One player in the lobby becomes the Facility Master. This player plays the game very differently. Instead of controlling a scavenger, the FM's goal is to kill the scavengers with speed, efficiency, and ha ha's.

Anyone is welcome to the idea! Below is just my imagining of it.

Outline of Play
The FM can spawn entities (hazards and monsters) using Facility Credits, earned from:

  • A base amount per landing that scales with the moon's hazard level.
  • A scavenger being killed or dying. The lower the threat level of the killer, the more credits awarded.
  • Time passing.
  • The inverse of the scavengers' grade score.

The cost of an entity is determined through a few variables:

  • The threat level (base cost).
  • Rarity in general.
  • Rarity on that moon.
  • Time of day.

The higher the threat and rarity, the higher the cost. As time approaches midnight, all costs are reduced.

When the ship would land, time is paused and the FM is given a one minute grace period before the ship actually lands, so they can place hazards. Once a scavenger has entered the facility, hazards can only be placed in sections that have not been explored by the scavengers. Also, certain objects have an exclusion radius for hazards. These are exits, doorways and other hazards (no unpassable lines of mines). Monsters can be spawned during the grace period, but at an increased cost.

For monsters, a closed vent is required to spawn them, if they spawn from vents.

How Does the FM Operate?
There's a few ways I can think of.

  • Flycam with noclip. Quick and dirty.
  • Invisible, noiseless, collisionless (to entities) player that moves around the map.
  • "The Organization"
  • Rival to the company, you are an agent employed to sabotage the competition.
  • Game is played through the terminal, moving on radar and issuing commands.

Thank you! I'm glad you think so!

Should specify that spawning a steam leak hazard wouldn't have an exclusion radius.

How am I the only one following this post smh

Should be a crime to not be following

4 players is not enough, a mod like biggerlobby or advanced company should do the trick

For sure inspired from my hundreds of hours in DBD!

@tidal lark thanks for the kind words, and I agree about the player numbers. I also agree that increasing the lobby size is probably left best to other mods that do it already
