I asked if we felt comfortable releasing the new content in an update with a lotta bugs and an april fools joke jammed in there, and we decided to have the new content off by default basically
so we can do an actual proper drop whenever 0.2.0. is ready
may not be the most sound reasoning but it's what we felt was best for us

nothing ever just happens without a perfectly good reason, and global sounds arent a very thing complex problem, it's always just been about the audiosource's settings

unless the code explicitly overrides the audio source settings (which is like, why would that ever be a thing) or references the wrong audiosource when making the sound, it's not the code, and that's just a one liner, i dont need to ask bongo how they did it since it'd just be something like:
AudioA.PlayOneShot(hitSound); that's easily check-able by anyone who can open the github
the screenshot doesnt tell me which audiosource on the enemy is that so i cant really say anyway
nah the thing that plays the audio for the spore isnt in the code, the code plays an animation which is then somehow configured in unity to then play the sound

not sure what caused it but it happened around the time of the speed configs being implemented
there's an odd issue with the Aloe's one functioning sound effect where the more it plays the more it slows down and the deeper the pitch gets

When the y axis is at 1 it's the highest chance of them spawning and 1 on the x axis in the end of the day
remember the number weight we give enemies, it takes the time of day between 0 and 1, assigns it as x in the graph, and multiplies the number weight by the y-value corresponding to that x-value
i.e. the center of the graph is like 5pm or whatever

instakill does not equal bad imo. (Jester, Barber, Worm, Maneater, & Bracken all perform instakills)
Besides its not like it doesn't have counterplay to it, all you have to do is literally back away from a body of water after you hear its growling noise
Which is ridiculous since the planets its on is primarily water
Which you cant escape from unless you have a jetpack

Oxy canister
Or an extension ladder
so there is more counterplay than a instakill!

March itself has a lot of space around the main pond, due to which Ogo can't get you

That's one of the main points that makes LC fun. Every enemy in the game has to be learned after you scan it. Nobody knows to look at the bracken or what a jester is. Many of the enemies also give cues of when to run like the thumper. My first time playing I heard one and immediately knew I should leave the facility.
Basically what I'm trying to say is they won't know but they will when a giant worm pulls them into the lake.
Plus ogo gives an audio cue

Also yeah dying to an enemy and then learning how it works is kinda how LC enemy design goes
though most threats can be avoided by just running away
which is also how Ogopogo's countered
"ogo is so hard to counter"
the ever helpful legs:
if the trek is too hard because Ogopogo is present you can always bring a stun grenade and try to activate it as it's about to grab you
honestly ogo always felt to me like a more predictable worm
i don't see how its too hard at all
the only time i saw someone die to it was because he was triggering it intentionally for content
ye it's less an enemy you'll consistently die to and more of an additional hazard
there's also configs if you find the current stats really overwhelming for your type of playstyle @copper kiln!

Since the Ogopogo actually moves towards the location of the enemy when it finds them you can set it so the range of detection is bigger than the default
The Ogopogo also only attacks when it's a specific distance from its target, so you can just set the distance of that to be further away and it should do the trick
@vestal plume I was wondering if the configs allow for you to allow "all" moons for spawn weight, is that possible? or do each have to be implemented manually?
I would assume so since vermin use "All:100" for their spawning
