Was wondering if these are the risk ratings/prices of the moons
Incalescence is D? I thought it was B or A lol

i understand why higher difficulty moons are more expensive from a gameplay standpoint--more experience, more difficulty, more earning power, etc--but i don't think it's a hard rule that you have to abide by to correctly balance a moon
How large did you make Verdance?

Destitute was nice but I really loved Boreal it was so unique
that's not how that works. all vanilla assets have to be rebundled with a moon, they aren't pulled from the game's files at runtime

I agree! I love its vibe! It kinda gives me Metal Gear Solid 1 vibes. Definitely on par with the vanilla ones, maybe even more! But for some reason, I just find myself landing on Destitute a bit.

Chizra is probably the best one out of the original unreal interiors package

Where as with unreal interiors I'm not a fan of Haven at all, Skaarj is okay but only works on certain moons

It has a few issues: Lacks tile variety, sometimes entrances fail to generate, sometimes door ways get blocked by spike traps so you can't access areas of the interior
Turrets fire through walls
Etc
CozyOffice and Scoopys sewers have pretty good chances on my config for Verdance.

Warehouse is good but wouldn't work on Verdance
slightly inconsistent, and loot density can be unusually low sometimes

Starlancer's and Luna's moons here are my two favorite packs in terms of how much I play on them. I love Harvest Moons, Wesley's, and Rosie's stuff.

I want to add sector-0 to my modpack I’m working on but afaik it has some issues due to not being updated for so long
Solving that and seeing it first the first time was absolutely insane
The issues were there when it released, it just never really got updated to be fixed

Gorgeous moon, looks legitimately amazing
Only things I noticed from a playtest
- Finding the path to main is mildly unintuitive, myself and a few others I dragged in all had our eyes naturally drawn to taking the right-leading path after going left from ship. For some reason the scan node for main wasn't showing up until we got really close to it.
- The bird ambience is incredibly loud when you're coming in on the ship for some reason.
- This object next to main is intangible
Otherwise, awesome work here

I wanted the bird ambience to fade in when landing, but I couldn't really do that with the way I have it setup
I'll increase the main entrance scan node distance and size

It is meant to take a few runs to learn the moon
Since it's aesthetic is a completely overgrown forest

Must just be an issue with the default settings on that water shader
seconding this, i think the props could be organized in a way that more clearly leads you to fire/main
it takes a bit to find the entrances, and in lethal, a game with harsh deadlines, wandering around aimlessly tends to be more frustrating than fun
same reason foggy doesn't work that well, and probably the reason the vanilla moons all have such simplistic paths
i do like the moon alot past that, it's just a little too easy to get lost on imo, even if that's intended
i'll just increase scan node size for main
and add a scan node to fire
i play with both of these things already and it does help but i think the fire exit path especially is a bit subtle
i'm also personally not a fan of when moons deviate from vanilla like that but that's a personal pet peeve

adding a fire exit scan node is definitely gonna conflict with other mods that add scan nodes to all fire exits

Verdance has a very simple layout
so once you find everything the first time
you'll know where it is
it might feel like a maze the first time you play
but after that
it should start to feel pretty simple
I agree its kind of uncesscary to add a fire exit scan node, no other mods really do this, and if people like this feature, they can just add the fire exit scan node mod

it was all snowy with pockets/islands of all green
it was orignally meant to be a mixed theme moon, between the forest and snowy moons
I only remember it being all snowy tbh lol but I'll take your word for it
it was executed terribly for that theme

main problem was the flatness of it
the entire map was on nearly the same elevation

theres gonna be a downwards elevation trend towards the left side
and an upwards trend towards the right side

