Dunno if its been mentioned before, but another thing with meteor shower/windy is they're much easier to deal with on larger moons as its all spread out
Whereas on small moons like Triskelion or something its cursed
I think a variety of moon sizes in a pack, combo'd with reasonable weather scrap value bonuses and making it a rarer weather normally works well

Theres a reason you dont get Flooded on Titan in vanilla
(Still we are masochistic and keep it enabled cuz of the scrap value

Dine ik is very goofy and for some reason uses extremely low weights for all enemies, hence why modded enemies there tend to go silly
Tbh you could also do some notable modded moons for each
Like Manor Lord on Solace for example, proly a very low weight since its a fairly chill moon
Manor lord would use similar weights to the mansion enemies
Janitor probably more like hoarding bugs

Thats pretty much what i did, but i kept janitor to more facility-ish moons
And Manor lord i still kept to a slightly lower weight than other mansion enemies since its a bit more like a miniboss of sorts
But then i say, increase it on Auralis since its the last snowy moon etc.
Duck i keep at a super low weight on all moons, as to me its kinda like a ghost girl type thing. Also because his appearance is a lil jarring so i like to keep it much rarer, but thats just personal preference, default i imagine would be higher
Tho i then increase the duck weight more as it gets closer to endgame moons
Since the scrap from the duck can be sold, it also balances out nicely there
High weight on a more chill early game moon would be kinda free from selling the grapes and not much else to deal with
Higher weight later game means the loot provided isnt as impactful to the balance since there is plenty other scraps and other enemies to be dealing with, as well as larger interiors on average
but again thats probably just more me personally
The duck is eldritch in nature lol, very powerful, messes with employees for his amusement and has pretty gruesome kills
His bestiary also shows a bit of this

After the next update and its bug fixes I'll probably take a week or so break to catch up on commissions, play with friends (recently started a terraria world with @tropic sage because I beat her up)
Next update should add the reworked and better performance tornado, a new enemy, who's part of the clean up crew, better performance from any coderebirth moving AI like enemies and the gals and they'll be smarter and choose what entrances to use to reach you fastest, and probably other things I forgor about
The tornado throwing will also be more fun, won't throw you out of the map, won't insta kill you, but it'll bang your head a couple times
I don't say to hate or anything just curious, Is there a reason your mod has kinda a blend between seemingly reallyyy vanilla tailored content and then like the other stuff? Is it mostly just convenience in having all your stuff in one place or do you feel like it's all intended to be one cohesive kinda thing

It's a bit of both, it's very convenient for me to keep it all in one mod, but I know some stuff isn't very vanilla tailored, the main goal is that they're fun, stuff like the biomes and ambient enemies are disabled by default because they were early messing around and meaningless additions, but the goal of everything else is for someone to just want to have it around, which sometimes leads it to being vanilla tailored like the 7 hazards and the puppeteer (and ironically enough the meteor shower), but then some stuff I'm adding like Jimothy will do something so crazy that people might hate it or love it entirely
i mean the cleanup crew fits vanilla pretty good
the puppeteer is the best vanilla matching though

The weathers and flash turrets are insta locks in my friends casual modpack (puppet looks interesting too just haven't tried it) but all the gal stuff is insta disabled
Just a very interesting blend of stuff me and my friend group look for absolutely love and absolutely have no interest in
a lot of mods we use kinda hover in the middle
i really only would want the puppeteer to be its own separate mod cause its really good
(and the snow globe deep down but thats not really a whole lot)
Oh for sure I get that, the gals main strength for me is that in every single one I learned atleast a couple new skills, that's the reason I still make em (and made sure I only agreed to 4 functioning ones)
The first gal challenged all my pathfinding skills in LC and making it work performatively and in a way that makes sense
The second one had me dabble in some shader stuff for a hazard/enemy scan effect
Anytime I make anything in coderebirth, its to try something new
The 4 instruments I wanted to see if I could sync up audioclips that are playing, and it was actually fairly easy, it was just a field in the audiosource
The janitor is pure hell, its pathfinding was really annoying because he only moves in straight lines and most of its animations are layered so I can control each side of his treads
Putting up with interiors like toy store, where the agent believes there's a path, but the agent refuses to path because of horribly placed/wrongly used obstacles/modifiers was a paaaain, but I enjoyed jt

