This mod would be for a small scrap compactor, maybe about the size of the file cabinet to be a part of your ship when you start the game. Instead of dropping all of your scrap in the ship (causes lag and clutter especially for high quotas) you instead throw it all into a scrap compactor.
Interact with the compactor while having scrap in your hands, the scrap disappears and is crushed into a single scrap cube with the same value as the scrap. You can keep adding more scrap indefinitely, piling on more to the value of the scrap cube. Once you're ready to sell, interact with a different button on the compactor to make it spit out the scrap cube, a singular cube worth exactly all of the scrap you compacted into it.
There is no extra value or less value or items lost, it is simply a way to streamline selling items and reduce lag and clutter for high quotas. Instead of having tons of scrap you'll have 1 small compactor.
I got this idea when thinking of a way to reduce lag in the ship caused by having tons of scrap, and also fixing the issue of tons of clutter in the ship.

Note: the scrap cube is very lightweight for convenience sake. You'll only be carrying it around when you're selling it anyway. Adding more scrap will NOT increase the weight. A piece of scrap you compact will add the scrap's value to the scrap cube.
Example:
If you gather a flask worth 30, a sheet worth 20 and a note worth 10 you can for example,
Compact the flask, creating a scrap cube worth 30 credits, then add the sheet onto it, making the value of the cube 50 credits. Add the note to make the value of the cube 60 credits. Sorry for over-explaining I just want to make sure there's no confusion.
