Trenches
A moon that is protected by large custom turrets

The map consists of two trenches guarded by turrets. One trench can only be used to go back or if you bring a jetpack. The entrance is at the end of the trenches, and two exits are located below one of the turret towers and at the end of the second trench respectively. Both turrets are fully network synced.

The moon has a low price (100 credits) but is also very dangerous.

It spawns between 16 and 20 items but has a higher chance of valuable items being spawned.

The turrets are fully networked and will scan the area for players. If a turrets spots you, you have 2 seconds to get behind cover and out of site or it will start firing at you.

The moon only spawns dogs and Old Birds on the surface which adds the extra danger to getting chased into the line of sight of a turret.

This moon can only get regular, foggy, or eclipsed weather.

I would not recommend using the cruiser on this map since turrets can still spot you while you are driving.
I would however highly encourage using a sprint or stamina mod since the map is longer then vanilla maps.

Moat Moon
A moon where the only way to enter the facility is to cross a giant deadly moat.

There are multiple ways across the giant moat but be wary of the swamp geysers and unstable bridges. This place is very lively so be on your toes about early monster appearances.

This map highly benefits from using the cruiser since it can drive on the moat without sinking.

Difficulty: C
Cost: 0

Scrap: 9 - 17

Outdoor Enemies: Forest giants, Dogs, and Babboon hawks

Weather: Eclipsed & Foggy & Stormy

2 Emergency Exits.

The Goal of this moon is to provide a interesting moon that isnt overly challenging but has some uniqueness to it that other moons don't have. The guisers aren't difficult to avoid but can create problems if you are being chased by a Forest giant or Dog. It is also meant to encourage players to make active choices by providing different paths for players to choose.

It if you go straight from the ship then take a left at thee d it will be straight ahead of you. I made the scan for it very large so you should see it if you round the corner

I wanted that to be used for jetpacks since they tend to be under used. I never checked if ladders work there. It might change that though.

I believe trenches should work but I also gave is the tag "space" or "spacey" if I remember correctly.

Minor fixes and improvements for Trenches:
1.5.0

  • fixed the dropship location being bugged when landing.
  • Added some extra detail for the second trench
  • Made it easier to place a ladder in the second trench
  • Added a blue guiding line to the walls that guides to the main entrance.

Suggestion: Make the turrets fire Old Bird rockets.
I think it would be more interesting if they pushed you around.

the bubbles are using unit's lit particle system instead of unlit. It really sucks because they take the light value of the location where the effects center is

you may need to install trenches with moat for it to work properly right now. I think it has some dependencies linked to is for some reason

It may take me a bit to do the update, I broke something when I updated LLL in my moon project and need to remember how I fixed it last time.

Moat version 1.1.2

Trenches Version 1.6.0

  • The Turrets now spawn bullets instead of just creating an impact location. (note: they are primarily visual and have a set stop location)
  • Explosions now have a bit of a delay from firing due to the bullet travel time.
  • The turrets can now miss the player even when fully aligned with the player.
  • Explosions can now push players.
  • Updated LLL implementation and added Extended mod to the moon (was still using the legacy system).
  • Re-Introduced the Space tag to the moon (with the content tag system)
  • Minor performance improvement for lighting.
  • Extra: Trenches now works when debugging with Imperium.

Fortress

New map that uses the trenches turret to protect the main entrance.
This map is more vanilla themed then trenches.
This map consists of a large snow covered hill with a large structure on top. The map has a central road that leads to the entrance with little cover from the turret. If you are daring enough you could try getting the vehicle up this road.
On each side of the road are trees that can act as cover but they become sparser the closer you get to the entrance.

  • Difficulty: S
  • Cost: 500
  • Scrap: 20 - 24
  • Outdoor Enemies: Old-bird & eyeless Dogs
  • Weather: Eclipsed, Foggy, & stormy
  • 2 Emergency entrances.

Tag: Snow
Level Name: Fortresslevel

This map requires Trenches as a dependency

It is faster and easier to get to the entrance than trenches but the monster spawn count is also higher.

Fortress works baseline fine as far as i can tell. ship lands, exits properly drop you off outside, ship leaves fine; only thing i forgot to test was drop pod

little idea for Fortress. outdoor landmines. avoiding the light feels a bit too easy. not to mention it further fortifies a fortress

make the all the traps able to spawn outside (except spiketraps), that would be terrifying but cool if well balanced perceive

that all being said, spawns would have to be tweaked very specifically, making sure the traps are guaranteed only in those spots and only at specific angles

Just play tested these moons. Things of note:

  • The content tags on the moons are a bit of a mess
    Moat: forest, mud. Fortress: Snow. Relay station: None. Trenches: Space.
    Probably should be more like Valley, Tundra, Canyon, and Military or Argon. Something like that. Obviously you can have all of those plus what you had.
  • nothing spawned outside on Relay Station. This is likely a mod conflict, but it was fine on the others, and I tested this a few times to be sure.
  • Moat Main door is not the straight forward, which is a bit odd.

In order of what I liked: Moat, Trenches, Power Relay, Fortress.
If Moat looked better, it would be 5/5 for me.