Yee, everything in coderebirth has something like that, which is probably why I'll redo the hoverboard and wallet, their code was created with wrong assumptions from the beginning, like that I NEED them to be grabbableobjects, which is a whole mess 
I also love the tornado rewrite, everything is handled on the localplayers end, cuz movement stuff was always handled like that by zeekerss anyway
I just hope i can get the right visual look without spamming particle effects to hell and back

Water is staying mostly the same, windy is turning into a healing strong tornado (but stay too long and you get launched and lose health overall), fire is taking inspiration from helldivers, grey is staying as a classic tornado, electric might be changed

I honestly don’t mind much considering every piece of content when disabled doesn’t load so it doesn’t really bother me how much I have to disable because I know it won’t effect performance or load times
Personally I think there is value in having the content that’s designed to specifically be an extension of Lethal’s pre-existing designs and aesthetics that’s separate from the more person interpretations of the game in the sense that users and creators can help understand what specifically they want out of the stuff there making (but not suggesting this should happen)
the restrictions that would come from deciding which mod a piece of content goes into can help understand what you want more in terms of overall design goals and the nitty gritty stuff
Eg. I haven’t messed with it much but the whole safe key shovel system from a glance seems visually atleast like it’s more on the end of something trying to fit into vanilla and if that’s the case I’d personally have some critiques on the UX presentation of those features it’s hard to give out those kinds of thoughts without knowing the intent of that mechanic
Yeah the safes and crates were something I did to get the player to stay outside more often and give them an incentive to in the form of scrap and shop item rewards.
Then I later introduced a danger to them in the form of mimic versions of said crates wherein the que to figure out whether they're mimics is both really subtle and something I don't actually know if anyone here noticed
I couldn't think of a better way to portray that they need to be dug up than just making a scannode with simple instructions and literally implanting em into the ground, then a little thing for the safe that tells you what to do when hovered over it
I’d have to take a proper look before elaborating more but just using it as an example
The more specific the mod the more accurate you can be in determining if the execution is matching the goal

If id buff some it would probably be bug zapper, laser, fan and ac unit
with all my encounters with a flash turret (which to be fair, i’ve only seen like 4-5, i don’t really use coderebirth that much anymore), the turret only emitted a very bright light
and not like a camera flash flashbang like i was expecting
so i was never really affected by it
Last night when playing with 3 friends I’d gone in with 2 and there was a landmine. One of them said “LaNdmINe!” In a funky voice (as a callback to a previous joke) and then in disappointment at the callback to an already bad joke said “I’m going to kill my self” and this man walks forward and (allegedly unintentionally) actually steps on the mine and blows the 3 of us up.
Ac cuz it sucks at getting actual jetpack users, fan cuz its weak as hell now

ok spawn weight is a bit complicated
higher spawn weights mean higher base chances for something to spawn
but the spawn weight number an entry has is not correlated to the chance
if you want the exact chance of an eyeless dog with 22 spawn weight vs forest giants with 82 and earth leviathans with 39
the calculation is the number of the specific thing you want to know the chance of, divided by the total spawn weight of the string
so in that example, eyeless dogs have a base chance of 15% to spawn
Higher number = higher chance of spawninf

In older versions especially, its balance was very wack, basically invalidating any gear from other mods not designed for calamity because calamity stuff is scaled up so much
Recently tho i recall they toned it down to follow vanilla balance a bit more

Terraria is a sandbox primarily with some amount of progression through bosses, and calamity hard emphasises the progression/boss fight aspect
The closest is CR, but it does a good job balancing the stuff, and even the more divisive balance stuff like crates, weather and gals have good configs so it can be kept in check
For example if you feel crates are shifting the focus away from looting inside to looting outside, then just lower the spawns, amount of items etc. in proportion to how big the outside is

While I haven't played with it much before the mod creator went wacko I did see it had stuff like diving boots which basically let you fly if it was flooded
The problem is that the other stuff was kinda just random things that arent really gameplay, like latejoining, more players, things that don't nearly fit the mod
The entire og pack of LGU gets pretty close with all the different items
Combo of wheelbarrow, deeper pockets and a jetpack is stupidly overpowered with the default config

I went ahead and disabled a ton of stuff for balance. Pretty much all direct buff upgrades got disabled and i mostly kept stuff that's either active (eg sick beats) or extemely situational (eg discombobulator)
