In case it hasnt been obvious ive been on break from working on code rebirth for a good while now. Ive been more passionate with working on my own game with the surfaced team. And such the fate of code rebirth is uncertain. We had alot planned but i am no longer willing to sink that much time into that as i do not feel it is worth it.
What does this mean for the mod? Well were still gonna release the latest update for achievements and the other one after that for hazardous flora and persistent pests, however haemoglobin, the interior and cr's endgame will be put on hold.
Only thing that could bring my motivation back is consistent game updates from zeekerss or a modding resurgence because currently the modding scene has felt pretty stagnant. But for now after those updates, the mod will be put on hold until further notice.
Also for the love of god post logs and put your issues on the github.

I do think regular game updates are super unlikely, zeekers has been very sporadic and still hasnt bothered taking on people to help push out more updates and such
And the mod scene largely just floats around whatever is happening with vanilla, it spikes whenever it updates and then slowly dies off, occasionally spiking a bit when major mods release updates such as yourselves and wesley
I think there is a bigger fundamental issue though with the game, and thats because most content (both vanilla updates and mods) focuses too much on creating funny/scary short-term burst enjoyment, clip-farming, friendslop etc. whatever name you wanna call it
It is what made the game initially successful and leads to many great moments, yes, but its an unsustainable model for longer term replay-ability and enjoyment, the novelty of silly or spooky stuff will always wear off as you experience it more
A solid gameplay loop that keeps you wanting to play, without relying on such novelties i think is the key
Yet vanilla has made little attempts at making the core gameplay loop actually more enjoyable and adding more depth to it or variety, and same with most mods
Thats why i think CodeRebirth is the best mod It does add silly and funny stuff, yes, but you have put a lot of time and effort into the balance, configurability (which is important as modpacks and tastes will always differ), fixing bugs and compat issues, and in general trying to make the shit fun to play, whilst being daring enough to try stuff beyond vanilla's scope without like, completely invalidating the rest of the game
Oxyde is profitable but super risky, so it doesnt invalidate the vanilla company moon
Safes require keys, which requires going indoors, so the core loop of going indoors to get loot is still preserved
etc. etc.

- Early on, there was an NRE related to circuitbees, did something spawn the bees without a hive??
- The late-log explosion looks like the old issue regarding my EnableEnemyMesh code that iirc indicated the reverb triggers weren't set correctly around the ship on the moon. With my luck, you'll have been on a vanilla moon tho 🤭

if the number is -1, then it is not a SID
so first it rolls a 20 in 500 to decide whether the day is qualified to be a SID
then it picks an item out of any item in the list, regardless of weight
then, it tries to shuffle that item twice until it lands on an item that both has more than 5 weight and is not two handed
and if after 2 tries it doesnt land on something like that, then you've got one more chance, a 60 in 100, to not be a SID
if that 60 in 100 doesn't land, you're usually sort of fucked
it means you'll have something like a two handed SID most of the time since 0 item weights arent really a thing in vanilla

does anyone know the creator of lethal level loader? it seems to have broken every single mod its used by when you start a new ship the game just says "one player is loading custom moon" when attempting to pull the lever and even when using quality company's "/land" command in the terminal just freezes the game which is a real shame because i love playing mods with people and i have over 1000 hours playing silly mods but this seems to have broken just about every custom interior and moon ive never actually used the modding discord before but i do really want this fixed can anyone get any help on tracking down the creator or do they have connections to them to ask them about it? no pressure if they dont want to fix it just want to know