Reminds me of living up north (I used to live in Northern Canada)
Had snow like 8/9 months of the year but obviously not full winter mode for all of that
So situations like this where there’s snow on the ground but it’s a clear sunny day out with patches of green and snow were common
What the heck is the water setup you're using BTW
it looks WAY better than the water on basically any other moon I've seen
going from Verdance to Rockwell, a moon by another dev, was really funny because that dev's moons have really bad looking water IMO
Don't know if you know about this but here on Verdance, the game thinks I'm completely underwater while only my feets are in the water

and also makes high levels of detail much easier to manage
The way I do stuff is : layout for the whole map -> texturing the whole map -> adding random stuff I like at the time (can be Buildings, random rocks or any props, even scraps) -> testing things out, revisiting the terrain (changing things around lol) etc.
having a pre-made layout can def help speed up the process btw

when it comes to details
i start with
Big rocks
then i place the biggest trees
medium trees
and then small trees
and after that, i go through and add all the grass and bushes
and the last thing i do is small rocks

Also the waterfall could be heard inside the facility

Heya! Dunno if this has been reported yet but the water sounds are audible inside the facility on Verdance
Also strange behaviour on the water stream in this particular spot, it would appear I am underwater when I am above water? Haven't checked if there are any more spots on the stream with a similar quirk
Other than that, amazing remaster, walking out of the ship I was staring in awe at how much the place changed :V
Can't wait for Boreal! Really liked the makeshift ice patches and the random sheds and bridges around the place

Sometimes less is more. Bigger moons can tend to feel a little underwhelming due to the time it takes to move between points of interest. doesn't look tooo bad from the preview but it's worth walking to and from ship to main to get a feeling on if its about the same time as vanilla maps
this boreal is actually a decent bit smaller than the original
its also a moon with 3 fire exits
so i want it to be a biiit bigger
but not too much

I think ideally moons should be cruiser compatible but not requiring
Catalyst feels like a good example of this
Cruiser makes getting to 3 of the 4 entrances faster but none of them are so far away as to be nonviable on foot
(except for the fourth which is essentially jetpack only)
Vs something like Scallg which is pretty explicitly cruiser only

I mean that's kinda the point of the cruiser to me it's to do some crazy ass whacky ass shit to get it to work and to treck thru really shitty terrain with your fuck ass red truck
I do prefer passive compatability for that same reason
i like the truck as something that clearly isnt made to work with the moons
so you have to make it work

on artifice there's a straight path from the ship to the entrance but you gotta deal with the trees, the utility poles and the randomly generated rocks
I do love me some smooth cruisin but cruiser's the most fun when you can easily crash into shit
its most fun when you can clear a straight path with it
cruiser might be viable on boreal2 if you have boosts
for main
we love bulldozing through 6 trees to get to main 🔥
At the least, you'll need 2 boosts
One to get over a gap there
And then another to get back over the way you came
But otherwise
It's just ram straight through the woods
Cuz the ground is pretty smooth going towards main

How many ai nodes do you have?
You can btw save them as prefabs and then drag them back in - this way they’ll be glued perfectly to the terrain (they wont be hovering over nor be under it)
also I think you need to set your terrain to be layered to room

a lot of our alters have pretty bad social anxiety and being asked about our name changes constantly makes us avoid changing and trying to find ourselves, or causes a lot of stress about it

I think their concern is what if you add it back randomly on a next update and now they have the same moon twice / what if you seperate another moon from the moonpack you’ve got going on.
It did surprise me that you took it out of the pack, thought it was a super good lookin moon btw. I hope you ain’t gon ditch it!

So I moved it out until its updated to be more in line with the others

Rocks too hot, they burn your feet :3
That's just an issue with the textures on that rock asset
I use those Rocks on all 3 moons
So it's basically just a quirk of the pack

either you have two meshes Z-fighting
or rock's texture is on triplanar or something like that

On certain edges the rock texture flows like liquid when you move
It's a very strange issue
But it doesn't bother me
It's most likely an issue with how the details are applied to the rocks
It doesn't have z-fighting flashing
And the texture is def not set to triplanar

I'm guessing that's a Zeeker's script because I know it's not a base unity one. Are you using that script somewhere and forgot to attatch an audio source or smthn?
So it's the outside light flashing sound that's missing cus Boreal has some facility stuff outside, you got the facility flickering sound to work outside on Pinnacle so I figured you could help
I literally just copied the vanilla lights and didn't touch anything on them lol
