also yeah, the idea is, for the mod by itself, the farming obviously provides you items. And cooking with the items increases its value slightly. And in the case of alcohol, you can keep them, and let them age (only if they are in a wine rack) which increases their value over time. At the risk of losing them if everyone dies
as far as any consumption, it's still very basic on that end atm, only affecting health. I'm going to add more to that soon

okay, so I figured out saving a while ago, I just had 1 problem that only happened when trying to save the specific farmables (but I'd be able to make it work anywhere else). I managed to get something to work, so now I just need to finish up and cleanup, and I can post a small patch for that. I'll ping you once I've uploaded

Farming and Cooking Mod 1.0.1
- Crops and alcohol barrels should now save when leaving. @formal bay this is for you 😀
- Made grape trellis crops rounder and less flat.
- Fixed custom ingredient configs not working for clients (WOW IT'S ALMOST LIKE THIS WAS FORESHADOWED 2 TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS).
- Fixed potential very minor memory leak (would probably only really happen if you kept taking something in and out of storage, or kept starting lobbies in one session).
unlike Melanie from a time one year gone, I now actually make sure I do a decent amount of testing to make sure things don't break for people. This includes multiplayer and late join testing and fixing. BUT if anybody still gets issues, obviously, please report

assuming this is an old save, yes, putting the shelves in storage and taking them back out should probably fix it
reason being, the new save system probably tried to load a 0 value, which includes index, and that would start spawning meat as produce 😭
meaning you have VERY RARE COLLECTIBLE invisible meat plant that takes nutrients to produce meat from your planters 😭
or, something like that. It won't actually load something that doesn't exist yet (in this case the save key). And joining for the first time should only be doing default values
I might be thinking about this too much. There's a chance there's nothing I can do about some old saves, whereas others will be perfectly fine, and it's just an effect of adding new save stuff. But I still want to find a way to make sure this doesn't happen anyways. Even something obscure like a "disable saving" config, for people who want to update, but know their save specifically is incompatible (which idk why only some are)

- Added safety net to abort saving or loading incompatible data, to prevent save breaking. Sorry @rough berry 😭
- Added checks to prevent crops reloading on the wrong planter type.
- Added secondary backup to manually disable save system on configs, at the cost of losing crops and barrel ingredients if you reload the lobby.
- Fixed (and changed check for) player bodies and baby maneater grinder compatibility. This is the one thing I didn't double check to test, but it probably works now 😀😀😀 @maiden basin @kindred apex

uh, do you have old configs? The configs for modded items in the grinder are now just done there. I put the defaults to include those bodies, but anybody with old configs won't get them
so easy solution is to save whatever you currently have in the configs, reset the config, then add the part you saved, back to it

okay, turns out, whereas I moved the list additions to happen onto a Postfix of Awake instead of a Prefix of Start, the latter I tend to just keep doing for some reason, it also seems to specifically stop adding the ingredients info to the SellBodies bodies. But every other custom ingredient still works fine
just uh, trying to see why this is only the case for sellbodies
so turns out this is likely an issue for pretty much any item currently registered by LethalLib
I'm going to try think of a clean workaround, but yeah, it seems like it's doing stuff at start and not awake, meaning my checks happen before it

also, uh update on this again from a while ago. So kind of at an issue here. So it's either staying with the current issue, or going back to the old one where the lists should work for LethalLib items again, but those same items in the lists, that already exist on the ship when a new client joins, will have said client unable to use them as ingredients. Though putting them in, for example, the ship inventory storage would probably make them usable to clients again. And newly spawned items would work

okay, so I managed to find the specific line it errored on, found out the issue with it, and I managed to get the save system to work on the same file and version of the pack that it wasn't saving on
now it's slightly edited, I removed the moons, suits, cosmetics, and emotes mods, to make loading faster. But now I'll do a check on an unedited version just to make sure
but yeah, thank you for reporting! This probably could have been an issue in more packs, and I probably wouldn't have noticed
oh yeah, so fertilizers should refill the NPK values, since the lower they are, the lower (on average) the produced crop's value will be. Also, low enough, and crops will no longer be able to produce. That said, I need to make it so you can fertilizer while a crop is on a planter, since I know some people might like permanent seeds

