.
I already use LightsOut + GeneralImprovements for the ship and it makes it pretty bearable. I’ll try some of the stuff on the list and see if it makes a difference
LethalPerformance, ReverbTriggerFix, VanillaMoonsLagFix, LightsOut, should all improve FPS.
general improvements i wouldent consider something that improves FPS, as far as i understand (not used it), it adds a lot of features to the game, which in my head, means less FPS.
Slightly improves monitors increasing fps
Probably equals lower fps but if you’re downloading for the extra content it’s always welcome. None of the features are performance heavy atleast
Besides it’s compatible with lightsout that’s why I paired them
Oh, at that point there are other things you can find to optimize, like a mod that removes the lighting of the aparathus and the lamp on the ship, or the ship inventory to store scraps and not render them, etc...
i did not know that, not sure the gain is worth the loss, but as you said, if you want all the extra features.
Maybe someday ill replace 50-60 of the mods i have, with general improvements, who knows. xD
