Haha nah, their normal map is just cranked up a bit so some of the details are very visible, gives them an almost leathery, burnt look imo
Y'know a hairy maneater skin could actually be interesting to do though.
The regular maneater actually has the hair, you just can't really see it in-game with Lethal Company crushing the model

Unfortunately I'm not sure how you could add compatibility either. How the Barber's skins work is that I completely replace the material with the edited texture on it, I could change it to instead only replace the texture and then your material tweak will show but then the Barber won't fade at all which is a big no no
this is odd because im pretty sure the alpha is baked into the diffuse texture, not sure how this is happening
when i was developing my plugin i had this issue but it was because i wasnt changing the material of the "skin" variable specifically in ClaySurgeonAI
i also had to instantiate it so it would be dependent for each barber
I think the issue of the Barber not fading is just an issue with the replace texture feature in EnemySkinKit, nothing to do with your mod specifically. replacing texture If i remember correctly is more of a last resort if changing material doesn't work for whatever reason (Kidnapper Fox, Hygrodere, etc.) and so it may not work correctly

The vanilla code for GetBiggestWeedPatch is limited to detecting a maximum of 10 spores around a single weed, but at higher iteration counts, it's not unlikely for clusters to grow signific...

just my two cents but probably the easiest way to resolve this would be the incompatibility being resolved with the enemyskinkit
it sounds like enemyskinkit doesn't handle the barber's thisMaterial field properly?
my guess is that if you assign the texture, it just iterates through material on all of the barber's renderers and changes mainTexture (or uses SetTexture with the relevant parameters)
but that would create clones of the materials which would break the connection to the thisMaterial field that gets adjusted by player distance

I have used both on v68 and it works perfectly fine, did you check the in-game config to make sure skins aren't disabled/set to 0% or anything?

That's odd. And you say the logs don't say anything? Maybe change the logging level on both EnemySkinKit/EnemySkinRegistry to see if you get something on the log?

I'm not too knowledgeable with error logs but It seems from there that FixPluginTypesSerialization is failing to load properly for whatever reason which is causing the issues your having. I do know that if you do not have the mod then skins will not show

I've been kinda bored and beginning to take a break from my moon mod so I decided to revisit ColorfulEnemyVariety specifically and look over all the skins that I think could use touch-ups or remakes since it hasn't really gotten as much love as Extra has been getting for a while. Maybe I'll sneak in a few extra colors too? Not sure when I'll consider the update finished, probably whenever I feel satisfied 
Quick question, is there downsides to frequent updating of mods? Bc i think updates should be released one skin at a time or a group of themed skins at once

When it comes to the old bird specifically, yes. The problem I have with them specifically is that my old method of making the skins left them with this kinda ugly pixel artifacting that makes them noisy and lower quality, and I kinda just left it at that. For about more than a month now I've switched art programs so for them i'm doing them from scratch again
Some other enemies I think are fine and some others I think could use tweaks/remakes too. Jester & Forest Giant are some that pop into mind rn
A lot of the Jester reskins in Colorful are sort of meh yeah
I like the Extra Enemy Variety ones more
Yeh, it along with the original nutcracker and ghost girl skins are some of the oldest skins in the mod. Forest Giant I think has too many samey looking skins. Probably applies to some other enemy's skins too
We've learned and improved a bit from focusing on Extra for so long that I think it's reasonable to take a look back at Colorful and see what could be improved across the roster

i check LLL for spawn weights and use imperium for checking the spawn curves
like generics has no soundscapes so it sounds super empty
altmoons is kinda cool i like it but some choices are strange
soundscape is like my number 1 turnoff
if i land on the moon and it doesn't sound like a real place it's distracting for the entire time i spend landed there
i really enjoyed incalescence until stan(who is coincidentally now here) pointed out it looks awful with post processing
this affects more moons than just incalescence
lethal company's post processing effects don't work on terrain objects (i think there's a flag you can set but it's not enabled by default) and moon devs aren't generally converting their terrain to mesh

i think it's just especially noticeable on incalescence because of the distribution of terrain v mesh and how dense the fog is

This bothers me the most out of anything when it comes to modded moons. Like no offense but if your moon is dead silent and is just the alley reverb throughout the whole moon that's a huge turnoff for me

You have to use YesFox to restore all of it and personally I cap the iterations so there aren't too many

camping the ship was only an issue in v55 before the AI got reworked
it was like... totally broken when the beta initially released
in v56 its AI was rewritten and is basically fully functional now, at that point the issue became vain shrouds growing on top of the ship
because that would let their functional nesting behavior place them inside the ship for the whole day
shroud growth is fixed in yesfox so its not an issue anymore as of v64

it was a lot harder initially but as a whole the game was still fine

i think most players see the fox and (not at all wrongfully) assume it is their job to exterminate the weeds entirely to stop it from spawning because there isnt much mechanical transparency

but she found out that the barber's normal map (which was added in v60 but is unused) has completely different UVs than the diffuse map
like it has a secondary texture laid on top of it
and it causes it to look so fucky zeekerss just disabled the normal map immediately after adding it to the game