The larger issue about Windows being vibe coded with updates that Q pointed out is that it’s likely to not only keep causing problems and breaking things with every update but also it’s probably introducing tons of security holes and vulnerabilities as well

I'm not fully sure tbh. The easiest way to find out is honestly to just test. Load the save, plant a seed, exit and rejoin the save, and see if the crop still exists. Worst case is it moves, assuming it works for your save

nah, I don't have a debt mod. The mod only caused it whenever I reloaded after failing to get into orbit, causing me to get into debt. But luckily hopefully in 1.0.3 that should be fixed. (I was on 1.0.2)

Put all planters that you have, in the storage (the current maximum is the shelf, the 3 base planters, and the 2 trellis). Exit the save, load the save again, take them out of storage. If you can plant seeds, exit the save again, and rejoin with them being saved on the planters (even if they moved to another planter), then you should be good
that said, I'd still have to fix stuff for that, but it tells me what's happening more easily

basically what's happening there when you put it in storage, is you're basically refreshing the save data, because it was saving "missing or bad data." That's entirely my bad, but xu told me a general idea of how I could just, you know, make up for that in the future

yeah, this was kind of my thought process, since yeah, people would have to manually reload
but yeah, for the shelf, they all share the same masterplot data. A lot, to make it easier to manage them together, instead of getting too overwhelmed by having to check every single one. That said, I have to add something to sync what shows up
since currently, if a crop uses nutrients, it only updates its own prompt for how much the masterplot is. I'll fix that soon

dont know if this has been reported already, but i was only able to get crops to grow on one landing.
first moon of the run, i buy the seeds, i plant the seeds, i raid the facility, crops grow, i go into orbit, i harvest, then process the wheat and grapes. the 2 subsequent landings yielded nothing after having been landed on both almost all day
not sure what's causing that yet, but I did notice an issue I have to fix in pocket room library, in the log

I am noticing something
it seems like right now, the crops aging each day, and dying after the configured amount of days past, isn't working. I'm pretty sure they're dying of old age after 1 day, but then also not deleting themslves after, at the same time. They will only show they've died, after reloading the save.
so it seems pepsi's issue is lumped in with this one, this time. Where it isn't actually a save issue, it's the age checks failing

sorry for the delay, I had some custom content that was already pretty much ready, and I was too lazy to separate. But I had to fix, fine-tune and test them before pushing. ALSO sorry for the inconveniences, but that should hopefully allow crops to FINALLY save without suddenly not saving after they've lived for 1 day 😭
Farming and Cooking Mod 1.1.0
- Early release for some content because, uh, bug fix push, and this happened to be finished at this time.
- Added hazardous but foragable burstberry bushes to spawn around the map. Will start off unharvestable, but with a (default) 20% chance to mature every hour, and a (default) 10% chance to be stable. Will only produce once. Outside spawn weight configurable.
- Added temporary safety net specifically to cater to old saves (from this point on I'm saving version number for saves).
- Fixed saveable farming items no longer functioning or saving after one in-game play day, for every session. This might have also caused a lot of save confusion. @rough berry @formal bay @copper sage I THINK IT'S FINALLY FIXED FOR GOOD THIS TIME, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
- Fertilizer hold animation should no longer be one-handed.
- New readme section for any (as of now, using 1 so far) public-use asset credits that were used, where it was used, uploader account name, and link to source.
- Moved credits to top of readme.

uhhh, I'm going to assume this means the produce, which uh, is normal. The items just aren't parented to the moving ship, but should still save regardless. Though it might look a little daunting, so maybe I fix that later
also crops don't spoil. I actually had the idea appear once, but you know, it would be super annoying for like, most people, I'm pretty sure. The mini fridge is, yeah, for now just for show. Though I had, and still have a plan for it and the vanilla fridge, later down the line
